Works Well & Exceeds Expectations – Good Battery Life
Works better than I had expected. When the word “Static” is used, I had the idea that it uses a charge like “static electricity,” like when you walk across a carpet and get a static electricity shock when you touch something. The shock from this device is much stronger than that. A pet will not soon forget the shock from this device. It’s more like the shock you get when you touch an electric fence on a farm that’s used to keep the livestock away from the fence. The battery life is better than I thought it would be, they are the same type as used in smoke alarms, and last for a long time, maybe weeks at least it would seem, and there are re-chargeable batteries available, which the seller recommends, that I have found to be very good, charge fast and long lasting.I have neighbor cats that come onto my patio late at night because they sense the smell of birds that use my bird baths and feeder during the day. And as we know, cats like to mark their territory with urine, which I do not care for. I don’t mind if they just want to hang out and harmlessly lounge about, but they come around late at night and are an annoyance, in addition to urinating, they trip my security camera in the wee hours, and I get woken up by an alert.I had been spraying the path to the patio with Vinegar or Ammonia to keep the cats away, but it takes time and the smell is annoying to not only the cats. I’m sure this device will be much more effective in training the cats to stay away. I only use it at night since I don’t want the birds to get shocked. It’s rated as an indoor item, but works well outdoors if only at night, as long as it’s not raining.Overall, it seems to work well, my security camera caught a cat walking onto it, and I was pleased to see that it didn’t harm the cat, which seemed to be intrigued with the mat, but not intrigued enough to come back for more after it encountered the electric charge being applied to its feet.

Saved my sanity
Seriously, I was losing my mind there for a second. But Iâm sharing this incase anyone else is going through what I went through and are indecisive on getting this. I know I was. Iâve had this cat for 8 years. But a little over a year ago she started getting into this really bad habit of putting her paw under our bedroom door and shaking in the middle of the night asking for food. She has always been crazy about food but this was ridiculous. My solution was to spray her with water every time she did it but it didnât stop her. We then moved to a different house and she stopped for a month or so. Then my wife gave birth to our daughter and shortly after she started doing it again except this time it put us on high alert because we were afraid it would wake the baby up. We tried everything. Water bottle didnât work. There were nights she would wake us at 3 am, I would go out and spray her, then she would shake the door again at 4 am and again I would go out to spray her. This would continue on every hour until I woke up. Some nights I would leave some food for her to have at night but still she shook the door. Some nights I would give her food after she shook the door so she would leave us alone and she still would return to shake the doors hours later. I even got a self feeder so it would fill up on its own as she ate and she would still come shake the door asking for food. I would have to pick her up and take her to her bowl and she would start eating. Maybe it was because I had to move the bowl somewhere where our dogs wouldnât get it she might have been confused but after doing this 3 weeks and she still couldnât get the hint, it was driving me crazy. We even tried cat repellent and nothing. I ended up getting this mat and still I held off for about 2 weeks because I was worried I would shock her too much. And every night I just hoped she would stop but she never did. Finally I got the courage to do it and stick to it. That whole night I felt so bad, as if I was going to do something abusive to our cat but I had to see it through. And guess what? It worked! It takes about 2 to 3 second after something steps on it for the mat to go off. And the first night she was so stubborn that she did it 3 times until she finally gave up. It wasnât until the 4th night that she had given up completely and now I sleep in peace! And I no longer fear the cat waking up our baby. I mean the cat woke us up more than our newborn did. It was ridiculous! Iâm so glad I got this and if youâre hesitant on trying this then this is your sign to try it. Try it and youâll be glad you did.

Doesnât work at all
Was really excited to get this. It doesnât work at all. Have a cat that has decided my home office is her place and started marking in here and making it smell like pee.Bought this to train her not to come in, but doesnât work at all. Carefully read the instructions. Trimmed her claws to make sure they werenât too long. Her paws arenât furry. Pushed the button on the mat and let it calibrate for the full minute. Short pushed the button till the green lights on both static and tone were blinking green every five seconds. What the manual says means it is working.Thought it was maybe that the mat was new and still a bit misshapen, so turned it off and laid it out all night with some items on top to flatten it out.Next morning did the same routine. Push button and let it calibrate for one minute. Change to static and tone and made sure green lights beeping every 5 seconds.Put some food in my office so sheâd follow me in. She stepped RIGHT on the mat. Just stood there too. Long enough for me to think âwow this doesnât work at allâ, and then even longer to where I thought âI should take a picture of thisâ. Stood on it for a good 30 seconds and nothing.I thought still maybe her feet were too furry since the instructions mentioned it so put my hand directly in the middle and pushed down. Held for a good 30 seconds and nothing as well.Battery is fresh out of the pack and fully seated. Followed all instructions (including battery pack facing up). Doesnât work. At all.

The only product that has stopped the pee madness
I have bought ALL of the products to get our sweet Thomas O’Malley the Alley Cat to stop peeing outside of his litter box. This is the ONLY thing that has gotten him to stop! Con: Now the battery doesn’t connect well unless you take some cardboard to jam in the battery well (plastic thing) to make the battery connect. Easy fix!If you have kids beware that your oldest might try to get your youngest to step on it… personal note aside. Great product for price and it does its job wonderfully.

Works great.

This product definitely works. Hands-down five star I believe in it because it only has to zap the pet once maybe twice if you have a really brave pet. Iâm not kidding no joke once, and the second time he tried wasnât a good situation. He knocked over a couple things so that in itself scared him it does take and require a 9 V battery and Iâve had no issues with it. I even zapped myself by mistake once so be careful because it will zap you very quickly and it gave me a little bit of sense of what my cat felt. So yeah get it. Buy it if youâre having trouble with the pet on a table or a counter that you donât want them up on do it ðð½ up five âï¸On the little bit of a downside is that he did have anxiety when it first happened so for a few days, you know he took that anxious little pose that cats do all crouched up paws underneath themselves just kind of looking afraid and you know theyâre anxious, but it only lasted for a few days and now he doesnât go up there anymore. Good value its a durable plastic and the size is nice and long for tables or counters.

My dog kept getting on my new couch and eat the pillows chew the arms , we literally had to pile items on couch when not in use to keep her off and that didnât always work.since I put the mattress on my couch dog sniffed it ,it beeped and he hasnât even gotten near the couch since then I tried everything and this is the best thing ever to keep your pets off of your furniture, highly recommended,I love it!!!

It’s simple to use and does what you expect it to. Used it for cat training as one of my cats was peeing where he shouldn’t. He stepped on that and hasn’t gone back once.
