Sturdy-Nice-Wood-Adjustable Gate
We have used this gate for a year now. It is still in great shape except for normal wear and tear of every day use, such as scuff marks that have appeared due to moving it from one doorway to another. I love the fact that it is a free-standing gate. Although it is free-standing it is very sturdy. My dogs are only 13 and 12 pounds each, but when they are both standing and leaning on it, it is still not moving. It does not slide on the tile floor and it does not lean. Another plus for this gate is the fact that when it is not in use it stores flat. The ‘legs’ fold in and you can lean it against the wall or slide it under the bed for storage. Another great thing is that it fits different size doorways. We use it in a regular size doorway and also in a dining room opening that used to have double doors. It is 20 inches tall, which means both pups can jump over the top if they really want too. They stand 10 inches tall. The point is to train them not to jump over the gate. I have one who will not jump over it for anything, and the baby who jumps over at almost any opportunity. More training is in order for her, lol The gate is just a barrier to be used to let them know an area is off limits. If you need a definite barrier for your dog you may want to get a taller gate. I don’t know if this brand has a taller one, but if so, I would highly recommend it. The quality is great and it fits into a room just like a piece of furniture.**Update: August 13, 2014Just wanted to add an update for this product. We are still using the pet gate. It is still in great shape, sturdy, works properly, and the wood is still looking great. We have since ordered an additional pet gate of another style from the same company that is also just as well made.**Update: February 27, 2015Just another update for this pet gate. We are still using this pet gate. Although we are not using this one on a daily basis anymore, we do use it to block off rooms at different times when needed. We use a larger pet gate from the same company that has a door we can walk through, and we do use that one every single day. The wood on this gate is still in great shape, the screws are still sturdy and everything is in working order. Yes, our pups can jump over this gate, and they are only 10 pounds, but a gate is only a barrier. However, they don’t jump over because they know that when the gate it up they are to stay on the other side.. You also have to consider training along with any gate you purchase. This company has great pet gates and I would buy another from them in the future if I decide I need one for another are of our house.

I am actually incredibly pleased with this! With the way our house is set up there is not a good place to secure a baby gate, but we needed to keep our little one out of the kitchen. I know this is intended for pets and I was incredibly doubtful whether or not it would be safe or secure to use with my one year-old. Not only does it stand up to his banging and rattling, but my 70 pound black lab could not knock it over either!!!! I do appreciate that it is a step-over gate, because my husband and I both have a hard time opening regular baby gates due to always having our arms full or carrying our tot. I sleep walk & we regularly host overnight guests, so wanted something we could move at night. Please note: My dog is easily able to jump over it as a full grown black lab, which is actually what I wanted because he needs access to the other parts of the house sometimes. However, if you are intending this for large dogs, I would not recommend it unless your dog is very old or unable to jump. Would be great for small & medium breeds. I really like the color and the fact that it doesnât look like we live in a preschool setting. My biggest surprise was the sturdiness of it. When we assembled it I really thought that it would be returned as soon as my baby knocked it over, but even when I accidentally kicked it, the gate did not fall over. It does wobble some, but it always centers itself because of the way the legs are made. I think the wobbling is intentional. The best thing is that we donât have holes in the walls and can move it at night for safety. I find this to be an excellent solution for people who donât have a place to mount or secure a standard gate.

Fireplace Mantle Gate!
We dont have pets unless 3 children count ð we just bought this house and I knew I didn’t want one of those tall ugly metal baby gates. This works perfectly to keep my 11m old away from the sharp slate tile edge and from messing with anything! Excellent quality and color matches PERFECT!

Sturdy and looks great
This is a very sturdy gate for small dogs and looks really nice. I had other free standing gates that my 9 lb cavapoo could move and get through. She canât move this one and the side panels can be locked with a screw to not move or allowed to swing open/close. Assembly was easy and quick – 2 screws depending on the size you want. I just wish you can change the side without having to use a screw driver each time.

Best pet gate I have ever purchased
This is a great product. I have had (and still have) several ‘baby gates’, and this is the best one I have ever purchased. All of the others are pressure gates of one sort or another, and this is by far the most attractive and convenient.It is tall enough at 20″ to keep my Yorkie, Terrier mix, Doxie/Corgi mix and Maltese where I want them to stay (even my 45 lb Dingo mix will not cross), but short enough to allow my cats to jump over into areas they are allowed to go. This is also much easier for me to step over (vs. the standard 26″ pressure gate).Simply pick up and move to the location you want it, and you are done. No more fighting with adjusting/readjusting the width to fit every time. No more pinched fingers fiddling with the adjustments.Assembly is easy, though you need to take a moment to analyze ‘left’ from ‘right’ on the provided instructions. At $80 it is a little pricey, but for me, the cost was well worth the added convenience.The only downside is, if you do want to adjust the width, it would require partial disassembly/reassembly, or multiple gates, which is not convenient and/or expensive. But, if you have a place you know you want to keep a gate permanently, or use only in a single location, this is the one for you.

Solid, but shorter than you might think
Really nice and solid freestanding fence, but just be aware of the hight. Only very small dogs and babies who arenât climbing up at all yet can be held in by this.

I bought this gate to contain our little Yorkie who refuses to be house trained.I have to say this unit, while a bit pricey, is really well constructed, sturdy and very attractive looking. The nice white wood finish compliments our decor nicely.It was very simple to assemble and is easy to adjust the width.With its rubber bumpers on the bottom, it will not scratch the floor or slide around. I bought the short one, and it is very easy to step over without moving it.I would highly recommend this gate to anyone looking to contain a small dog.It’s perfect! Well worth the money.
