Smooth retracting and quick, reliable braking make this a stand out.
Love this lead. Itâs very sturdy and the brakes work well when i need to stop my 95 lb tall boy who loves to run alongside me when Iâm riding my bike. The included water bowl is super useful and perfect for long outings. Smooth retracting, no tangle, and againâthe quick reliable responsiveness of the braking mechanism makes our bike-runs possible.

Perfect leash
Its your standard ribbon retractable leash.. I bought one that was a corded leash and it broke on first use. So far this is going strong…using with a 10month old golden (55lbs).just be careful when retracting..although it hasnt happened to me, I can see that if you have the leash all twisted it may not retract or you might jam the device (of course). also the button controls for locking are a bit tricky to use at first but then its fine (remember you cant retract or unlock the leash if there is any tension on it, like if the dog is pulling).First the price is the best that ive seen when comparing on amazon (they are all rebranded products anyway), and it comes with a bowl and poop bag holder.i would have prefered it to come with a 2 foot plastic encased metal wire cable (to avoid damaging the leash if your dog decides to bite it—usually the part near their mouth). but Ill get that separately.anyway im happy with it.

Quick retraction speed and strong enough for our 60 lb strong dog
This is a replacement for a previous leash and works great for our 60 lb very energetic and strong dog.âSo far, I am very happy with the length, the strength, quick responsive retraction speed, and the ease of use. I really like that it also came with a little clip on collapsable water bowl for the summer/hiking and a little pod for waste bags (BONUS) — I have a larger pack to carry, but sometimes I just need something small like this capsule for quick jaunts.âQuick retraction of leash and it stays retracted enough so that it doesn’t ever sag and doesn’t get caught under his legs or chest.âRibbon of leash appears to be reflective — but regardless is easy to see (which is great as our dog is usually out at its 26′ limitâThe locking mechanism is strong and easy to use (no tiny button to push). The only thing I wish was that it didn’t automatically lock when you press down on it (you then have to actively unlock it). Sometimes I just need a temporary hold on a shorter leash so I wish that it would unlock when you lift your thumb and would only stay locked if you pushed the secondary button. Oh well, it is a minor detail.Thumbs up! We just need to see how long it lasts now as our pup is hard on leash mechanisms.

Durable & Worth It
I bought this leash almost three years ago and it has exceeded all expectation. After using it multiple times on a daily basis, it has held up much better than I ever anticipated. We have a large Doberman that is pretty well trained but loves to pull when she gets excited. When outdoors, a lot gets her excited. So I assumed that Iâd need a new one much sooner. Especially because of the low price that was originally paid. But I havenât! itâs still going and is still used daily. Only now, is it starting to show signs of wear. It doesnât retract as fast and there is one weak spot starting to show on the leash itself. But this is after almost three years of heavy duty use, with a big, goofy dog that tries to chase (or play with) everything that moves outdoors. It has proven to be a durable, dependable leash and although itâs not 100 percent necessary right now, I plan to buy a new one shortly. I never used the extras that came along with it, like the collapsible water bowl. But they are a nice bonus. Even without those extras, itâs definitely worth the purchase.

Best retractable leash I’ve found
I went to two stores locally to find a decent retractable leash for my dog. They don’t even have them anymore, what’s going on? One store had smaller ones, not even good quality, and the other store did not have any in stock. I used to get them at these stores all the time. So I turned to Amazon once again. My dog is a Alaskan Husky, and she pulls very hard. When she gets loose it is a nightmare, she forgets her name and runs wild, she has run across a busy highway in the past. This PINA Retractable Dog Leash is very well made, and it has a very long ribbon style strap that won’t tangle. The button to lock it is also the most user friendly design that I’ve ever used. I recommend it for dog lovers, especially for large dogs who are strong willed and strong physically.

Weird
Shorter than similar ones, and mechanism is not intuitive. Still struggle with it to unlock lead tension

I am impressed with each of the rate features (lock, ease of handhold, durability), and the leash has definitely transformed my dog’s walking experiences at places like the beach, where leashes are mandatory most months of the year (see video). However, after the events of today’s walk I would like to propose a modification to the leash handle/housing.During our walk today – a hot, humid day – I turned to cross a main road, easily 5 metres away, and locked the leash at about 1.5 metres. My property was across the road. My dog, Dish (an Australian kelpie pup), changed direction but lunged slightly as she did it. My hand was sweaty, and the handle/leash housing popped straight out of my hand, hitting the ground and then bouncing straight into the dog’s rear end, startling her and causing her to jump forward, causing the leash housing to bounce into her again. She was spooked by this and bolted straight across the road, not looking to see what was happening behind her, as the leash housing continued to bounce back into her. By the time she was across the road she was frantic, moving at speed and not stopping for anything, racing past my house and down the street. Luckily, she circled around a garden after about 75 metres, which allowed me to catch her. The leash, by this stage, had wrapped around one of her rear legs several times. My concern is that the road she crossed often has fast moving traffic travelling on it, and we had only just crossed a major highway a couple of minutes before. The leash housing popping out of my grip was quite a natural occurrence, given the texture of the grip and the sweat on my palm. I think the problem could be alleviated if there were some way to secure the leash housing to one’s wrist by way of a strap of some kind. I’m sure some users won’t be attracted to such an idea, but I intend to fabricate a solution to that end before I use the leash again.Nonetheless, I otherwise remain very happy with this product and I’m happy to have made this purchase. An hour after today’s incident, Dish appears to be a little wary of the leash, but I’m confident she’ll come around.

Leash snapped after several weeks

When I first unpacked this leash, I was optimistic. It felt well-made and sturdy. After two months of use, I wouldn’t recommend this leash to anyone. There are two reasons for this.First, the locking mechanism is just … weird. I used to use a Flexi lead, and it just makes sense. Want the dog to stop? Push the button. Want the leash to stay there? Lock it. This leash works backwards. If you push the button, the leash locks RIGHT AWAY. You can’t just ‘pause’ your dog. You have to then take the extra step of unlocking the leash for it to either retract or let out more. I kept telling myself that it was just different, that I’d get used to it. After two months, NOPE. It just doesn’t work the way it should. The second problem is worse. After only two months of use, the spring is giving out. Without any weight at the end of the leash, it slows down when there’s about 3 feet of leash hanging out. From that point, I have to pretty much push the leash into the handle to get it to retract further.I strongly recommend looking at a different leash.
