    Are You Talking To Me?
A nicely composed and well-documented book that shows great pictures of many different breeds exhibiting various behaviors. This is an easy to read format with interesting factoids that keeps the book concise and yet entertaining. If your dog waives his/her tail in different ways, what exactly does that mean? If you lean over your dog, how does your dog react to that? Read it and learn something new. The more that you and your dog understand each other, the better bond in your relationship. This is the first book that I’ve found that reinforces several behaviors that I’ve observed over 40 years of owning and training dogs. All of the dogs that I’ve owned (or owned me) had their own distinct personalities. Once you learn to hear and speak ‘dog’ it makes it easier to understand both their needs and feelings. And for you new dog owners, always, and I mean always, remember that your dog will feed off of your emotions. Try to always remain calm. He or she will even be able to feel any tension from you holding their leash.I would heartily recommend that every new dog owner has a copy of this book on hand to help him/her bond quickly with their new puppy. It will be even more valuable for someone rescuing an adolescent/adult dog from a shelter. These dogs typically have their own unique behaviors and have to be taught to speak clearly so that their new owner can communicate effectively with them. Good luck to both of you!

    It’s adult-informative and kid-friendly
My oldest son used this book in his 5th grade reading project. It’s adult-informative and kid-friendly, combining solid facts and stories with cute thought bubbles and pictures of dogs doing funny things. A good resource into various dog behaviors and what they (might) mean. My son really enjoyed reading this book, as did I. This is one I wouldn’t mind reading again and would probably go back and skim a lot if I owned it. I liked how everything was written. Easy to understand and fun with some very shortened stories that were interesting. I’m glad I’ve read this and would recommend it to anyone who has a dog or is going to get one. It doesn’t take long to read and there is a lot of info. The pictures were really good and the captions cute. I liked how the book was laid out too. The end has some cool tidbits about dogs in general and some of the breeds. Definitely worth the read and my son said it didn’t feel like a study sesh whatsoever!

    It’s good
I got this for my son who loves his dogs and is a very factual boy. He loves it, and now repeats it to me, so I don’t have to read it to know what it says. It’s cute, has great pictures, has fun commentary and explains why they do the things they do and gives helpful warnings about dog behavior too. We get lots of things from NG kids and he eats it up.

    Nice book!
Love this book. Seems really nice. Wish there was a little bit more detail, but gives good basic information. This would be really great for a child to understand dogs. I was looking for more information on a shy and scared dog being as I got one a couple months ago that seems like she was abused. I am needing to find more information on this, but this did give me some basics. Thank you!

Perfect read for my 9-year old
We just got a new puppy and this was a perfect read for my 9-year old. He was very proud to share with me all the tips he learned about our puppy’s body language. This is very well written and engaging for kids.

    A Great Dog Translator
This was a perfect gift for my dog loving husband. He thinks it is right on the money, as does our Golden, Buddy. Paul Isn’t a vicarious reader, but this book kept his interest. In fact, he recommended that we buy it for another dog-loving friend, who also loved it. The book is divided into chapters that spell out the different ways dogs communicate, and how they react to each other and the world around them. Really enlightening!

Not knowing what to get my soon to be 11 year old for her birthday I Google it! And this came up. So I took a chance and she loves it. The film is fairly pricey so had to explain that she can’t click at every thing like on a digital film. But she loves that it instantly prints. I also got an accessory pack seperatly which she loved.
