    Great Value
This is an extra long baby gate. I have a 60lb pit mix that I want to keep confined in the kitchen when I’m at work. I looked around to find another gate this long without luck – I was skeptical of this gate due to the low price. This gate works perfect for me. My dog respects the gate even though she could easily jump over it or run right through it.Pros: 1) super long, 2) affordable, 3) easy to install, 4) low enough to step over but tall enough to create a barrier (i’m 5′ 2″) 5) neutral color. Cons: 1) not very sturdy, 2) hassle to lock and unlock the gate, 3) wood looks unfinishedOverall, I’m very happy with this well priced, extra-long gate.

The best big gate out there, at a fabulous price
i searched high and low for a wide gate to span a 74.5 inch doorway that didn’t cost $100. I had 2 doorways that width and that was just way too much to spend. Some of the reviews mention that it’s not sturdy. I couldn’t disagree more. My daughter likes to climb on them and stick her legs through, and shake the gate like she’s in baby jail, and this gate hasn’t even thought about being flimsy. It may SEEM flimsy because the middle is fixed and the both sides can extend out, which is how it can get so wide, so when you shake it the part that’s doubled from not being all the way extended kinda wobbles against each other, but that is just the nature of this gate. There are metal clips holding the doubled parts together so it can only wibble that distance, a couple mm. So it’s not flimsy at all, but can be perceived as flimsy if you’re not paying attention. It was easy to install, you do need a drill though. And I love that both sides are able to be opened. I can also step over it with relative ease at 5’4″ so you don’t have to open it every time. I am so happy with these gates.

    Good gate for wide opening
This gate is great for large spaces. We have a toddler and two dogs and this works perfectly for us. The gate expands across a large space to keep the dogs off the couch and out of the room. However, the gate can pretty much 360 degrees from where it is attached. When not in use it is super easy to consolidate it to smaller length and put it up against the wall so it is not in the way.The gate comes with all the hardware you need to install it and installation was overall pretty easy. You of course need to drill holes and measure where the fisheye hooks have to be placed to accommodate the hook on the bottom and the latch on the top. The only drawback is you do have to drill holes into the wall, I know it’s a necessary evil for most child gates I still just hate to damage the wall.As far as using the actual gate, there is a hook on the bottom that goes into the lower fisheye hook and latch on the top that secures the top. It is pretty secure, our toddler has not figured out / or is strong enough to push down on the latch and open the gate. On the flip side if we want to leave it so she can open it if she pleases we can just put the hook on the lower section and she is able to slightly lift the gate enough to open the gate (however the dogs can’t get in with just the lower hook attached).Overall a good purchase, not too expensive, not too hard on the eyes, and overall very effective. I also was not able to find a lot of options that extended to the distance needed so I am very happy with it turning it out as well as it did.

    Sturdy, lightweight, simple gate
Really like this gate! Sturdy, inexpensive, short enough to step over, made out of real wood. You can either swing it open or slide it and there is nothing to trip over. The latch takes a little getting used to but is secure. I like that it’s not extremely heavy. I added felt sliders to the feet.

NOT size described!! Difficult to put together. Even harder to open and close.
I hope I can help someone else avoid the issues I had…I have a 100 inch doorway between my living room and sunroom. I had a sturdy metal baby gate across this doorway for 3 years that recently broke so I needed a replacement. I chose this one because I wanted something that fit the doorway. The one I had before was too long so I had to bend sections so they stuck out from the doorway. This gate is NOT the length described. I measured the gate and the one I received was a little shorter then 97 inches fully stretched. So too short for my doorway. The hardware it comes with is too short to make it fit the length needed. So if you need this to fit anything larger than 96 inches, you will need to buy longer hardware. The gate comes in two pieces you have to assemble with 4 screws. The holes do not line up right so I had a heck of a time getting the hardware into the holes. I finally did but it shouldn’t have been this difficult. This gate should have taken me all of 10 minutes to put up but it took much longer, at least 20, due to the issues all of the issues I have described (Hardware, length, holes not lining up).I am tired of returning things to Amazon. They keep sending me subpar, damaged items or straight up the wrong items. So it is not worth dragging it to UPS and returning it. I made it work but will need to go buy longer hardware to accommodate the extra length of my doorway otherwise the current hardware will likely rip out of the doorway since not much of it can be screwed into the wall to accommodate the shorter than advertised length. Also, this is a pain to open and close. The mechanism to open and close is really difficult to press/squeeze. So if you have any issues with your hands (arthritis, carpal tunnel, etc) this is NOT the gate for you. I am stepping over it to avoid having to squeeze the latch. It is not super sturdy but I knew with past experience that wooden gates are not, especially ones this long. It will work for now and if I get a year out of it, I will be happy. But they need to be accurate with their descriptions because the length of the gate and hardware will not fit a 103″ doorway.
