   If you need a good pet gate you will not be disappointed with this one!
   Quality gates and extremely easy to install, especially compared to other gates we have had. Really easy to use and they have some good features. Plus they were about $100 cheaper than other gates that were definitely not made as well as these.

   Incredibly Tall; Sturdiest on Narrow Widths; Not Reinforced; No Certifications; Outdoor Use Too
   What am I reviewing?Heelalbaby Store’s (65”) Tall, (55”) Wide; Retractable Child/Pet Mesh GateImmediate comment.This is the absolute tallest gate I have ever had opportunity to select.How this arrived?This arrived in a very nice, somewhat heavy-duty, semi-plain brown, retail like corrugated cardboard package that had various information, including the age the children of this should be applicable for, which, in this case, suggested (6) to (24) months.Size of package?The package’s size is indicative of the gate’s size, in this instance, the package was (69”) tall, (4”) deep, and (3½”) deep.Weight of package?(7¼) pounds, which I though reasonable, considering the size of the gate.Instructions provided?Instructions were inside; however, this type of gate is intuitive in its set-up.What does this gate offer me?This gate offers me a solution to unauthorized random incursions (and other applications). It’s a more than capable gate, when correctly installed, that offers incredible height and a reasonable width 55” of deterrent, whether that deterrent is real or imagined (psychological).Comparable to other gates?Partially, this gate is comparable to other mesh type gates; however, a primary reason I was attracted to this particular gate is that its maximum stretch was a reasonable (55”), and the incredible height of about (65”), which is twice the height of a standard mesh gate; I also liked the color – white, which looks clean, however, does show soiling more so than black – most of these gates are white or gray and can really look soiled quickly, I did notice on the side of the box that a black colored version was available.Easy set-up?This is “not solely” a pressure mounted gate. Rather, this also has a drill-mounted installation. Therefore, when comparing to pressure mounted metal or wood gates, this requires I drill into my beautiful walls and/or woodwork to install. It goes fast, although it’s not that convenient to set-up as would a pressure mounted gate. Nevertheless, this offers flexible use, in terms of whether I want this extended or retracted, whereas that’s not the case with a fixed gate, which is always there, unless I completely remove the fixed gate. Here, since this does not have support rods, the short span helps, because a longer expanding gate I think is flimsier when support rods are not sewn into the gate; as this gate has no supports – the latest gates have vertical rods incorporated into the gate mesh to add stability. That’s why I think a narrower width is best.Install time?I was careful, on deciding where best to install this, because screws need to be used – with a drill. So, it took me more time. Expect at least (30+) minutes if you are a cautious installer and possibly (½) that time if you are more experienced and can make quick decisions, once I got over the fact that of a need to drill, it’s a somewhat straightforward process, however, I tend to complicate things I know will not be the same from when before I started. All hardware needed was there.It’s a psychological barrier.At the very least, this provides a psychological barrier. This also makes a good safety gate for a pet or age-appropriate child, so long as the pet and/or the child is not antagonized to want to breach the gate.The meshIts soft but tear resistant, it’s not perfect, but still makes a difference in my mind.CleaningI wipe this down with a warm damp rag, from water that has a few drops of vinegar, I then let dry, and then retract.Any certifications?I do not see any certifications from JPMA and/or ASTM.What is JPMA and ASTM?The Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association, Inc. (JPMA) developed a Certification Program to help guide people like me to buying products geared for children that are built with safety in mind. Certification is based on independent testing by a facility for compliance with the specific American Society for Testing & Materials (ASTM) standards. Once a product passes the tests, JPMA allows the manufacturer to label it with the JPMA Certified Seal.Is certification needed?From my understanding, such certification is not required to sell this in the United States.Other certifications?CSPIA specifically targets children’s products. CPSIA defines children’s products as any product designed or intended primarily for use by children aged 12 or younger]. I will let the reader decide whether compliance was achieved. However, I will note that there is considerable amount of information that would suggest some level, if not all CPSC requirements, which is a good thing.CPSC – An importer of a “child’s product,” which arguably this is, in addition to adults, must certify their product meets Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) safety standards and/or CPSIA [US Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) of 2008. I will let the reader decide whether compliance was achieved. However, I will note that there is some amount of information that would suggest some level, if not all CPSC requirements, which is a good thing.TÜV SÜD America certification?I see “no” TÜV SÜD certification mark.What is TÜV SÜD America?It’s a trusted partner that tests children’s products aimed at the US market to deliver safe and reliable products, it’s a symbol of product safety.OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification – which is one of the world’s best-known labels for goods tested for harmful substances. In my opinion, goods with this certification gives me confidence the product has a high safety threshold. I did “not” see that certification here.RoHS certified?No.RoHS stands for?Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS), which are European Union rules restricting the use of hazardous substances to protect the environment and public health.Date of production?07/2024When received?December 2024, so somewhat fresh from the factory.Best to use by date?Nothing referenced.Locking mechanismIts solid and secure for my needs.One hand operation?Yes, it’s possible.Mounting hardware?The screws are kind of a soft metal; I used a power tool which chattered on the screw, so I had to be cautious to avoid causing some damage.Mechanical parts?Retraction was smooth and quiet.UV resistant?This is being used outdoors – I saw no reference surrounding UV resistance, so far, there is no yellowing, however, I reside in a new development that is slowly being built, weather permitting, I think the gate shows the airborne dirt – white in color.Soft edges.All edges are soft and/or rounded.Material this is made from.Unknown, some sort of plastic and/or polyester.BPA fee?Unknown – and I wish there was a reference to confirm, one-way-or-the-other.ValueThere is no question, in my mind, even after taking into consideration its retail price, that I received fair value, there is no real competition because of the gate’s height. The retail price, at the time of this writing, January 2025, shows a (15%) discount off of its retail price, taking this down from a triple digit price to under triple digits. This offers competitive value.Is this perfect?No, but I like the gate, it works for my particular use.Brand name?No, which was not posted on the package – this is typical, the average gate has no brand name reference, whatsoever.Rating?Considering the above, it’s a weak five (5) stars at best for me, I think supporting rods, which are getting more common now, would have allowed me to rate this higher, but it’s still a five (5) star gate because of its unique height.I hope my thoughts added information.

   It’s big!
   I got this for a standing outdoor stairway at my mother-in-law’s house, as there would be a lot of young children around for the holidays. This thing is definitely tall enough that kids won’t be able to operate it, but it’s also so big that it may give some adults trouble. These roll-up gates can be kind of unruly, and this is doubly true for this one, which is twice the height of most others. While it extends up to 55″, I wouldn’t try to mount it in more than a three-foot-wide area.

   Huge and makes my office space feel very private.
   This is a people gate, not animals, lol. I am 5’4 and it is just taller than me.It was easy to get put together and not difficult to secure to the walls, but this is the first one I’ve had that required 3 different brackets on either side. It feels very secure, though, so I have no complaints there. I got this specifically to block off the area where I work so that I can’t be bothered, and it works wonderfully for that. I kind of feel like I’m working from home but in a cubicle again. You can see through it to keep an eye on your kids, etc., and it’s very well made.I use a smaller version of this gate at my storage unit, to block people from being able to see what’s inside my storage unit while I’m in it. There’s just a lot of things you can use these for and I’m very happy with the taller height.

   no more jumping dogs
   Ok, well they still jump but not over this gate! I did not think I would see gates this tall but I guess other people have the same issue – creative jumping dogs! This gate solves that problem for the most part. The gate is pretty straight forward like others I have used and mount up pretty easy with the included hardware. Everything is included to get it up and running.

   This pet gate is very good quality, I love it that it is tall so that my dog can I jump over it. It was very easy to install and it retracts very easily.Great value for the price, would definitely recommend!

   Works well
   It’s rare to find a gate this tall. It works well to keep children and pets where you need to them to be. It was pretty easy to install, and I appreciate that it is retractable. It’s a little on the pricey side, but other than that I am very pleased with it.

   65 Inch Extra Tall Pet Indoor & Outdoor Safety Gate, 55 Inches Wide Retractable Baby and Dog Gate
   This is an awesome gate that is probably a lot taller than most people really need. It’s approximately the same height I am at a little over five feet tall and would be ideal big dogs who can jump over the shorter gates. Keep in mind that it does have to be attached with screws so you’ll need a drill on hand and once remove it there will be small holes in your walls. If that’s not an issue though then it’s not very difficult to install and is nice and sturdy too. The mesh seems durable as well and I love that it’s retractable so it isn’t an eyesore when not in use. All in all a great product and if you have dogs who are pretty high jumpers or just big ole doggies then this gate will work great and at 55 inch wide it can fit larger spaces too… =)
