If you want to separate off part of the house from gentle animals or humans this is the solution. However, it should not be used as a safety gate. If an animal or toddler or other human wants to get on the other side, it’s very easy, but if they respect boundaries, it will work for you. I really liked the quality and the ease of folding – which is great for storage. It doesn’t look cheap and is actually quite pretty.

This dog gate is too lightweight, and the slates are too spaced out, to contain a small dog or puppy. First, my chihuahua pup stuck her head through the slats, eventually wiggling all the way through. Later, she began pushing against one of the partitions until she created an opening large enough to slither out of. The “gate” is well made and has sturdy hinges, but the balsa-type wood is as light as a feather. The “gate” didn’t contain my 2 lb. chihuahua pup – and it won’t contain your larger dog either unless they weren’t going anywhere in the first place.

I needed this to cover under my kitchen table because that’s where the cats food is and my dog kept sneaking to eat it. It’s perfect sizes and very sturdy. Only thing is I didn’t realize it had no finish or paint on it so it does give ya spliters. Just need to sand it and it will be perfect!

Good gate but itâs a little top heavy. If I bump it something is crashes down. But it cute & works ok for what we need.
