    LOVE THIS COLLAR
Martingale collars work like choke collars, without metal. It’s nylon. People just need to adjust the fit so that the collar is almost snug (can slip two fingers between collar and dog’s neck). If the martingale collar is adjusted properly for a dog it is just as safe as a regular collar. Safer, actually, because dogs CANNOT slip out of a martingale collar because it tightens when pulled. I got this one because I always take off my dog’s collar when I crate her, as a precaution. It was a small project to do that with a non-buckle martingale collar, because you have to first loosen the fit, then take off. With this buckle martingale collar, I can just unclip her. And also putting back on is easy as you don’t have to readjust the fit since the fit stays the same with a buckle. Since you have to loosen a regular martingale collar to take it off, you have to tighten a regular martingale collar after you put it back on. This buckle-martingale saves a lot of time and is safer than the regular type, since I can’t get lazy and forget to tighten the collar back up after putting it back on.Best investment for the safety and comfort of your dog as far as collars go, imho.

The ONLY collar you should use
I have been in dog rescue 24 years and a MARTINGALE is the only collar rescues use. Escape proof and long lasting Keep your best friend safe and BUY ONE!

Sizing is wrong in description, but a really nice collar nonetheless
I ordered this back in July for my 14 year old Shiba Inu who had a knack for popping martingale collars. Fortunately he was old and when he popped the collar he didn’t really run off. I had to make other collars pretty tight to keep them from popping but then they were hard to get on and off. This solved that problem.Sadly, our Shiba Inu (Masi) unexpectedly passed away a week ago (through no fault of this collar) so I won’t be able to report on how it holds up as we only got to use it for about two months.I first ordered a large because it listed a large as being 13″ to 20″ and Masi had a 15 inch neck. The large was WAY too big and I could not make it small enough to fit his neck. So the large will NOT work on 15 inch or lower — maybe it is supposed to be 16 inch and bigger?Easy exchange on Amazon to get the medium collar and that worked great.

    As advertised
Good fit, comfortably restrains dog when necessary (SQUIRREL!). Would purchase again.

    Great collar
This is an excellent collar that combines the ease of a very sturdy buckle w Martindale security. I use frequently when transporting rescue dogs & give the collar to the new owner knowing the dog will not slip the collar. Definitely make sure it is this brand as its the best! Hint: Make sure you measure the dogs neck so you get the proper size. I keep a variety of sizes in inventory. They come in a bunch of colors as well.

    Buy a size down
Our Goldendoodle measures 11″ and at 5 months got the medium size which the sizing chart says its to be good for 10″ – 16″. IT’S TOO BIG!!! Thank goodness she’ll grow bigger and this should fit properly in the coming months.Ordered a SMALL which should fit and perform it’s job correctly.Would have given 5 stars if the size was right from the onset. Would rather use this martingale collar for this gentler breed. Our Rottweilers use choke chains (Made in Germany). Should’ve followed the advise of the other reviews that recommended to buy one size smaller. At “full pull” this size collar compresses to just a regular collar with still enough clearance for two fingers. With other future dogs to enter our household, no problem having different collar stock for future use. The positives are: strong plastic snap that most martingales don’t have, quality vinyl straps, thick chromed metal rings. Will do another review once the Small arrives.Update:The Small arrived and fits snuggly with enough leeway to last for our dog’s neck to grow another inch. Am so pleased, now that it’s the right size, we ordered a second in purple to expand her wardrobe!!!UPDATE: The Small size arrived and the collar works as it should. With our standard sized Goldendoodle approaching 6 months old, this collar should be good til she’s a year old, then the originally ordered Medium, should them be as effective. First pic is Medium, Second is Small wherein at “full pull” compression is felt with no space for any fingers. Wife wishes they would make a small in 1″ as she finds the wider collar makes her dog cuter! I’m happy enough with the 3/4″. Will look to get purple color for Xmas with a matching leash. Am getting a kick of giving the wife her doggie surprises. For the same amount of happiness she gets, it’s way cheaper on my pocket than a handbag, clothes or shoes!!!!

    Great collar
Easy to adjust. Fits and looks great.

    Size up
I bought this for my Boston but I wish I would have sized up. It’s adjusted all the way out and it still gets too tight. When he is in the house I take it off so he will have some comfort.

Initially I was happy with the martingale ( purchased a medium size) until my husky was able to slip out of it & ran off. It was a dangerous & stressful situation for my son as my husky could have been kill or seriously injured. Our walking route was next to a busy highway with busy traffics on both side of the road day or night. Our walking route shouldn’t matter if the collar fits nicely and tightly around the neck! The snap on buckle was good as it can be fit around the dog’s neck with ease but it would be BETTER if they can cooperate the design where we can adjust the tightness of the collar. Another martingale in the bin for me😐😔😤

Terrible sizing info, I ordered a medium based on measuring my dog.Collar just arrived and does not fit even on the smallest settingI was replacing the same collar he has worn for the last 18 months with no issues so would love to give a great review but such a massive difference in his neck measurement and the collar he would be at risk of slipping out of it, going to try the small one considering the medium is so much bigger the small might actually fit (even though his neck measurement is to large for it!)

  11. christine griffith

These are the best collars to use as they check your dog without getting to tight, and slacken off when dog is in the right position.

  12. Dianela

  13. Donia Isidean

Perfect collar! Adjustable and sturdy snap.Works to help prevent your dog from pulling.Be careful selecting the size as your dog’s neck measurement is the collar measurement TIGHTENED. So sizing down should make the right size if your dog’s neck is at the lower end of the size range.
