Durable
Ive had this dog door installed for years and it still works. I suggest making sure you cut the hole in the door big enough that during season changes the swelling of the door material wont affect how the flap swings. I didnt cut mine big enough and instead of just cutting the hole bigger i forced the dog door frame into the hole and now in humid or rainy weather the flap has trouble swinging. But its still strong and durable. Ive got a jack Russel a german shepard mix a brittany spaniel and a wire haired dash hound and they all use it just fine. Ill buy this exact door again if this one ever breaks i like that the swinging door is heavy and strong

So much better than the last one
Update after about 2 years of constant use by 2 dogs and 2 cats: Still works perfectly with an excellent seal against the great outdoors. Great product! We had a flexible flap dog door for the last ten years. I hated it. It drove me up the wall trying to get it to seal. The flap invariably deformed around the edges and the cold air would whistle in. I could take it apart and use an iron on a low setting to straighten it out and get an okay seal for a while, but it only lasted a month or so and we were back to effectively having a gaping maw that ushered in cold air. The old door flap was also thin and I swear the cold radiated right through it.I bought a small cat door for my daughter that is similar to this design. It was so good at keeping the cold air and rain out that I finally decided to replace our old dog door with this one.Best thing I have ever done for keeping our house warmer and cutting down on the heating bills! What a wonderful improvement! I really can’t say enough nice things about this dog door. The dogs and cats were initially reluctant to use it, because the flap was solid and sort of whomped shut, but they adapted to it after a couple of weeks. It was not difficult to put in. I installed the previous dog door too. I had to enlarge the width of the previous hole and scabbed in a piece of plywood at the top. We also used some spray foam, in the gap behind the frame, to improve the weatherproofing. If you are looking for a dog door that really keeps the cold, wind, and rain out, then I think you will find this one meets your needs.

Excellent dog door.
This door worked really well. Bought this door in 2023 and had some slight difficulty installing on a metal foam door, other than that the door worked well for the wiener dogs we had at the time. We now have an almost 11 month old puppy and she chewed the bottom edge of the door causing one of the magnets to fall out leaving a roughly 1â X 2â hole where she chewed the door, with the cold weather weâve had this winter itâs been a challenge to keep the door sealed especially with our cats also using the door, they like to pull the door open with their claws. My one negative about this door is Iâve been unable to find a replacement door without having to buy the door with frame all over again.

Super convenient door for family dog.
We previously had a smaller door for our pup, but had to upsize to this one once she reached full size. She is able to go in and out of our home as she pleases, and the flap always closes after she goes through it. It comes with a door that can slide on and lock into place to prevent it from being used if you ever have the need. It took our pup less than 5 minutes to learn how to use the door with treat prompting from either side of the door. Highly recommend!

Best door!
My animals have gone thru several doors. Some have lasted under 24 hours. This door is awesome! The door could be thicker on the hinges but overall it seals very well . I have 3 large dogs ,2 small dogs and a pig that uses the door without any problems. Highly recommend!

Made to fit any door thickness.
Somewhat difficult to add side strips. Otherwise perfect fit. High quality pet door. Works as advertised. I would buy again. Would recommend this product.

Could easily be a better product.
Terrible installation design. Trace the inner door outline and add 3/8â… would it be so hard to include a template? Recessed nuts required patience to line up while vertical. I put some wadded paper to keep the nut in place and held it in with tape until I could get the 4 screws started. BTW, you have to cut the screws to fit the thickness of the door, dress the threads and pray you can get them started in the nuts without them escaping.Thin plastic frame. Cheap gaskets to cover the sharp metal edges left when cutting the hole.It shows a jig saw for installation. These designers need to install one of these and get a clue. Take my advice and use a grinder and cutoff wheel. Plunge cut and follow your traced outline.I have the smaller cat version of this door. Its a better design install. The larger dog door should be thicker and stronger.

This Is Great For any Pet
This door was a replacement for a pet door we had for decades. This door was a good value for the price. I gave it 4 stars because the directions for installation left a lot to be desired.
