    A hit at my house
These have one ingredient, beef liver. Which is great for pets on a limited ingredient diet or who have food sensitivities to things other than beef. Break easy. There’s a variety of sizes as not all “chunks” are the same size. But they’re easy to break up if you have to. My guys love the soft yet crunchy texture. They’re high value for my pups which makes them excellent for training.

    Topper for dinner
Love to see those wagging tails when this is added to dry kibble for dinner. Great quality, amazing amount for the price. Very healthy addition to our feeding.

Back to 5 Stars – Sourced and Processed in USA!
I’ve been buying Stewart Freeze Dried Beef Liver for my dogs for 20 years. It’s been a go-to treat that’s healthy and tasty for my pooches. The tubs always had “sourced and made in the USA” emblazoned on the lid and side of the tub, with prominent American Flag. That’s what you need to see to know what’s what. Many treats have an American Flag, and something like “processed in”. If something is sourced, made, processed etc. in the USA, rest assured the company will be screaming it from the highest tower.Sadly, with my most recent giant tub purchase, I noticed new packaging. Nothing new, companies often refresh their packaging. What is missing however is the giant American Flag on the lid, and tub. Now, there’s a tiny little flag back by the nutrition panel that says “freeze dried in”. Great. One more fantastic product falls by the wayside. This is a pricey product as-is, and there are other companies that are either sourced in the USA, Canada or New Zealand and state as much on the package. Until they decide to become transparent and list where it’s sourced, I’ll make the assumption it’s from China and laced with lead and assorted pesticides.[edit 5/24]I’m revising my review for Stewarts. The past 3 buckets I’ve purchased are sourced and processed in the good old US of A. I’m going to assume that the issue arose with our supply chain problems, so to be fair, they can’t be blamed for that. I wish there was a bit more transparency, but then it’s hard to change packaging when you don’t know when things will be back to normal. Anyway, I’ve been buying these for 21 years now, and am happy to report that I will continue to stick with Stewarts![edit 1/25]They’ve improved even further and are back to what I originally fell in love with years ago. The past 2 buckets I’ve purchased have been amazing. There’s no longer any weird shapes or crumbly pieces at all. They’ve all been universally the exact size of Dice (maybe a tad smaller), perfectly square and uniform firm texture. This is what I was buying 2003-2015. They obviously listen to feedback, have improved and I respect that. I know in this economy and screwed up supply chain it’s not easy. But Stewarts has earned my loyalty after 2 decades and a short rough path. 100% USA. Whole healthy single ingredient protien for your fur baby or hairy adult. Highly recommended.

My pups love it as a food topper!
recently tried the Stewart Freeze Dried Dog Treats in Beef Liver for my pup, and they have quickly become his favorite! The quality is outstanding, with a simple ingredient list that makes me feel good about what I’m giving him. These treats are packed with flavor and have a nice crunchy texture that my dog loves. I appreciate that they’re freeze-dried, preserving all the nutrients and taste. They’re perfect for training or just as a special reward, and they’re easy to break into smaller pieces if needed.I also love that they’re made in the USA, which gives me peace of mind about their safety. If you’re looking for a healthy, tasty treat that your dog will go wild for, I highly recommend the Stewart Freeze Dried Dog Treats in Beef Liver! They’ve been a hit in our house!

    Healthy & Tasty
My girls are very picky about their food and treats, and they both LOVE these beef liver bites. I give it to them as both treats and a topping with their food. Good product!

Convenient addition to a raw food diet
A few years ago, I started feeding my ferrets homemade raw food instead of kibble. (For those who don’t know, ferrets are obligate carnivores, like cats.) Organ meat is an important ingredient in any raw carnivore diet. I was buying raw liver from a local Vietnamese market, which I then had to freeze, thaw, cut up, cook because I don’t trust pork… the smell was awful…Then I found these.Yes, the tub is expensive. But you have to factor in the “freeze dried” of it all. And honestly, it’s a really big tub for the price. From what I can tell, freeze dried organ meat has the same nutrient value as raw organ meat at a fraction of the weight. Then, factor in effort. Where before I had to freeze and thaw and cut and cook and store, now I just drop a few pre-cut pieces into a blender with some chicken meat and done. The pieces are all different sizes, which may be a little annoying, especially if using as treats. But is is REAL liver and nothing else. And I have seen a noticeable change in my ferrets’ health since I started using freeze dried organs. They are softer, more active, and more playful. Nothing has changed except me replacing cooked organ meat with freeze dried organ meat and being able to put more into each batch of food as a result. The takeaway: freeze dried organs are indeed as nutrient dense as whole raw organs – more nutrient dense than cooked organ meat. They are also far easier to handle than whole raw organs. My own journey from kibble to raw diet has proven to me the positive effects of feeding any creature what it is in that creature’s nature to eat, and this freeze dried liver is a convenient way to add some healthy meat to a pet’s diet.

I recently acquired a new dog which needed training. Extensive research showed the best way was to use my dog’s daily ration of kibble and use that instead of treats to avoid weight gain and keep treats as high value rewards.I saw on Simpawtico dog training (on YouTube) to use some of this product ground up and sprinkled over the training kibble to make it more interesting. It totally worked. My not so food motivated dog, became more motivated. I now use a mini grater to grate some of the beef liver chunks over the training kibble. This is equivalent to a teaspoon of beef liver and the product is very shelf stable. I have so far used it lots and have hardly made a dent into the amount of product. So used correctly, very cost efficient, very stable and a product dogs go mad for. I would highly recommend if you are using via this method.

I am writing this review for my dog – she is word processing challenged. It seems to be her opinion that these freeze dried liver treats are quite delicious and very acceptable
