This is a great door and not plastic but aluminum
This door is a great deal and an awesome product. It was extremely easy to install and should last a very long time. The template that is included with it is made of heavy cardboard instead of paper like some others I have installed. I had the hole cut and the door installed in about 30 minutes. Also the double flaps keep out the cold very well. My dogs got used to it almost immediately even though the ones I already had on other doors were of the single flap design. Do yourself a favor and go ahead and purchase this door if you are thinking about it. You will not be sorry.

it works
i have had a dog door leading outside in my house for about 5 years and it has functioned extremely well. My dog has began the habit of waking up in the middle of the night and wanting to go out of my room though, so I got this to not have to wake up. Well, for a dog who has been using a dog door for year, my dog does not seem to like this door. she is a 35lb dog but she hates going through this door. i always hear her smacking the top or the sides of the door coming through the door, and its very loud even when she is gentle. the double flap will be good for those who use it as an outside door, but its a bit much for an inside door I think. so, I would say get a size up from what you think you need and maybe go with the single flap version if its an inside door. build quality is quite good and they give you everything but the tools to install this, which is better than my first door did (I had to buy extra bolts for my first door this one came with several lengths of bolt)overall, I would recommend this if you are in the market for a sturdy pet door, but please buy the size up.

I accidentally ordered the wrong size, but it worked out in my favor. I have no idea what brand the old doors were… It was 15 years old, the flapper was black and broken, and the block off plate has been MIA for a decade.The doggie door is built into my pool enclosure, and as mentioned above I got the wrong size. Thankfully my enclosure doesn’t have pan at the bottom. So I was able to raise the lower support bracket, reuse the top screen, and roll new screen at bottom.Quality is good, my dogs hated it at first but have warmed up to it. For the average tinkerer I’d rate the installation as medium, because a lot can go wrong. Thankfully, both my sister and I worked building pool enclosures while in high school… so we knew how to handle my mistake.

This was easy to install. Good value for the cost. Super durable and the door seals very nice. Our dog is able to come and go easily.

Little difficult to install
Had to call a buddy over for an assist on this to find the job. We both thought the screws were to short. After we put clamps on the doggie door insert to hold in place it squeezed the regular door enough to use the longest screws in the pack. That bit of information isnât in the instructions.

This is a very nice dog door. I ordered the medium door first (got it for free on Vine) going by the weight chart. My dog only weighs 45lbs but he is very tall so when it arrived I could see that he would probably have issues using it. I gave the first one to one of my neighbors and they loved it. I went ahead and purchased a large door and installed it. It was easy to install it has a template I taped to the door before cutting the hole. Once the hole was cut it fit perfect and was operational in 15 minutes. I had to shove him out it the first time but after that he has gone in and out without any coaxing. It is made of metal and feels very sturdy. Both me and my dog are very happy with the door.

This aluminum dog door will handle our two Scotties at full speed!
For a few years now we’ve had our two Scotties trained to ring a bell when they want to go outside or come in, but they’ve made friends with the squirrels and racoons in the backyard oak tree and have turned it into a game of DingDongDitch and we don’t want to play any more! We used to have a dog door into the back yard years ago for our much larger golden retrievers, but had covered it up due to the racoons getting into the house, but that’s another story. I saw this perfectly-sized dog door and decided to give it a shot. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow – even if you’re experienced in this sort of thing it’s always good to follow the instructions – and the most challenging part was making sure that the four connecting screws lined up. Once I had that all lined up, the two pieces slid together perfectly and I sealed it up tight. Voila! It works! The door has two separate flaps which work well to keep out the elements and there is a fitted plastic board that slides into place on either side so that you can close it off at night or whenever you need to. The door is made of aluminum so it should last longer and take more dogs racing through it than some of the plastic models out there.We’re very happy with this heavy-duty dog door and now all we have to get through is training the pups to use it… If we can teach them to ring a bell then this should be a piece of cake!Definitely recommended.

My cats are indoor/ outdoor and this was the first project in the new house. It gets a bit stiff in the winter, but putting it in the side door helps cut down on freezing. And no more acts of retributionâ¦
