Sturdy, durable, and easy to use
I was looking for a retractable leash longer than normal to help with training my 6 month, 35 lb husky. I was reluctant to try this leash due to how thin the line is. But I gave it a try figuring I’d return it if it was a cheap quality or flimsy. After using this leash daily, for several weeks, in many different situations, I absolutely love it. I have not experienced any issue with the auto retraction (as I thought might happen) and the line is very sturdy. It is easy to use and is now my go to leash over any of my other standard length leashes. If I need the leash to be shorter as we are in a store or situation where my dog needs to be close to me, I just set the stop and it stays at the length I set. I absolutely would recommend this leash.

Heavy Duty Retractable for Play
This lease is a bit heavy for me and the 10 pound puppy. However, I like it because i can grip it well and has a lot of line for the high energy puppy to chase a ball.I did order the strap for it too since losing grip on a retractable is a bit traumatic. The strap should come standard as a safety device.It tends to be easier to lock and unlock the lease than it is to just hit the brake. They could make the brake button as easy to press as it is to lock and unlock the lease.I wish they would add a ring to the bottom of the handle to attach accessories, but I used a zip tie to attach a clasp to attach accessories to the lease. Most retractable leases don’t have an accessory ring so it wasn’t expected.

Sturdy
Sturdy Leash. Ribbon cord does not tangle or twist. Great color selection. Two issues: First, I have big hands and they just fit in the handle. Wish the handle was just slightly larger. Second, the lock mechanism can be complicated at times. There are two buttons/levers that need to be manipulated when it locks up and when the dog is tugging on the line its difficult to unlock. Otherwise, Im very happy with the leash.

Great Retractable Leash
Very sturdy, handle is comfortable, leash retraction is very smooth, leash line itself is a tough strap that I doubt would snap or tear under pressure but I doubt would withstand chewing. I’m not a big fan of these style of leashes since they typically don’t provide clear communication to your pet (the tension from the retraction system makes a leash-trained dog think you’re pulling on them), and that’s still true with this one but it’s to be expected with any retractable leash. That tension/pulling sensation will increase for the dog the farther out they go. Still, not what I bought it for, and it functions very well within its design. Genuinely heavy-duty, tho I have no doubt even the best locking mechanism won’t be able to stand a beating from a 100lb dog that’s not leash trained. Overall, if you like a retractable leash, this is definitely a good one.

Retracting issue
Itâs nice to have the footage to allow the dog to roam. Great stopping feature. But when you need to retract it, about 1.5â doesnât retract like the first few times.

This is an excellent leash overall. The build quality is outstanding, with strong, durable materials that feel premium. Itâs also not overly bulky, which is a plus. The variety of color options is great as well.I have a Doberman who loves to pull, and this leash handled him with no problemâit feels very secure and reliable.My only suggestion would be to add a built-in section for doggy bags, which would make it even more convenient.Pro Tip: If you plan to use this leash to tie your dog to a post, consider whether your pup is a power chewer. I made that mistake and ended up having to buy a replacement for obvious reasons.

If your pet chews DO NOT BUY!
I have a medium sized boxer/corgi mix and she bit right through the leash in one snip. I bought the larger on for the length. All of the other materials and features work great. The rope just cuts REALLY easy. I have had to retie it several times and just use it in our yard instead of for hiking. Looking for another brand as we speak.

Purchased my first Emperor Pets lead in July 2022. It was 26′ in length. Which was great for my needs. Training my dog I could take him in the garden and let him wander around having the ability to get him in without moving from my spot. The lead is still good and sturdy after 2 years and I loved it. Now my dog is older, I wanted a 16′ leash so that I could take him for walks on my local trails. It is easy to handle, and you can shorten and length when required with no issues. First brand I purchased in 2022, after 3 months it stnapped. Then I purchaed the Emperor Pets brand and extremely happy I did. Definitely recommend.

It’s good, I like it and it’s really long. My dog can go off and sniff and run a round when on walks and hiking. It does get stuck and it’s a bit hard to lock sometimes or unlock but it’s been through the ringer and still holding strong.

Used three times and the lead snapped. I was out with my 13kg small puppy and the lead snapped as he was wearing it, heâs a small dog and well under the weight limit. This should not have happened. Luckily we was in the park however if we was on a main road he would be dead . I have asked Amazon to look into this item for safety reasons. Please please do not buy!
