A must for all puppy owners
My puppy is 18 months old and I think she will be the most successful competitor of all my seven previous labs. She is smart and definitely has the âwant.â Not only is she an excellent retriever, but is very biddable and has perfect line manners. We were fortunate to have been introduced to Lisaâs methods of training well before her book was published. Rose loves each and every training day. Every day is filled with games and treats to show her the way to succeed. âTraining Your Puppy to be A Super Retrieverâ is an excellent resource for the amateur trainer who wants to train their dog themselves. A must for all puppy owners.

Best Retriever Puppy Training Manual out there
I am a rookie in this sport and as such have consumed many books and videos on the topic of raising and training my labs to be great retrievers for sport and field. This is by far the most concise and complete method. Lisa explains each exercise clearly and includes explanations of the desired end results. So the reader understands not only the what but also the why behind the training. The most valuable aspect of this method is that it is fun and enjoyable for the human and the dogs! I have been caught up in other methods that felt tedious. The bottom line is if you are training a method that feels like a game both you and the dog look forward to the sessions and train more often and with joy and anticipation. If you are training a retriever for hunting, field trials or hunt tests, buy this book before you get your puppy. It is the only puppy book you will need!

Misleading.
This book should be more clear in their description. This is geared toward the sport of showing Goldens and not much help to those of us who are looking for practical help on how to train a new golden puppy. Extremely disappointing for the the $45 they charge. This book is very small and WAY overpriced!

Valuable information and training guide
I purchased this book for my daughter who is a first time retriever owner. What was to be a family dog has now become a family training a retriever. The approach of this guide applies to the very beginners right through seasoned vets. They are having fun and successful! Building a great relationship with their pup! They are all learning to be a team!

Great book from one of the best dog trainers.
I was very excited when I heard about Lisa’s book and now I can apply some of these techniques when working my puppy. I may not be doing retriever work but I know anyone with a puppy would benefit. I’m one of Lisa’s former students and I have learned so much through the years.
