Well-Made and Functional
We love this product, and we have now purchased three of these for different locations. It helps to be a little handy when installing these, but don’t blame the manufacturer if you’re not. We have big dogs, and they have not hurt these. We did notice that the trim on the bottom of the flaps tends to slide right or left and hit the frame as it flapped, but a little black tape fixed that permanently. The most recent one we purchased had an improvement, which was the addition of an aluminum handle placed on the sliding door, which makes it easier to insert and pull out.Update — the screws that were provided to attach the handle to the door have heads that are a little too narrow and could slip through the holes. So I added small washers. Unfortunately, the washers made it so that the screws were just a bit too short and kept coming off. So I went to the hardware store and purchased two screws with the same thread and diameter but which were 1/16″ longer. Perfect! Problem solved.I highly recommend these doors.The one issue I had is that on this latest purchase, the aluminum sliding door was a little rough on one edge and required some filing to remove burrs, and I had to re-drill one of the 9/64″ holes for the handle screw, but no biggie. This is still a 5.

Sturdy dog door
We have four large dogs. This is the sturdiest door I’ve seen yet. It has an all aluminum heavy gauge frame. The double flaps have five magnets each for positive closing. It replaced a Petsafe plastic door that broke and fell apart within two years. The installation was painless and quick since the old opening was used with just slight shimming needed. The only thing that worries me is that I don’t see replacement flaps offered and my experience with other doors is that these are wear parts that will eventually need replaced.

Door works great but magnets slide around so it doesn’t always close properly. I’m going to glue them in place which should fix the issue.

Weak door flap design
I almost never write reviews because typically I donât get something completely useless but in this case the door is just that. The door flaps do not stay on the hinge. The hinge screws do not stay in the hinge and all the magnetic components slip and slide off the doors. My application is heavily used. Installed on climate controlled dog shed for access in and out of dog run.

Really keeps out the cold compared to a single flap door
My mud room instantly warmed by 20° when I put this in replacing an old single flap dog door during a Colorado January cold snap.Easy to install. Good instructions included along with a paper template for first time installation.

Had to order replacement since the original flaps started falling off
I think the quality is average. Had to buy a second one because the flaps started falling off….my door has been cut and I am sure that the only way I can try some other brand is to re-cut the hole bigger…which I didn’t want to do. Kind of stuck for now.

This dog door is very sturdy and it was relatively easy to install. I am in love with the look⦠itâs gorgeous! My Australian Shepherd uses the XLarge size. My cats use the door as well so I like that it has magnets and will close behind the cats as well. I highly recommend this brand!!

The product was easy to install and my dogs got the hang of it right away. Now they can go in and out as they wish all winter and their dog room stays warm. Highly recommend. I ordered the XL size that is great for my 110lb tall Chesapeake Bay Retriever.

Had it installed a year ago. Size was perfect for my Rotti mix and he loves the access it gives him. Flaps started coming loose after about 6 months, but even one flap was affective in keeping it sealed.The tiny screws to hold the flaps in between two metal tracks at the top are only threaded on the outer track and the holes are stripped with before you start. I did try ordering a replacement flap thinking that would help but no….. They continued to fall out on a regular basis.At this point I have put the screws through the flap first and then into the metal track inside the door. Creating new holes so we will see how long this lasts. A better design would be to have a nut and bolt that goes through holes in both the tracks and the door flap instead of just trying to do a pressure fitting.Conclusion is love the size and having the door but need to get creative long term for flaps.
