Flap is an adequate replacement, but be sure to keep your old hardware
The 5 year old flap on my PetSafe storm door cracked after being exposed to several sub-freezing days and nights. I purchased this flap to replace it. The flap fits the space nicely. It is opaque and a little thicker than the original flap. However, the screws that came with the flap are wood screws that are much too long and have rounded heads and sharp pointed ends. The original screws are flat-headed, short enough that they did not protrude beyond the flap frame and have blunt ends. This is important because there is a hard case that goes over the flap that keeps cold air out when the pet door is not in use, and the round-headed screws make it unusable. Also, this flap did not have a metal bar at the top that holds the screws in place. I was able to detach the one that was on the old flap and use it with the new flap. Bottom line here is be sure to keep your old hardware and use it when replacing the flap if you have a PetSafe brand pet door.

These flaps were a good replacement for the flaps on our PetSafe door. The fit was fine and they were easy to install. They are not clear however, but the dogs didn’t seem to care. I was happy that they sealed up the opening just fine. They do not come with the metal strap that is at the top of some PetSafe doors so be sure to keep that. I actually reused my old screws as well. They worked well for me and the price was much more economical that buying the OEM product or getting a new door. I give them 4 1/2 stars.

Excellent replacement!
We have been through at least four dog door flaps. Each time the semi-opaque material has fractured in frigid temperatures and then cracked through. But this flap I have high hopes for!! The material feels sturdier. I wasnât sure how I felt about it being opaque and white, but I donât think the dogs have an issue with it. It fits the inner dimension better than any flap I have used previously. Recommended.

The old one only 12 monthâs ripped at the eye holds. This one comes with reinforced eyelets and the correct screws very easy to install
