Perfect Replacement Part
Our doggie door was showing its age so we bought this product to freshen it up. Exact replacement with no issues at all. Better to just replace whatâs needed and save the extra dough for dog food!

Largest size: Sturdy enough for a Bronto
Installation of the largest size dog door was a bit hard because it’s wider than the joist spacing in our house, but there’s no way around that and it’s not the fault of the product. The dogs now have access to the outdoors at will, which is surprisingly frequent. The flaps magnetically seal and keep the house from becoming a wind tunnel even during high winds. The no-access sliding door is strong enough to keep a willful Bronto from barging into the house even at full speed. (Think “Here Fifi! Faster!” from The Far Side.)It’s a very well designed product.I recommend installing it somewhere without high speed straight line access for the dogs. Use the same entrance safety techniques as seen at embassies worldwide: there should be a 90 degree turn immediately before entering the door and another 90 degree turn after entry to keep entry speed down.

More than I can chew
Great product. Easy to install if your handy, I am not made quite the mess in the end needed a professional to finish the job. The template for marking the wall/door was ripped and had to be pieced back together. In all the parts were all there. Had to buy the wall inserts separate. And yes it has to magnetic flaps which do cut down how drafty that corner of the living room is. Not a cheap plastic but must be carefully not to over tighten bolts. The female connection are plastic and over tightening can crack them.

Ok
Didn’t fit the wall. It was a little short in the width. The construction guy put a screw on it to be able to keep in place.

It is somewhat hard to put in
With my dog like it we like the double flaps. That helps cut down any air infiltration. We have the super large because we have a large Labrador and she really likes it. This way you’re not slave to the dog. She can go out . when she wants to. If you’re going to put it through the wall you need to get the accessory kit cuz otherwise you cannot get the long bolts they’re not available at Home Depot.

Have to cut the bolts…….
So overall it is great and it did its job how it was supposed to. I am just glad we had the tools needed to complete the job. The plastic extenders snap in two places to give it three different sizes to use. This worked good and I only needed to snap down one size and it was easy to do. The only problem is that there is only 1 size of bolts…. for the price of this thing, I would expect the bolt/screw sizes you need for whichever size available for this specific extension. Sounds reasonable right? Well no, they only give you bolts for the biggest size. So if you need smaller ones, which you most likely will, you need to cut them to size. Thankfully I had an angle grinder that allowed me to cut through the metal bolts. In the end it worked great, but just be aware that you will probably have to cut the bolts. This was installed on an exterior wall in our garage.

Great doggy door
We installed this door in our house wall for our cockapoo. It was fairly easy, but the hardest part was getting up enough nerve to actually cut a hole in our stucco wall. Once the hole was cut the door itself was easy, especially with the “tunnel” piece which was very sturdy. Since the floor of our laundry room is 2 feet above the outside ground level, we built a mini deck and stairs for our pup. It is great not to have to take her out all the time. I highly recommend this doggie door.

Needed for Installation of Ruff Weather Doggie Door
This is a part that is required if installing the Ruff Weather Doggie Door in the wall. It should be included with the door kit, and donât understand why it is not. All the other doors come with the âbridgeâ for the door cut out, but not this one.The part is sturdy and closes the opening, making it weatherproof from wet dogs coming in, and keeping the bad weather from affecting your walls. Very much worth the price when you donât want water in your walls and house.

I can’t believe someone manufactures and sales this trash. Only longer bolts are useful from this wall kit. Its flimsy, its slightly smaller then opening for flaps to work properly, its not made to be attached to any part of the doggie door. It just floats inside. LOL. Being extra large size, like 17″H makes it to bow a lot to the inside, obviously bloking door flap from opening.Manufacturer: just make it proper, with like grove on edges, so both parts of doggie door would go inside that grove. Make separate kits for 2×4 or 2×6 wall.Again this kit is pure garbage. Im removing it and gonna reframe opening with birch plywood. I will paint it and will be able to replace if will wear out too much. I suggest everyone to do the same and stay waaaay away from this trash

Absolute garbage. This item makes it so the door doesnt close properly at all. But what can I do now, with a giant hole in my wall just have to go with it and let all the bugs ..rain..snow and wind into my house apparently . Can NOT BELIEVE how much it cost for this piece of crap that doesnt so what its suppose to at all. It doesn’t attach to the door. Except for 2 little pieces of double sided tape that dont do basically anything. So its just kind of floating in the middle with air gaps and it isn’t flush so the flaps catch on it..GARBAGE!!!Only but the door if you plan on installing it in a door!
