Perfect – having battery backup makes this electric dog door my #1 choice.
This dog door is amazing and being able to have a back up battery in case of power failure is wonderful. Power goes out in my area on a frequent basis, usually the power comes right back on, but sometimes not. Now I don’t have to worry about my big dog getting stuck outside or not being able to get out of the house.

  2. Robert T Covolo

One Battery last about a full Month
Love this product. No cords going to my dog door. The battery lasts about a month, depending on how much my dog goes out.Pro: No cords going to the dog doorCon: I guess you have to change out the battery (I don’t really view this as a con)

  3. Trigirl.4

Having the batteries are nice but you definitely need two.
I like using the batteries instead of plugging the door in, but the batteries don’t last very long. So it is a good thing I have two batteries.

  4. Keith Kellum

    The right one
This is the right product for my doggy door.

  5. Concerned Customer

    Only Use As A Backup
This product is NOT what other reviewers mention. One of the two batteries I received doesn’t hold a charge. It lasts for 2 days and then has to be replaced. The other lasts 1 week with regular use.I would not recommend these as the only way to operate the door. These are purely a backup to power with how frequently they have to be changed, which is unfortunate given my door isn’t near a power source.

  6. Portia

    Did the job.
It fixed the problem and our pup is back to being able to use his door.

  7. Tazmanjms

    Reliable
    Stays charge for along time

    Charging kits don’t work!
Charging light never turns green. We don’t know whether it’s charging or not, and the battery light on the door itself remains red too. Im anticipating the whole unit to stop working and it wasn’t cheap! Messages left on customer service line have not been returned. Reviews regarding customer support are poor.We LOVE the door, when it’s working. When and if it shuts down, we all (including my 4 dogs) will be at a loss.
