The best dog ecollar training guide for a reactive German shepherd
Clear, concise, and super easy to follow, this quick read helped me understand my dogâs reactive behavior in a way that made it easier to train him and ease his anxiety. I feel confident in my commands and I can finally take him for a walk in the neighborhood or to the vet without worrying about his behavior being a problem. Plus, it explains the benefits of ecollars and how theyâre not harmful to your dog, which many owners believe. While my dog was trained at Ridgeside K9 Ohio (the authorâs pet dog facility), this book solidified everything for me. The content in the book is very similar to the hands-on training we received. Good training for reactive dogs can also be expensive, so this is an affordable way to get started, though an in-person trainer is still important.Using the e-collar with Stanbroâs instructions has been a total life-saver. If you have a reactive dog or simply struggle getting your dog to listen and are interested in using an e-collar, you NEED to read this book. It wonât take long, but the lessons it teaches will be lifelong for you and your dogâs relationship. Plus, for pet dog owners, you get to learn a little about working dogs!

On Point
This is the best and most concise how to book Iâve ever read. In a world that some see the e-collar as in-humane, Eric explains how and why that an e-collar is the best and most humane way to train / handle your dog. That being said it must be used correctly and not as a heavy punishment device but as a communication tool! To note, Eric owns several businesses that he trains dogs for. This book is a step by step guide for the DIY person, professional trainers and handlers alike. I see this as a complete dedication to enhancing the lives of every dog that this method and book can reach. I will certainly steal many of his sayings and explanations. Please check out Ericâs podcast as well, Working Dog Radio.

Great book
Great book, very easy to read. Ericâs insight, knowledge and personality come through in this book. This book gives valuable information beyond the use of an ecollar to help readers better understand dogs.

Must read if you have working breed
This book is a fast, easy read. It doesn’t have all the fluff that most books do. It tells you, “this is what you do, and this is why.” I have a GSD (pet) and implemented some of his advice about talking less and showing the dog that they are in control of the corrections they receive. I just walked my dog in a heel with minimal corrections by a rottie that was barking at her. This book is going to take my dog who was already pretty good to the next level.

A must read for dog owners, trainers & handlers alike
This book is an easy read packed full of invaluable information and concepts that will benefit anyone that owns dogs or works with dogs. The concepts are clear and well explained and apply to a variety of dogs from soft and shut down to hard headed working dogs. Highly recommend this 1hr read to level up your skills!

Knocked it out of the park.
Whether you’re a new or seasoned handler, you can benefit from reading this book. Reinforces a lot of things but also exposed me to new ideologies. I hope he writes another book. His training methods have helped me a lot!
