Great for trail dogs in Jeeps.
This thing works great! I was a little worried at first, just due to introducing something new to my dog, whether or not she would use it. I got this for when I take her for rides in my Jeep, but I wanted to get her accustomed to it. I filled it with water, I set it down, showed her the water, and she’s been using it ever since. She likes it better than her 5 gal jug /water bowl. The design works well. It doesn’t spill at all. You can pick it up by the handle and it won’t spill either. Easy to fill and clean. Holds plenty of water, especially for smaller / medium dogs…mine is only 55 lbs and she’s been using it for 2 days, and it looks to have another 3-4 days worth still in it. It won’t replace her 5 gal bowl for the house, but it’s nice to know it’ll last plenty long enough out on the trail. Large dogs might (or might not) balk at it. The bowl itself is kind of small (about 3 3/4″ at the top, 1 3/4″ where most of the water is), and it keeps the water level in the bowl low (to avoid spills). Again I don’t know if it’s an issue for larger dogs or not. Just something to think about (it does look bigger in the pics). Other then that, I read a complaint about the bowl being hard to screw in? Not mine (but mine isn’t the blue bowl in the pics, it’s a light grey, which looks better IMHO). It’s no harder than the lid on her food bowl hopper. Turn it backwards ’till the threads seat, then screw it forward. Easy enough.Overall I think it’ll be great for the trails to keep her hydrated in the AZ heat. Heck, you can even put ice in it.

Easy Use Dog Water Bowl
It took my dog awhile to get used to using this, but once she figured out what it was for she has no problem. It is nice to have water in the car all year long for my dog, and that she can get to water without emptying it because of uneven seats or ground. It is easy to fill, easy to use, and easy to carry along to a picnic, store in the car, or lay on the seat during long trips.

Working out well
It can be spilled, but your dog needs to work at it. The first time I put this into the crate with my German Shepherd puppy who is almost three months old he had dumped about half the water out by tipping it over on it’s side within a half hour or so. I had to take his bedding and him out and clean it up. He was NOT happy about it!The next day, tried again, and it appears he has learned his lesson and didn’t dump it again. Now it’s working very well – he can get water any time he wants, but it’s not easily spilled when he’s just sleeping and moving around. So, it’s a big win, since he was smart enough to figure out he does not want to dump it. 😀 Now I can leave him there for a while without worrying about him getting thirsty or hungry. We are both happy campers! I’m sure it’s going to be a big help when he’s taken out and about in the car too.More on this item: Dog is now 5 months old. I found that if I didn’t put something hard in there for him to chew, he would resort to the water bowl, putting holes in it so it didn’t work properly. So, if you put in into a crate with your dog, make sure you have something else for them to chew on that is hard. Also noticed that he has figured out that if he puts his paw and some weight on the big part, it pushes more water into the bowl and he can drink it faster. As soon as he lifts his paw, what’s left gets sucked back and it goes back down to the usual level. Smart dog! So, it works well for a bigger dog like him that is pushing 60 lbs now.All it all, I’m happy with this. It keep him from pawing the water, making a mess, and makes sure it’s contained, along with being handy in the car. As long as I can keep him from chewing it! I’m thinking about getting a hanging waterer for his crate, because this takes up too much room now that he’s gotten so much bigger, but this is great for car use.

Fantastic
Very smart design. We keep one in the back of the car to have ready for the beach and dog hikes. Our dogs our small (20 lbs) smoosh faced dogs and they have no trouble drinking from the bowl, even though it is recessed. This is not entirely spill proof. The way it is designed is that: when the bowl is horizontal, only an inch or so of water is accessible. If the bowl is suddenly flipped over, that little bit of water would indeed spill out, but then the flow of water would cut off. It is not spill proof. It avoids big spills. The material is a thick plastic, seemingly very durable. I just drop it down onto whatever ground I’m walking on, without fear of it breaking.Sometimes I would carry a collapse-able bowl to fill up when we’re near a fountain, but many times now I’ll just carry this along during our hike to have water accessible anywhere. It’s a little annoying having to carry it by hand, but if you have some rope, you can tie together a loop and wear it over your shoulder. My only wish is they could come up with a way to totally seal up the bowl when not in use, so that there is completely no worry of spills, so that you could carry it in a backpack.Well worth the price, will last for ages.

Excellent Travel Bowl
This is a great bowl! I have people at the dog park always asking me where I got this (I demand a commission!!) It works great in the car and I take it to the park. The water stays at a low level to help keep from spilling along with the blue screw top design. If I don’t want other dogs sticking their dirty little noses in my bowl, I can just flip it upside down until my dog is ready to drink. The dogs seem to flock to it. I have had this for over a year and recently bought a second one as a spare. I have an 80lb Shepherd mix who has prefers this over his giant water dish at home. Weirdo.Note: Larger/wider head dogs like the bulldog, may not be able to get their face in there to drink. The inside dimension of cap is 3.875â wide and it tapers down. Itâs 3â deep.Be warned: it does spill at 45 degree angles. The pictures are for scale. My dog likes to lie down while he drinks at the park (gets kinda pooped out) and the other dog is a little puppy.

Love it! Absolutely spill proof and doesn’t soak the carpet in the van. If you want to fill the drinking part more full you gently step on the top and the bowl fills quickly. Not too heavy to carry on hikes and the handle is pretty comfortable. I put a small piece of rug pad under it to keep in from sliding in my van. Tough and durable, well worth the price in my opinion.
