Very good option for a dog with leg issues
My Rottweiler has variety of ongoing leg issues and requires the use of a ramp to get in and out of my SUV. I have tried several different types of ramps with limited success. I have had ramps that broke at the hinges or came apart and were just awkward and heavy. So it was back to the internet to do more research on ramps! There are several things in particular I like about this ramp. It is pretty light and easy for me to lift in and out of the car to set up. I really like that it folds up – there aren’t the various anonying issues that you find with the telescoping ramps – but I must warn you to be careful of your fingers when you fold it back up to put it away. The ramp is solidly built and there is very little “give” when a large dog trots up and down it. The biggest plus is the actual length of this ramp. It is longer than other ramps I have seen, which means that it has a more gentle incline which is very helpful to dogs with leg issues. Yes, you need a little more room when you set it up, but dogs with leg issues do much better on a gentle incline. There is great traction on this ramp as well and I haven’t had any problems with any of my dogs slipping, including my Rottie with the leg issues. This ramp is a little more expensive, but well worth the money if you have a dog with leg issues. If your dog doesn’t have leg issues or isn’t a senior, then I would suggest that you take a look at the shorter version of this ramp. Overall, this is a very well made ramp and it has made it much easier for my Rottie to get in and out of my SUV.

Nice ramp, but my dogs won’t use it
This is a nice ramp, lightweight, yet sturdy. It came with a loose nut floating around in the packaging bag and no instructions, but with so few parts, it was easy to see where it went and put it back on.I have 2 80 pound geriatric (by vet standards, although they agree to disagree with the vets age thingy) dogs with severe hip dysplasia. We often have issues after a long walk getting the dogs in the truck and I have a bad back, so lifting them is killing me. This ramp looked like the perfect solution. It folds up and stores nicely, it’s lightweight and easy to handle and it’s super non-skid/slip.I set it up, took the first dog out on a leash and he would not set foot on the ramp. He would go to one side or the other, but NOT touch the ramp. I tried everything, he just wouldn’t use it.Then I put my female on the leash. She tried repeatedly to get on it but she wouldn’t walk straight up it, she kept trying from the side so that one of her rear legs would fall off. I finally got her on it but she was terrified and slinked up it digging her nails in the whole way, not a pretty sight, for a normally proud, confident dog who LOVES getting in the truck, because truck means walk! So, I have to return it because they will not use it. My back’s very angry about this, but it’s just not going to work out for us. One thing I did notice is that this would probably be better for smaller dogs, or larger dogs who were trained on an agility ramp at one time. Also, if you have a dog with mobility issues, a longer ramp may suit you better to decrease the incline. This is quite steep and they really have to use their backend to push to get up the ramp. So, that’s my 2 cents, hope this is helpful. Not a bad ramp at all, if your dogs will use it, but if they have mobility issues, go with a longer ramp.

Great product
I love this. Both dogs use it and it has made a big difference for my older dog. We opened it in the house and gave them treats and had them just walk back and forth on top of it. We then moved it to the car and there was no problem teaching them to use it to get in the car. If you try this method, try it outside on the ground, because there were little tiny metal shards that came off the ramp when I first pulled it out of the box. I don’t see them any longer, so I think it was just from the manufacturer or happened during shipment.Because it only folds in half, it’s really long so I usually park further out in the parking lot and take up 2 spaces so I can safely get my dog in and out of the car. The length allows for an incline that isn’t too steep. It is perfect for an older dog or one with ailing knees and joints. It’s well made and it’s very durable for one of my dogs who’s approximately 90 pounds. It’s not too heavy for me to lift it.The only drawback on it, is the length when you put it in the car. It’s so long and thick that it barely fit’s in the back seat and when it’s folded, the thickness doesn’t allow for my passengers to sit in the back seat comfortably. So, I would say that it’s perfect if you have somewhere to put it or don’t have passengers.I would definitely purchase this again.

Sharp edges
The ramp works fine; I’ve trained my dog quickly to use it. Big problem — where the ramp folds there are 4 nearly razor sharp edges. As you can see by the picture, I found them. I have since filed the edges and added duct tape, but any quality control check at all b y the manufacturer would have discovered such a hazard. If I had to do it again, I’d buy another type.

Good DEVICE
We were excited about this ramp. My Pups, not so much. It looked good, worked on steps, and sturdy. One senior age dog used it some, the other senior dog was intimidated by it. Donât know why.
