Easy install
Bought this the end on November but just got to install it. I replaced a decrepit old door of a different brand with what I hoped would be at least similar dimensions. And lucky me they were excellent, so install was a breeze. Just have to wait for warm weather to caulk and paint around it as the surface frame is considerably smaller. So far itâs operating as it should and the flaps are quite pliable. I have 2 dogs and they both treated it as they did the old door. Frame seems sturdy enough and packaging was excellent.

Large dog door
Installed this for large 79 pd tall thin Golden Retriever. Works well for her. The little sister had to get used to it but after 3 days she uses it with no issues. Well made and should last years.

The flaps are working great with a little adjustment.
The flaps are working great. I had to adjust the metal piece in all of the lower jambs to line up better with the magnets in the flap. No big deal just unscrewed the miter brackets and swapped the bottom and middle weather strips around until they lined up.

Review for: MAVRICPOWER Aluminum Medium Dog Door with Two Magnetic FlapsI am very pleased with this dog door. It appears to be well-made and was pretty easy to install. I especially like that it has two flaps as well as two locking panels (one on the outside of the door and one on the inside of the door)I installed this on a metal faced, foam core exterior door to my garage. The layout template that give you works well, although I would have liked to see a ‘center’ indicator (side to side) to make layout it a little easier.The first and most important step is to properly lay out the cutting template. You need to do this with both sides of the door so make sure you are using the same reference points. For me, I measured down from the top of the door (the bottom of the door has a metal flange that is different in size on the outside) as well as I measured in from the door knob side of the door. Since my door has a metal skin and is fairly light weight, I used a small cut off saw to cut the metal skin, and then once I pealed it off the foam, I took a loose hacksaw blade and cut the foam away. Worked great.I would also recommend removing both flaps. It makes installation easier and it also made it easier to train our puppy to go through the opening. Each flap has 4 small screws. The top two mount the flap to the door, and the bottom two hold the flap to the metal bracket. (the flaps are replaceable). Just remove the two top screws on the flap and the whole flap comes off

Perfect for our needs
Our Brittany seems to need (or more specifically, WANT) to go outside constantly. It’s a pain letting him out into the garage and then letting him out into the back yard. It has gotten to the point where everyone lazily just leaves the side garage door open enough for him to move in and out, but this of course invites critters into the garage too… after having to capture a possum that got in and tried to set up shop in my fishing boat, I decided it was time to start looking for a solution.This door is perfect. It was incredibly easy to put together once I made the hole in the side of the garage, and it works great. Took a little bit to convince the dog to actually use it, but he is fine with it now. I am very happy and so is the dog.
