It works! Just gotta aim it!
Honestly didn’t think this was going to work. We have an old, but feisty little puggle mix who has decided that every night at around 9:00-9:30 she wants to do stuff, which is fine. But she’s a bully. She will straight up bark in your face without remorse, kicking her hind legs, basically yelling at you to do something for her (which is usually chase her around for a bit). Again, fine with the chasing or playing. Not okay with the aggressive way she goes about it. This thing interrupts her, which is what you want to do so you can replace the habit with a better habit. I did not get a chance to read the directions, however, because our lab obviously knew something was up and chewed those up as soon as it I took the device out of the box… But, it was pretty self explanatory.

Got this as a replacement for a different one I’d misplaced
I had gotten one of these “electronic dog whistles” some years ago to use with my dog, but we didn’t use it consistently, and I seem to have misplaced it sometime within the past few months.I ended up getting a last-minute foster dog just after misplacing the other corrector, so I got this one to see if it would work with this new dog (my dog is now 13, so his hearing has been going for a while now).At first this one felt too confusing, or unnecessarily complicated. My old one just had one button to press, and a switch that put it on either light-flash plus ultrasonic noise or just one or the other (if I remember correctly). But just one button. This thing has a lot more options and buttons, so it’s going to take some getting used to.So compared to my old one, this one is definitely more complicated. But I think that’s actually a good thing. One button is for an audible “beep” that us humans can hear, as well as the dogs, and the How To booklet that comes with it explains that this function should be used first (similar to the “beep” function on a shock collar; it’s a warning, a smaller step before things get uncomfortable). Then the switch on the side gives you the option of the fixed-frequency or variable-frequency modes, the latter of which can be useful for dogs who might not be able to hear the fixed-frequency, and/or to change things up so that they don’t get used to just the fixed-frequency.I haven’t had enough time to thoroughly work with her using this yet, but she definitely responds to the frequencies of the “only dogs can hear it” button.I like that it comes with the wrist strap, although it would be handy if the strap had something on it to be able to tighten it around your wrist for added security. So far the one thing I don’t love about it is the placement of the buttons. I like that the “Ultrasonic + Flashlight mode” button is set apart from the rest, but it would be nice if all of the buttons had some distance between them. When I’m trying to push the right button in the immediate moment it’s needed, I don’t want to have to keep looking down and fumbling with the thing to find the button I need. This is especially true if I’m using this while we’re out on a walk and/or if it’s dark outside and I’m going by sense of touch.Being able to instinctively press the button I need in the moment is essential, and with the placement of these buttons, it’s really kind of a pain in the neck. The flashlight button, for example, would be better if it were on the side of the unit, like where the frequency option is.If I’m trying to push the Sound button, I don’t want to accidentally press the Ultrasonic button, but they’re basically on top of each other, so that’s inevitably going to happen. So the button placement isn’t ideal, and I think it would benefit from some design changes. But other than that, so far I like it. I’ll probably try to glue something onto the different buttons so that I can feel which one is which.

Ultrasonic sound and a Beep
Tried on my puppies. They wanted to chew on it, but they would back away when the beep was used. I am not sure this would be an effective way to train young puppies.

Great options and very effective
This a great dog ultrasonic training tool.Very easy to use and has great settings for all conditions and flexibility in training. There is an ultrasonic, variable ultrasonic and light plus ultrasonic mode. The light is good to incorporate when you are training with low light. Really gets my dogs attention.I also vary between ultrasonic and variable ultrasonic just to keep it variable. The battery is long lasting and charges quickly using USB-C.It also comes with a strap to help you hold on to it like when on a walk.It also works on other dogs near by. I use that when we walk past dogs barking in their yards to help my dog be calm.Great options and very effective. I highly recommend.

Confusing layout of buttons, but works
I have a pair of dogs that are definitely in need of some (re)training, so I picked up this device to try to cause their attention to break from whatever negative behavior they’re acting out.It has an audible beep, an ultrasonic sound, and a flashlight that is very awkward to use. I’ll explain more on that in a bit. There is also a slider switch to lock the device, or change how the tones are handled. The device is rechargeable with the included USB-C cable, and also has a wrist strap that you can attach to it.So the buttons and flashlight are… awkward. I’m not sure how else to say it. It is very easy to hit the wrong button and turn on the flashlight instead of the ultrasonic sound, or the audible beep (that is very faint). They are just a strip of buttons right next to each other. With practice I’m sure you’d know which button is which but in a moment of “dang it dog, stop whatever you’re doing” it is easy to get flustered. As far the flashlight goes, mine seems pretty dim, and also defaulted to a strobe light rather than the steady on option. Was not prepared for that.Make sure to read the instructions to know how to change the settings. That all being said, this DID work on my dogs to distract their attention and stop them of whatever behavior they were doing. The defiant dog of mine whipped his head around like “WHAT WAS THAT?!”… and my poor little sensitive dog freaked out, ran upstairs and hid. (To be fair, the microwave beeping causes her to panic too.)Since it is affecting one of the dogs in more of a negative manner, it’s not for me as I don’t want to traumatize her from it. But if you have a dog that needs some reinforcement training, this device is definitely worth a shot.

It works!
So far we have used this as a barking and begging deterrent. My dog HATES any of the sounds that come out of this and immediately stops what he is doing. I try not to torture him with it and only use it when I really need the behavior to stop. Even just touching the device in front of him will get him to stop barking because he doesn’t want to hear the sound. I want to fully investigate the functionality, but he just hates it so much I don’t want to make him feel bad. But, it works.
