Can’t recommend it enough!
Weâve purchased five of these No Bottom Bar Gates over the past couple of years, and theyâve proven to be an excellent choice for both keeping our dogs confined and ensuring our kids are safe from stairs. The first gate we installed was a challenge due to unclear instructions, requiring trial and error to get it right. However, the manufacturer has since updated the instructions, and the version from our most recent purchase is much clearer. That said, having prior experience with installation likely contributed to the ease this time around, so new users might still find it slightly challenging. This gate shines in areas where pressure-mounted gates fall short. The absence of a bottom bar is a game-changer. It eliminates tripping hazards (particularly important for grandparents, and for stairs) avoids damage to wood floors, and allows our Roomba to pass underneath for uninterrupted cleaning. We installed the gate slightly higher than recommended for this exact reason, which has worked perfectly for our household; Roomba works even with the gate closed! The gateâs full-width opening is another major plus. It provides ample space for anyone to pass through comfortably, and the dual-direction opening is a thoughtful touch. The auto-close feature works reliably, and the stay-open option is convenient when we need the gate temporarily out of the way.Construction feels solid and secure; our kid hangs from it constantly and it hasn’t bent/warped. The double-lock mechanism adds an extra layer of safety, though it does take a bit of getting used to. I find the one-handed operation easy, but itâs slightly less intuitive for my wife and visitors unfamiliar with it.Overall, weâre very happy with this gate. Its combination of safety, convenience, and sleek design makes it well worth the investment. Whether youâre looking to keep kids safe or pets contained, this gate is an excellent choice. We highly recommend it to anyone in need of a high-quality, hassle-free safety gate.

Very well made, easy to install and use
I put this gate up to keep my dogs isolated in the kitchen when I am away from home. It is very sturdy, stays open when needed, and opens with one hand. Installation is easy, the instructions and included hardware are great. Itâs easy to adjust for width. Overall, this gate may seem a little expensive, but I am very impressed with it and feel that it will last a long time.

Sturdy but a little difficult to open.
I purchased this gate to keep the dog out and the baby inside. Overall it is sturdy and hold up well against both baby and pet. It was very easy to install, it took less than 10 minutes. The gate is lightweight and easily swings open and close. The only thing I dislike is the latch. Though it is completely childproof. I do have a little struggle to open it at times you have to spend a couple extra seconds twisting/maneuvering to get it just right in order to open.

Excellent quality
If you follow the instructions you should not have any problems. Not easy, but worthwhile. Works really great

Excellent for top of the stairs
This is an excellent baby gate that opens both directions. It also screws into the wall/wood so it’s been sturdy enough for the top of the stairs. We keep a close eye on our toddler as to not take any chances but it has held up and kept him safe during the brief moments he has tried to climb or open it.

Perfect for toddler gate at top of stairs
I selected this product because it doesnât have the bottom bar which is a tripping hazard. It seems well made and the white color blends nicely with my stairway railings, which are painted white. It does take some time to install. If either wall or railing isnât level, the gate wonât close properly without making several adjustments. Iâve seen several customer complaints about gate not locking securely, likely because of this issue. There are small spacers that are included that help with that problem. Iâve now installed three of these at the top of my stairs.

good gate; support not great
I may have a tip for people who find that the need to lift the gate makes opening it too difficult. Our gate didn’t need to be lifted, and i think this was because our lower latch (part “D” in the manual) wasn’t lined up correctly and the gate stopped short of it (i.e. the nub wasn’t entering the latch). It worked out great for us, but it should be noted that the dog we were containing wasn’t apt to push on the gate, so your results may vary. This gate served us well. It was narrow enough to fit our tiny stairwell, and my elderly mother found it easy to deal with. I didn’t care for the ugly warning stickers that couldn’t be removed from one of the bars. Okay, i get it: you don’t wanna get sued. But how many times you think people are gonna read that thing? every time they pass by?A couple weeks ago, i had an experience with Babelio customer service that left a bad taste in my mouth… small disclaimer, it began with a mistake on my part: i was convinced (erroneously) that this gate could be lifted off its hinges for storage. Not sure how i got there. Doesn’t matter.I wrote to the support address from the user manual to ask for some instructions or tips for lifting the gate off its hinges. In response, they asked me to send them “some videos showing the problem.” I found this request way out of line. Almost creepy. I only asked for instructions, why would they need videos of me pulling on the gate before telling me how to do it correctly??? I was both unable and unwilling to make them a movie, so instead i tried to phrase my request more clearly in case they’d just misunderstood me. I’ve been waiting 12 days for a reply.Yesterday, i brought in the handyman who installed the gate to help me; he told me the hinge is attached to the gate, so tools would be required for its removal. Babelio support could have just told me that instead of demanding home movies & then ignoring me. Seriously, how hard would it have been to write something like “the reason you’re unable to lift the gate off its hinges is that it’s not designed to do that.” Even if they’d called me or my question “stupid,” it still would’ve been better.Oh, and i know you’ve already guessed this, but my photos are of the damage caused by installing (and then uninstalling) the hardware. The chipped paint along the corner of the doorframe, the ugly wallpaper, and the dirty carpet were already present before installation and cannot be blamed on the gate 😉

Iâm using this gate for 7 dogs. It was easy to install, didnât use instructions. I didnât use the bottom locking bracket. It wasnât needed but also cause having to lift the gate to unlock would put excess strain on the hinges and it was not very easy to do. The gate is sturdy, easily adjustable for length and simple to install. It swings open easily both ways, with just a push of a button. As advertised it does swing back and lock if opened less than full and it does pressure lock when fully opened. Big upgrade on our pressure fit old gate that gouged the walls with excessive use. Not to mention having a couple family members trip over the old one cause moving it was a pain. One thing to mention is the hinges and locking mechanism are solid plastic. Iâd prefer metal of course but full metal would be 3 times the price likely. I used a piece of tape to hold the lift locking mechanism in. Sturdy enough to hold 7 big dogs back and super easy to open, perfectðð»

Dog gate outdoors at top of stairs. Most affordable solution and it looks good to.

Pretty sturdy gate so far and looks nice installed. I love how there is no bar at the bottom which reduces the tripping hazard. Instructions were pretty straightforward. My only gripe is the wall anchors that came with this gate is such bad quality, we couldnât even hammer it into the wall without it warping the plastic. We decided to install it with no anchors and it was stable enough. I would advise you to get your own wall anchors if you purchase this gate. The manufacturer needs to do something about the quality of the wall anchors.

Build quality is great, but the functionality for closing is horrible and unsafe for use with kids. This gate should not be used for top of stairs without an additional security point added.I added another anchor to the wall and used a carabiner as second point of security because the gate lock is definitely not reliable. Please be very careful if used with small children.Very dissatisfied with this purchase because this is not a budget gate. Its pricey and does the solve the primary problem

Arrived quickly, easy setup and adjustment. Seems stable and sturdy. Auto close feature is not the greatest but should be closed by supervising adults anyway. When not in use it stays open, good value for the money
