Yes. Gaps between door lock and frame are normal and will be resolved after installation.
How wide should the gap in a door lock be kept after installation?
After you have completed the installation, please check whether the gap in your door lock is within 2 mm. If not, please tighten the bolt adjustment.

great product! Literally like a door!
I bought this for the top of my steps, to prevent my curious infant from tumbling down the steps. This gate is strong, and easy to use. it is literally like a door! Built strong with a modern design. It opens easily, unlike some other brands, and even swings shut too! I’ve had quite a few over the years, but this is the only one i came across that closes automatically, adding another safety feature to it.

IGNORE REVIEWS THAT SAY ITâS BENT, NO ITS NOT, they just didnât read the instructions. ALL baby gates look this way before installing. I have a north states, nameless brand, and regalo gate that all function this way. These are pressure-mounted gates, they all look wonky without pressure. See the photo.I recommend this gate because-itâs sturdy-the instructions are clear-it fit great for my weird small doorway that has an uneven frame. My frame gets wider as it goes up from the floor. The bottom is tighter than the middle of the door.-it comes with stickers so you donât have to measure or guess where to screw the end caps! Just put it up, the caps will stick, move the gate, screw the caps, and put the gate back.-the screws are actually fantastic. I assumed they wouldnât be, so I used my own, which stripped. I replaced them with the ones included and they worked great!-unlike other gates, these have tabs to truly tighten them as much as possible with an included metal pusher you insert.Cons: I wish it was white instead of this off white/grey shade.

Just the right gate!
Over the years I have had a lot of different gates. This one I love!.1. It is easy to open with one hand2, You don’t have to drill into the walls unless you want to. (I didn’t and it is very sturdy in a door frame)3. It opens either way, push or pull.4. When you open it all the way, it props open.5. When you push it just a little, it swings closed and LATCHES.6, The latch is obvious and you do not wonder whether it is latched.7. The bottom frame can be installed very low so you don’t have a large step to cross the gate.I am sure there are more things I love about it, but these are the highlights. I installed it in a regular door frame area, so it would need to be attached with the screws provided if it was going into a wall. It was easy to put in, 5 minutes. Instructions were adequate which is about all you can expect these days – pictures are better that words.My two schnoodles hate this gate because they can’t get in the back hall now. Luckily, they didn’t write this review.

So, It was pretty easy to install. Fit as it should. Didn’t look bad at all for what we needed. Our pet won’t open or force his way anywhere so this was strong enough. Not for a large dog that will or a determined child. We chopped it up and made something that will work using the pieces. Too much trouble to return. The product was bent when we received it or it’s just flawed. We did not cut the tie before installation and it was installed evenly as described. I would not buy this again, nor would I tell anyone to purchase it.
