Well-designed, quality product
Coming out of the box, it’s heavy. Because it’s metal with a plastic cover to give a wood appearance. But the wood appearance actually looks good, and the metal underneath is strong. This baby is not going to break!Installing it, without any tools, went easily. It’s designed so that you put it into place, then cut a plastic belt, and there’s tension to hold it in place. Then you tighten four knobs to really fasten it it.The gate opens well–you have to grip the top rail on the top and bottom, hard for a toddler to do, but really easy for an adult. And after you go through the gate swings shut and locks by itself, really handy if you have both hands full.It’s been in place now for four days, and it’s quite secure, hasn’t moved a bit, and it working just great. This is a quality product.The only caution I’d make is to measure carefully. You do have some play, but make very sure that your opening is within the range of openings that the gate will handle. I made it by about 1/8 inch, so I came close to blowing it. I was lucky. So be super careful about your measuring.This is an update after a month of using it. The gate is still working perfectly, no problems at all, and the first impression of well thought-out design still stands. We have a puppy, so have three active baby gates in the house, and this is the best by far.

This was super easy to install (although the instructions were very limited, it was pretty self-explanatory), very sturdy, and the wood look matches our staircase perfectly so itâs not an eyesore.

These are so beautiful! They match our hardwood floors great and arenât an eyesore like a lot of other gates. They are so sturdy and hold up wonderfully. Re have taken down and reinstalled several times with no issues whatsoever. Love that it comes with two different options to fit different width doorways. Only complaint I have it that it does take down paint when you take them back off

Love the gate easy to assemble and looks great and works great⦠but extremely upset I canât get 3 ugly stickers off. I have tried numerous things and even a blow dryer spent an hour trying and they are still there. The warning for a child getting injured if not assembled right I donât have kids in this house or what it is made of I just really would like them off. So love gate very nice modern looking just dislike 3 stickers I canât get off.

Great sturdy gate that does the job!
We’ve had this gate for 6 months, and it still works perfectly to keep my baby from climbing the steps. It is very steady and secure, even with my older kids continuously leaning on it and slamming it shut. It was super easy to install (we have a spiral railing, so we used the Y piece for that end and the regular wall cup for the wall end). I love the auto-close feature, it’s great if your hands are full or if you’re just passing by. We previously tried a wall-installed gate, which did not hold up to my older kids’ use. Wish we had found this one first and saved us the holes in the wall.

Easy to set up, stays in place
Super impressed with this gate. It looks like wood, however, it is metal. It blends in perfectly with my stairs and banister. I had to use the Y attachments because of the banister, and I was concerned that it wouldnât stay in place, but it actually works perfectly. Itâs easy to open, easy to close, and it will stay open if you open it all the way up at a 90° angle or if you just walk through it, it will shut itself. With three boxers, Iâve had a lot of gates. This is probably been the best gate Iâve ever had.

Easy to open for toddlers+
My newly turned 2 year old son opened this gate within 30 seconds of seeing it. It wasnât hard to figure out, especially for a toddler that likes to press buttons. The gate is pretty but probably not good for someone who plans to use it past the baby stage.

Using it leading up the staircase at home for baby. Matches the mohagany colored wood really well of my floor and railings! Therefore, people think I got this specially made for my house! Probably the most asthetic gate I’ve seen (we also used the mesh gates for certain areas and they’re also great, but much more of an eyesore)Very sturdy when installed as per manufacturers instructions.

We were looking for a no-fuss, pressure-mounted temporary baby gate that ideally wasn’t the usual ugly white cheap plastic crap. This metal gate exceeded all our expectations. Not only is it immensely sturdy at only a fraction of the price more than the cheap quality stuff, the wood look finish was an added plus. From close you can obviously tell that it’s not real wood, but from far it does the trick and blends perfectly with our staircase. 10/10 highly recommend. We even decided to buy two more and our house is perfectly puppy/baby proof!

Very well made gate, Iâm only using the pressure mounted way of installation for this as Iâm using it for my senior dog to not topple down the stairs, I would use the other installation method for children if they are pushing on it and such .Love that it matches the trim in our house, and isnât huge and clunky.
