Note: we are just using this to keep our puppy and elderly cat separated. So this is not a high-stakes use, as if we were trying to baby-proof a staircase. But that said, this gate was very easy to install as we didn’t need the drill/wall-mounted stabilizers. Now that it’s up, it seems very sturdy and well-constructed. I specifically chose this model for a few reasons: I liked that it could swing open either way, also loved the auto-close or leave-open options (!), and the opening is wide enough to easily walk through without bumping into it or having to turn sideways. The handle may take some getting used to, but hopefully is easy enough to maneuver while I’m coming through with a full cup of coffee – lol. I think this gate will be perfect for our needs! And at this price, it was a very low-risk gamble! 🙂

I bought this to keep my Cocker Spaniel Mix in the kitchen when needed. It is easy to install and well made. It does not damage the walls. I pressure mounted the cups to the walls and did not screw anything to the walls to prevent damage to them. It has a secure self-locking mechanism. It comes with an extension for wider spaces. I like that the door will stay open when you want it to and that it will open both ways. This is a good value and looks nice.

Convenient, looks better than normal baby gates and still going strong
Still using it over a year later with no issues. This is much preferred for the toddler and dogs rather than the typical baby gates that require you to step over them or remove them all together. Looks nice and easy to use for grown ups, but keeps the toddler out!

We are using this to keep puppies from going down into the basement. It is very sturdy and has taken a lot of beating with puppies jumping on it. The finish is still looking like new. Can see how this would be very effective for toddlers. Just be sure of sizing of opening. Locking mechanism is secure, you have to pull back on it and then lift up to unlock gate.
