Best puppy playpen for Houdiniâs!
This is THE BEST puppy playpen you can get! Please note, that I went to the manufacturers website and purchased two additional panels, so what you see in my pictures is the 4 you get from Amazon PLUS two more.This is the THIRD playpen setup I have been through for my little Houdini. The first was the highly rated 24â Iris plastic playpen, which lasted all of two weeks before she learned to put her paws in the bars and climb out. Then I bought another solid sided one and zip-tied it to the inside of it so she couldnât get her paws through and climb out. That lasted about two months until she learned to yo-yo hop until she could reach the top with her front paws and climb out that way. So I began the search for a new one and came across this one. So far itâs escape-proof! Vertical bars so she canât climb out, 28â so she canât jump out or even get close to the top!Itâs extremely sturdy and super easy to assemble. I love that I can shape it to fit whatever area I need. I took the advice of another reviewer and set it up so that the door opens inward. It saves space and helps with training.I wish I had found this one to start with, it would have saved me a ton of money, but you live and learn. It will last a lifetime so donât waste your time or money on anything else and get this one!

Perfect for large space.
The latch isn’t my favorite. Button and slide latch vs auto swing latch. It works and is as described. Comes with easy directions. My dogs say zero stars because they are mad they are blocked from the kitchen,but I am enjoying it!

A beautiful fence I had to fix as it came apart in shipping due to 2 defective pieces I didn’t need.
So….i am not the one usually assembling anything we order online, but hubsy was sleeping and he deserved this rest and l didn’t want to disturb him. Perhaps l should have waited for him to wake up, but patience is not really one of my strong suits, so i opened the box just as a short but fierce wind & blowing rain storm started things flying around our porch. As I struggled to get the VERY heavy Carlson Extra Tall Outdoor 144 inch wide Pet Fence out of the HUGE box, as soon as I opened the box, tipped it over, and pulled the box off the fence, the wind got a hold of the box and it flew away like a sail! As that was happening I heard a metal clunk as one of the connecting poles fell away from the main body of the fence! Then my plants all started toppling over so I had to go deal with that and come back to the pieces of the fence laying on the porch floor to try to figure out what was going on with the fence. What I discovered was that one of the poles was just a wee bit shorter than was needed it to be able to hold up during shipping. Thankfully, the rest of the poles held up just fine during the shipping process, but this one pole had come away from the fence and one of the sections was now unattached from the main body of the rest of the fence. What I realized then was not only was the pole infinitesimally shorter so it could easily have escaped notice by the packer, still it would not hold in place that section of the fence. The good news is that as I am using it as a standing fence by zig-zagging it across our front porch steps, and am not screwing it into anything, I do not really need that pole, and the fence will stand alone just fine without it. I did have a bit of trouble moving one section from one end to the other end so that when the fence is in position, the gate would be in the right position to open and close inward and be centered at the top of the stairs. The wind and rain certainly didn’t help, but even with all that going on, still it only took me less than a half hour to assemble. This only real trouble happened because as it came out of the box, it was supposed to be pre-assembled, but the shipping had shaken ill-fitting pieces apart which was unfortunate. The really tricky thing that hung me up for a few minutes more was that the smallest piece of the construction was a tiny ‘cup’ the poles slide down into at the bottom of every joint at the floor level. As I tried to fit that one pole that had come lose back into the little ‘cup’ I realized that was probably the problem to the whole thing as the pole would not fit into it and as I checked all the other little ‘cups’ that were working I could tell this one cup was noticeably smaller than all the others. If I had wanted to use this fence as a pen, or as a fence that was bolted at the ends, I would have had to return it or ask for a replacement cup. Other than that, the fence itself is very sharp looking and is sturdy. I actually love it now that it is up and it is perfect for how I intend to use it.

Pretty Good Gate for Large, Wild Dogs
This is the second gate like this weâve purchased. The one we got a few years back (same brand, size, etc.) was better built with a sturdier feel but this is still pretty good. We have a 65 pound, exuberant dog, who would put his paws on the top of the gate and jump and knock into it anytime someone came to our house. It stood the test of his wildness.It only broke when he figured out how to press down and unlock and open the gate (old model). This new version seems to have improved locking mechanisms, even if they feel cheaper.We did find that the door is large enough for even a large dog (motivated by fireworks outside) to squeeze through.Itâs a good price for a gate that will probably last a year or two until his wildness breaks it again.

Stands up to lots of abuse! 4-year update!
This gate is fantastic. We have a very wide opening between our livingroom and kitchen and didn’t know how to separate it for babies/dogs. We were reluctant to bolt this to the doorway frame knowing it would likely be pulled on, run into, bumped, and pushed. It’s gotten a lot of wear in the past six months, including one 2 year old, 2 hound dogs, and multiple adults passing through it many many times each day. It’s held up wonderfully. (My dogs are a bit large to fit through that little pet door- I’d say to only count on that working for toy-sized dogs and most cats.) The installation is very sturdy against the door frame. It’s design doesn’t overwhelm our decor. And the 2 year old still doesn’t know how to work the latch. If it’s not locked; (using the red slide over the latch) then he can easily open it. He can’t yet move that red lock, which is awesome. Wish we had gotten this sooner. Though we have never removed it to look, I can’t see any damage being done to the wood door frame other than of course the fact that there are now a few holes screwed in there. Definitely a worth-while trade off.Update: we STILL have this gate installed in our home. It’s been amazing. We now have two kids still two dogs and this has held up amazingly. I’ve flat out run into this thing a million times just being clumsy and it hasn’t budged. We’ve even moved some minor furniture in and out past this gate; whether lifting above or sliding through the opening. We haven’t experienced any of the things described on the negative reviews. Just sayin.ðð»

Es muy resistente, no se oxida y fácil de acomodar y se puede fijar a la pared con tornillos si lo requieres. La coloque en el patio, ha resistido lluvias y granizo. Compré la versión 28 x 144″ , es ideal para perros chicos y cachorros medianos. Para perros mas grandes necesitas la versión de 36 x 144″

This playpen was a life saver when our pup was younger! The vertical bars are sturdy and because there are no horizontal bars, he couldnât climb out. We used it for a few months to keep pup contained while he was awake and playing but we couldnât keep a watchful eye on him. As he grew, we ordered a few extra pieces direct from Carlson to make the pen larger. Now that heâs a bit older and potty trained, he has more access to the house but we still use this – now as gates to block off areas instead of a contained pen. Excellent investment, super sturdy and gave me piece of mind that my pup was safe.
