Perfect!
I ordered this ramp for my 10 pound Chiweenie dog because she was diagnosed with IVDD (back & leg issues that dachshunds often get) so she isnât supposed to jump off or up onto anything. Our bed is pretty high up so we ordered this ramp and we are 1000% happy we did! We bought some training treats with the ramp to teach her to follow my hand up and down the ramp until she got the hang of it and then I removed the treat and made her just follow my hand up and down and then I just used the words âuse your rampâ. After about a week she was running up the ramp and then a week later she was going down it on her own. Now she uses it 95% of the time!I like that it is already assembled and is easy to use. You can adjust the height of the ramp depending on the height of your bed or couch. The ramp has a good grip material so she never slides and has a few small raised bumps (like a speed bump) on it to give her feet something to walk up easily. I also like that it has rails so she canât fall off. It is very sturdy and made really well. It holds me (Iâm 120 pounds) with no problem.*We did also order some LED strip lights and put them around the outside of the ramp so at night it is lit up so she can see it if she needs to use it because she sleeps in our bed. I recommend if you get light strips too, to make sure you get the dimmable kind so they arenât too bright at night when youâre trying to sleep.*I definitely recommend this ramp! I spent forever researching brands and reading reviews and I am so happy that I ordered this one! Just order some training treats and be patient because it can take over a week for your dog to learn how to use it. And get some dimmable LED strip lights so your dog doesnât have a hard time finding it in the dark. This ramp will not disappoint!

Highly recommended for pet owners!

Dog Ramp
The dog ramp works well for the aging Chihuahua in the household. It came fully assembled and only needed to attach the brace bar, they slipped into the predrilled holes. The small cross-strips on the ramp are helpful for allowing enough traction to go up and down the ramp. The ramp is set at the second level of height, the top height was too steep for the dog. The bed is a height of 24 and the ramp is set to 22 inches. This was a very good transition from a stair set to the ramp. Well made and easy to setup.

So easy! Minimal assembly! And compact.
My dog is getting up there in years and we got after his last vet visit.I Really like the grip felt material. Feels sturdy and I like that he won’t slip off of it when heading down.I Really like that the assembly was very minimal. Almost everything was done except I put the side rails on. I might take them off . It came with the tool to to put it all together.I like that is compact enough that I can easily slid it under the bed when we want to keep our dog off.The latching systems for when it is close feels pretty secure. I am not worried about is opening up when I am moving the ramp round.Pretty happy with the quality and how much I paid for it. Decent value.

Happy…after some modifications
There isn’t anything terribly bad about this ramp for most dogs. I looked at so many ramps before purchasing. Regardless of price, there wasn’t a single one that had all I needed for my small, older dogs with arthritis and vision failing. When comparing ramps, I obviously looked at length and height for my use, but paid close attention to the rails and the surface they would be walking on, and the bottom support. My dogs only weigh 5-8 lbs, so weight tolerance wasn’t an issue, but wanted one that wouldn’t wobble. Those things considered and in comparison to others, this is the one I chose for the couch (it was a separate adventure finding one for the bed.) There are no ramps I could find that provided all I needed. So, I made some modifications. This one folds up (which I dont need to do regularly… it’s pretty much a permanent fixture in the room until it’s simply no longer needed), but that’s nice. It’s made of wood, is sanded smooth and I haven’t had any construction failures, isn’t too heavy to move, but does have some weight, it’s sturdy, doesn’t wobble. I haven’t carried it by the handle, so I cannot comment on the quality of the handle.I was looking for one with a ramp that went to the floor without a “step down” when they got to the bottom…. this one does drop off at the bottom of the ramp. This won’t likely be an issue for most dogs, but mine are not as sure-footed as they used to be with bad eyes and aren’t used to walking an incline. It has proven a stumbling point at times, particularly on their way down. I was also looking for one with rails they couldn’t fall thru as they are so small. I found none with solid rails. Again, for most medium sized dogs, these rails are probably fine height-wise… unless your pet is hefty…. they aren’t the sturdiest of rails. If small like mine, they are high enough, but they can fall between the two on each side, or get their legs hung in the open areas of each rail. So, this is where the bulk of the modification was done for my girls. The carpet used is described as “anti slip” or “non skid”. For some dogs, that may be true. My dogs literally ski down the ramp on this carpet! There are 5 raised slats that help a little, but they are covered with the same carpet, so they’re more like mini speed bumps that they can catch a toenail on or hurt a pad. This ramp sits on a hard surface floor, so I will be adding some non skid to the bottom also to ensure the ramp itself doesn’t move. My girls have face planted into the floor at the bottom and momentum has pushed them into furniture. So I put a non skid mat on the floor at the bottom of the ramp to land on. Again, my girls have some mobility and vision issues, but if your dogs are very small, with or without arthritis or other ailments, you may want to consider the same modifications.MODS: I purchased an inexpensive foam core board (3mm 1/8″ thick) and made solid walls for the ramp. Outlined the rails and used an xacto knife to cut. They can no longer get a leg hung in the rails or fall off between the rails. Also, the rails don’t go to the ends of the ramp and mine kept trying to get off the ramp too early just past the rail before fully exciting the ramp and almost fell off from the top numerous times. I was able to block that space with the boards. I simply used zip ties to attach the foam core boards to the rails. I used white colored board to help with their vision (Strip LED adhesive lights may be in order for night time). Now…the dowels of the rails do not go down into the ramp frame very deep…. they come out fairly easily. If you have a heavier dog, regardless of height, you may want to reinforce the dowels. (The rails are pretty low with my small dogs, so would be pretty useless for a large dog.)With the solid walls and some more anti skid on the ramp surface (ordered, not yet installed) I think it will be a pretty good ramp. But I still would like to do something about the drop off at the bottom….for my girls’ struggles. Not sure what yet. It’s not huge; wouldn’t be a problem for medium or large dogs without issues. If you have a heavier/large dog, take note of the build of the adjustment options underneath. The pressure is on the END of the horizontal rod…. not the length of the rod. Not as sturdy a design. Might be fine, just something to be aware of. Not an issue for my small girls.Replacing the ramp surface will be the bulk of my expense in making this ramp suitable for my old girls. Cutting and installing the walls was a good evening and a half for me + time finding/purchasing the materials.Having said that….again, I could not find a ramp that offered all I needed… all other ramps I considered would have needed the same mods to the rails anyway. (The ramp I purchased for the bed had a different tread surface…. it still needed modification.)You may not need any mods for your pet, but in my opinion, any dog could catch a leg in the rails… and the rails should be more sturdy and go deeper into the frame than they do. Also, the carpet is not non skid…. maybe for a much heavier dog depending on your incline needs. These are the reasons for 3 stars as I think the surface and the rails are a lack in build/design that could EASILY have been done differently. I would have ordered without any ramp surface and added my own without having to remove carpet if I’d had that option.Hope this helps.[An option of railing height/style choices for your size dog at time of purchase would be an excellent idea!! Great ramp
Worth the money for sure. I have a 12 year old German shepherd I wanted to make sure the ramp was secure enough to hold 70 pounds. Well the quality it really good it held my weight(140) no issues. I walked up and down comfortably without any movement from the ramp. Really easy to but together and and fold for easy storage. I love the fact that itâs adjustable. Great product your dogs will thank you.
