No matter how much you think you know, you will learn something new
Lili Chin’s expert illustrations paired with well-researched emotional traits and how they are likely to be physically expressed make for one necessary read for any dog owner. In less than an episode of Cesar Milan’s “Dog Whisperer”, one can skim through this delightfully upbeat book. Spend your time focusing on the “issues” your beloved pooch expresses such as licking his lips when in the car, or how to tell when your dog is playing with another dog versus when they are defensive. Ms. Chin does a fantastic job covering how your dog is likely to offer warning signs (multiple ones) before (s)he growls and/or snaps. This is particularly important for those of us who have adopted rescues and are committed to work through the issues in the face of a growling, snapping resource-guarding dog who otherwise is quite lovely. Just don’t go near the food bowl when it is full. Truly, this book has opened my eyes to so many cues and clues as to how our dog is feeling. In just the last week, we have noticed improvement in our doggie’s demeanor. We have responded differently to him according to his body language. As a result, he is no longer excessively cleaning himself. Best of all, he has not chased my husband through the house, snapping and growling in an attempt to devour my spouse. This is progress. While there is still some resources guarding when my husband is nearby, the improvement is astounding. We have invited multiple rescues with special needs into our home until their passing. Of course we thought “we know everything”. This was not true. Lili Chin’s easy, adorable read has offered incredible insight that has helped us earn more trust from this beautiful dog who came from a terrible, abusive background. Wonderful for children ages 10 and up who want a dog.

It really does help you understand your dog’s personality
This is a book one can easily be read in its entirety within one hour, but you can pretty much open it at any page and get the lesson (or memory refresher you need). I love it.

    Simple and informative
A good, easy read with great drawings! Body language broken down into simple components with good comparisons. All together, very informative and a great way to start understanding dog body language.

    Cute little book
Great book for kids and teens, and those who need a refresher about understanding how their dog is feeling based on their body language.

    Very deceiving
When I first opened up this book, my impression was that it looked like a kid’s book –lots of illustrations and not lmany words 🙂 But what a treasure trove of information about how a dog communicates. The illustrations are a critical component and beautifully reinforce the text. There are no wasted lines or words in this small book. Definitely understand why it was recommended by our dog’s trainer. Even thought we have owned a number of dogs over the years, we learned how we had been misinterpreting some of their actions. Recommend for anyone who wants to better understand their dog.

A MUST HAVE for All Dog Guardians (or anyone who ever encounters dogs in the world)
Our dogs are always communicating with us . . . but are we listening? Learning dog body language is THE most important skill for dog guardians to learn. And teach your children from a young age. Lili Chin’s book is the perfect pocket guide for learning your dog’s body language in a way that feels fresh & fun while being informative.

Just arrived. I am a dog trainer and have over 60 well informative training books of every possible subject in regards to dogs from internationally known dog trainers. I bought this book for my 20 year old niece because she wanted to start pet sitting with cats and small dogs. This is an excellent book that covers the basics for calming signals and dog body language and what it means for a young person. it’s extremely well illustrated, easy to understand and not too wordy that a young person would get bored. I’m extremely pleased with this book for my niece. And it’s small and compact 4″ x 4″ type size. Light and colorful cartoon illustrations for the visual part of learning.

In dem Buch ist super leicht erklärt, Hundekörpersprache zu verstehen. Das Buch ist sowohl für Neulinge, als auch erfahrene Hundehalter, für jung und alt, echt klasse.
