Quality product, well thought out, functions to perfection
Great product very pleased. I’m not easy to impress and I don’t hand out glowing reviews unless it’s well earned in every aspect. With that said…I really like this product, have installed 2 of them and would only use this gate for young children. Easy installation even if your stairwell has moulding, trim, etc that could be a little tricky. Your product is flexible and if your a bit off level, or it’s cock eyed it doesn’t lose function and let’s non handy people still get the job done. It’s made of quality materials, sealed with quality lacquer, the wood isn’t easily dented…But what I’m really pleased about is how secure it latches. No baby on earth is getting that open or getting through it. Not a chance. Its next level sturdy. I lock that gate on the top of the stairs and let my toddlers crawl around the whole upstairs with 110 confidence and piece of mind that cant figure out a way over or around it, nor can they muscle through it. The lat thing mechanism is the all the glory with this product. It swings & glides smoothly, functions smoothly, versatile, etc. Ita complete in every way. There are no flaws, loose end, short cuts taken with this gate. You have to anchor it to the wall, its incumbent upon you the consumer, to use quality anchors & a level…They make this installation about as easy as it gets if you’re looking for a very sturdy, very secure, very toddler proof gate. My youngest toddler was another top step when she fell, back of the head first, when I grabbed her shirt at the last second before she was going down 20 stairs. These gates have made sure that was a 1 and done situation. Nothing is more valuable than her safety and this is the gate I stand behind. You will too

Super sturdy, reasonably easy to install and open and close
We have 4 of these and are happy with all of them. Some of them are 6+ years old and they have really held up to use. It’s raw/unfinished wood which is ok for use indoors. That can make them difficult to clean. They are easy to install, with or without the paper guides. I’ve done it both ways and the fittings are easy to get lined up.The best part for us is that it still holds up against my 33” 4 year old. He can yank on it all he wants and won’t jerk the screws out of the wall. It’s also still a little too tall for him to climb.

    The best baby gate
This gate has many features that make it very useful. I have installed many of them in my own homes and others homes.First, it can be manipulated with a single hand when installed properly.Second, it can be removed and reinstalled in an instant, a big advantage in a grandparent’s home or any time you need to move a large piece of furniture by it, just don’t want to look at it, etc…Third, when not covering the hallway/stairs/doorway it collapses and takes up less space on the wall. Before installation, and periodically during use, rub some paraffin on parts that slide. It is fairly sturdy. The slats allow a cat or very small dog to pass through, while discouraging climbing by a child. Good product that is reasonably priced.

Good Gate, Would Be Better With Improvements.
I have used 3 of these gates for about 18 months now. Anyone who has stairs in their home should make sure they are using a hardware mounted safety gate at the top of them, a suspension gate is simply pointless because if the child pushes on it the gate may fall over and both will go tumbling down the stairs. I chose this particular gate after a lot of research, and frustration from not being able to find a perfectly rated gate. I am very happy I went with these. I have one on both the top and bottom of my basement stairs, as well as one installed between my living room and kitchen. I think they are easy for adults to use but rather difficult for a child (which is perfect). The gate slides out easily if you want to set it aside, although I have found that since it swings both ways it can be easily kept open without interfering. What you need to know: These gates will do their job. They stay in place and are strong enough against toddlers and babies. What could be improved: I feel the quality of these gates needs improvement. The individual posts feel thin and flimsy, however the gate as a whole is sturdy. A coat of varnish would also make the wood look and feel nicer.

It’s easy to install and sturdy
I was hesitant to buy this gate as someone posted a video showing it close properly. But someone said she installed it wrong and he was right. She must have accidentally switched the top and bottom catch brackets. (The ones the hated slides into to open/shut it.) Because the bottom bracket is thicker than the top one. You can see that in my video. (Sorry I’m not the best videographer lol)It’s very easy to install and is very secure when closed. It’s, also, easy for me to open one handed, and I have painful thumb issues so I was very happy I could do it easily. I would definitely recommend this gate.

I must preface this but saying my dog loves to chew on wooden sticks and I don’t know what I was thinking… We bought this gate to keep our dog out the kitchen as our previous home had a door to keep the kitchen shut when we left the house. Wanting to keep her out the kitchen in our new place, I chose this lovely gate, easy to install, easy to use and cute! Big mistake on my end, my dog chewed right through it, just like she does with sticks.. So if you’re buying this and you have a chewer, be smart and buy the metal one from Regalo, it’s easy to use and won’t be chewed up until you have a freakishly strong dog that chews metal. The End

The product solves the purpose but the quality is too frail and delicate. Also the locking system is weird. Sometimes it unlocks easily and sometimes it just does not.. and all this I got to know about the product after installation!!! Can’t even return ☹️Would recommend the fisher price similar product!
