Perfect for my rescue kitten, will buy more in the future!
It’s held my rescue kitten in it for over a month now! There is a small hole but that’s expected for a kitten to do. The top zipper does come off easily and somewhat hard to put back on.It’s pretty easy to clean. You can sweep up litter, use a sticky roller to get the hair off, wipe it down with wipes or paper towels, rinse it off outside with the hose, it all works. Which is great for crazy kittens.I keep my rescues inside only, so I can’t comment on safety unfortunately. I may update this review once he is fully dewormed and fixed, and my other cat will be able to use it outside. She loves going out, so we’ll test it.It is pretty sturdy for the price and material. It only collapsed ONCE when he had the zoomies. But it opened right back up very easily with no injuries or harm at all. It’s pretty cute overall and it definitely works out, it holds his litter box, toys, food bowls, his box, stuff like that. I think I have the XL. It’s great! I definitely recommend.

Approved by a Once Outdoor Cat!
No regrets! My kitteh absolutely loves it—and loves being outside with us.It’s important to note that when we got our cat, he was an indoor/outdoor cat. We tried several times to break him of that, and now permanently keep him inside, but he is always looking to go outside. It would break my heart sitting outside and see him staring out at us. This was a good compromise.Although I will run inside the house while he is outside alone, it is only for a couple of minutes at a time for something quick, like grabbing something to drink. It may be fine to leave him outside unattended for longer periods of time, I just opt not to.In all honesty, I was not sure how he was going to react, and he was a little inquisitive the first couple of times, softly pawing at the door and screens, and even reaching for the top screen door (yes his paw did get caught a few times and pull part of the pen in on himself) but he finally got acclimated and loves it.Every cat is different, after his paw got caught a couple of times, I would take him out of it and put him inside and then we would try again another day. What seems to work the best for me is having some things that would make him more comfortable, such as his scratching bed (which I think was key, because instead of pawing at the screens or door, he goes in there and scratches), some blankets, and food and water. I introduced putting food and water into the playpen after he stopped pawing at the sides—made that mistake too early on.I do move his playpen around each day to give him different views and to make sure that he is kept out of direct sunlight. For the cost, it is totally worth it. I opted to get the XL—having some of his items in here, he still has plenty of room to spread out. Another thing that I found, is that he likes to have his pen up against some thing, even if it’s just a railing or if you put a chair or something near it. I think it makes him feel more protected as opposed to having almost all of the sides open with nothing directly around it. That may just be my cat, but wanted to share that. Finally, I do give this product five stars but do want to comment on a few things. 1. As far as sturdiness goes, it’s sturdy enough for a mature cat. If you have a cat or dog who is more active or rambunctious, this may not be the product for you. 2. Set up is a breeze, you basically just pull it apart like an accordion and it pops into place. Similarly, breaking it down is very easy; you just fold it back in on itself but if you want to try to twist it into the circle shape that it comes in, it’s a little bit more difficult, so I just leave it collapsed down in the larger oval shape. 3. Very easy to clean, when he spilled water and food, it wiped out easily.

Came in handy after pet surgery
To be honest, I bought this purely for emergencies (in case we ever needed to evacuate and had to stay in an unfamiliar space). I was pretty thrilled at how compact it is since I have a small car and would need every inch to count if we have to bug out. However, one of my furkids had surgery and needed to be kept somewhat still and watched while he was still wobbly after anesthesia. The pen was far bigger than I anticipated – almost too big for my living room, frankly. Opening it was a bit of a hassle and was clumsy to accomplish. But having done it once, I’m hopeful I won’t have the problems if I need to use it again. It worked well for keeping my recovering kitty from doing anything he shouldn’t while he was wobbly and unsteady on his feet. However, it’s a bit lightweight and a determined critter might be able to knock it over while inside. It would definitely need to have something heavy inside to keep it in place. (The “stakes” included looked and felt pretty useless.)Trying to put the thing back in the bag was its own challenge. The instructions state to fold it into a figure 8 – took me at least fifteen minutes to manage that. The pros:Pretty Damn Big – lots of room for more than one reasonably sized critters. Not horrible to open and set up. (I know, barely a pro….)Extremely small when not in use.The cons:Difficult to collapseClumsy to set upPossibly easy for critters inside to knock it over

    Great for Kittens!
Great quality, raised 2 sets of kittens in this. Had one inside and one outside. Easily to clean, easy to see through very portable and comfortable for kittens. Zipper on top and sides. Great product, I would recommend if you have kittens, puppies or bunnies.

It was expensive for the quality of the product. It’s impossible to fold back up but was easy to assemble.

I got the XL size.First impression: HOLY MOLY THIS THING IS MASSIVE! I’m a 175cm tall human and this thing could easily fit 6 of me! – I actually went inside it and my mom took photos to make fun of me with her friends.Parental bullying aside, I got this thing for the kittens I’m fostering as I could swear they drink jet fuel for breakfast. Honestly could open a demolition company and with the level of havoc and destruction these tiny, little spicy babies can achieve.Anyway, I put ’em all in there (only during prime zoomie time while I’m working) and it totally holds up AND it holds all their toys, 2 adult cat beds and a litter tray. 10/10That being said, the material DOES feel cheap, but it’s actually pretty sturdy. If it can hold up to my domesticated apocalypse, it can hold up to your-whatever you wanna put inside it.

large enough for my bernese mountain dog and bloodhound – a little lightweight but good for dog shows

  8. Margaret

This playpen is far too flimsy for most pets. My 10 pound dog could tip it over from inside. Not suitable.
