A Tail-Wagging Good Time for Your Pooch!
Okay, letâs get real here. When it comes to feeding your dog, you want to make sure youâre not just tossing kibble into a bowl and calling it a day. No, no, no. Your dog deserves better, Hillâs Science Diet Adult Chicken & Barley Dog Food is the kind of premium nutrition thatâll have your dog wagging their tail with the excitement of a dog at a tennis ball convention.First things first, this food is made with real chicken, because dogs canât be fooled by mystery meat. Itâs like the difference between a gourmet chefâs dish and the microwaveable âsteakâ your uncle tried to pass off as gourmet during last yearâs BBQ. The small kibble is not only easy to chew for all those tiny teeth but also packed with nutrients thatâll keep your dogâs coat shiny and their energy levels through the roof. But letâs not forget about the barley, a healthy source of fiber to keep those digestive systems running like a well-oiled machine. Itâs like a spa day for your dogâs tummy, minus the cucumber slices and fluffy towels. Speaking of health, this food supports heart health and a strong immune system, because we all know how dramatic dogs can be when theyâre under the weather.PROS: ⢠Real chicken: Your dog wonât settle for anything less, and neither should you. ⢠Small kibble: Perfect for those little munchers or picky eaters who are basically royalty in your home. ⢠Great for digestion: Packed with fiber to keep things moving, if you catch my drift. No one likes an upset stomach, especially not your dog. ⢠Support for heart and immune health: You want your dog to live forever, but this is at least a step in the right direction.CONS: ⢠Not a miracle worker: If your dog still insists on rolling in mud or acting like theyâve never seen a bath, this food wonât fix that. ⢠Pricey: You get what you pay for, but donât expect to be buying this stuff in bulk at a discount. In short, Hillâs Science Diet Adult 1-6 Dry Dog Food is like the VIP pass to a long, healthy life for your dog, without all the hassle of hiring a personal trainer or a life coach. Itâs packed with the kind of nutrition thatâll have your dog living their best life and keeping you off the vetâs radar for a while. So go ahead, make your dogâs day, and toss them some of this superfood kibble. After all, theyâve been loyal to you…probably way more than that pizza delivery guy ever will be.

The only dog food I feed my furbaby
I love this brand for my pup. They have quality products and ingredients. This line has never had a powerful âdog foodâ smell. Our dog digestive system is kept consistent and she really seems to enjoy the flavor. We keep ours fresh by putting a weeks worth in a storage container upstairs near her feeding station and then the larger bag in a storage room that is cool.

Many, many benefits and a couple of caveats
For some reason, the science of nutrition has become more like religion in modern times….as if what the owner believes will magically make the dog healthy. Dogs and their bodies cannot share our belief systems.I’ve been using Science Diet brand for over 30 years now, various formulas for individual pets with their needs. They do very well. Great, in fact. There is the correct amount of protein: they can digest and metabolize it all and not have excess go through them or harm the renal system and cause stones. The calcium is correctly combined with other things so it is available to the dog.The volume I need to feed for each meal is small enough that it does not risk bloat, cause gas, or interfere with digestion. In other words, it fits comfortably in my dog’s stomach when it expands with the moisture in there. The bag lasts a LONG time because meal sizes are small due to nutritional density. It does not have “flavors” dogs cannot taste (they don’t have taste buds like we do) or artificially added colors and shapes dogs do not care about.I measure the meals with an actual measuring cup, so I know if my dog is losing his appetite right away.I use small bites for my larger dog because it slows down his eating, taking him longer to finish, which is healthier and allows him to enjoy it more.I like to feed poultry-based foods as they are easiest to digest, but lamb and turkey are high in tryptophan, which can be soothing and support good mental health. When it comes to ingredients, I trust what veterinarians and canine nutritional experts approve, not what the average consumer thinks sounds good, or what dogs would pick in a lineup (Cheetos or brownies would probably win, really, with dogs). Grapes and raisins are healthy for us, but can kill dogs. They are not just like us. This product is one I trust because it is made for domestic dogs. Yes, “biproducts” sound gross, and maybe they are, but bear in mind humans fed dogs offal and leftovers, not the best cuts, historically. Dogs got what they got, and ate what we ate, and we were pretty poor. We taught them to help us hunt, but also not to kill and eat the things, but to bring them to us or hold them in one place, even rats (because we wanted them to kill all the rats, not just what they could eat). These guys will eat poop and raw dead birds maggots and all in the yard if they can. Cooked and properly processed biproducts are not that gross.CON: Science Diet on their smaller bags of product, like for cats, is using Velcro to allow bags to be re-sealable. It works very well, keeping the food fresher. While I currently decant the dog food into another container, I think it would be great if they added this to all sizes of bags. If you buy this, rolling it tightly and clipping, putting in large Ziplocs, or getting a container to keep it fresh (and not stale) will be the best methods.NOTE: If your dog has a confirmed allergy to a specific grain, like corn, the usual culprit, as that is New World and was not around most of the time mankind was creating dogs, then this may not be for you. Even formulas that have barley or rice sometimes have corn products, so read labels carefully or use dogfoodadvisor dot com. Limited ingredient foods can be the best thing. However, make sure the allergy is not to peas, a common culprit, used in many grain-free foods, before you go crazy. Let your vet help you

Excellent product
Iâve fed Science Diet for over 50 years. It was developed for military dogs. I appreciate the fact that they make specialized foods for various specialized medical conditions, so I strongly support their business.Having Amazon deliver the product to my door is an added benefit!

My dog loves this stuff!
We have a rescue dog and this is what they feed them at our local animal shelter so we have continued to feed him this and he usually has it cleaned out of his feeding dish within minutes of putting down for him.Hey he is healthy and happy and has good vet visits so hey one cannot complain about that. And the price is way better than the chain pet supply stores.

Estas croquetas le gustan mucho a mi perro, ya que contienen más granos que la competencia. Mi perro ha dejado muchascroquetas de lado, sin embargo, estas son las únicas que he podido mantener constantemente.

My vet recommended I buy this for my twelve year old cavoodle, as his health is declining. My dog loves this food and I donât know if I am imagining it, but he seems happier and his coat has a nice sheen.
