JOIN THE MOVEMENT
Dogs in America are in crisis. Over 3 million dogs enter animal shelter nationwide every year. The number one reason is owner surrender due to negative behaviors towards humans or other animals. When dogs are returned to a shelter after adoption, they have a much lower chance of being adopted again and may ultimately become part of the 350,000 dogs euthanized every year.
Millions of shelter dogs are relying on humans to solve the crisis they face. It is my mission to empower people to keep their dogs and to encourage more adoptions. This is done through education and providing simple solutions. Physically rescuing your dog is just the beginning; the real rescue is balancing your dog’s mind, creating internal peace, and revitalizing the spirit of your dog. By applying my Rescue The Mind™ 3-Step System to your own rescue dog, you will be an active participant in the movement to reduce the staggering number of dogs in shelters. Thank you for being a hero!

Why I like this dog training book best
Many people turn to shelters to find a four-legged adoption pet. Few dog training books have dedicated their approach to the ârescue dogâ which has unique characteristics. Additionally, there are many dog training techniques and theories in use today which can be confusing. While each of these techniques has a place, I think the authors have appropriately focused on the top three things to get the most out of training your rescue dog. The best time to buy this book is before you adopt your new four-legged family member or immediately after bringing your adopted pet dog home. Without this book, there could be frustration on the part of the owner because of on-going negative behaviors in the dog, resulting in returning the dog to the shelter which leads to emotional disappointment on the part of the owner and the dog. I personally believe reading this book will increase your chance of success with your new pet dog.I appreciated the association of dog training as it revolves around leadership training and building trust. This is a great premise for developing a stress free and healthy relationship with your dog. I also appreciated the concept of training a dog from the perspective of behavioral motivation. The book describes how as humans, we think and reason, while dogs associate, and the association happens quickly and in the moment. The authors talk about a three-step process of training. I interpret this as the three most important actions you can take to teach your dog that you are in control, so the dog does not have to be. Once understood, the dog can be focused on being carefree, loyal, and fun, while not focusing on trying to control the situation. This makes for a friendly, loving, member of your household. In addition to the behavioral training aspects of the book, there is a comprehensive list of things you should get in advance of adoption day. The authors also detail the best way to introduce your new pet into your home. Further, there is a great explanation of providing outdoor time and creating a daily routine (outlined from 6 AM until 10 PM) for your four-legged friend. This 285 page rescue dog training book provides examples, pictures, comments from owners, simple explanation, lists, and instructions to make you successful with your new adopted family member.Dr. Ed JDoctor of Business Administration

I have had the pleasure of working directly with Nate to help my deaf Aussie to overcome her fear of shadows and cars. I saw results after our first session. He has also helped me to understand what I was doing wrong with my two other leash reactive dogs. Our household has become more peaceful and the dogs are happier. I was very excited to know he had a book coming out and purchased it right away. It is well written and helps explain the âwhyâ behind the methods. His understanding of animal psychology and his ability to teach it to his clients is why this works. I recommend it for anyone who wants to live their best lives with their pets.

By far best training book out there!
Definitely a must have for all dog owners. We have hired trainers in the past to work with our dog, and the returns were minimal. This book has helped the whole family understand how the dog thinks and why he behaves as he does. Improvements have been remarkable. I think this would be great for any dog owner anytime.EXCELLENT BOOK!!

An Effective Guide that includes New Techniques replacing stale strategies
Nate’s book is an exceptional guide that blends solid techniques with empathy for both dogs and their owners. The author’s direction is clear and supportive, offering practical strategies that prioritizes dominance with an emphasis on love and empathy. (You can still snuggle and play with your dog!). Each chapter unfolds with expert advice on positive reinforcement and effective communication, fostering a bond built on trust and mutual respect. My dogs are rescues and their anxiety has improved significantly since I started to follow Nates techniques.
