    Perfect replacement
This was the perfect replacement for my broken doggie door – having 5 dogs that range from 9lbs to 90lbs does cause some wear and tear on the door, especially when they go flying out the door to chase squirrels. This was easy to replace and only needed minimal tools like pliers and a flat head screwdriver to wedge between tight areas.

A Bit like Hades but Worth 100 Bucks Saved
This product is a stellar replacement for my existing HD Andersen/Emco large doggy door that is about 3 years old now. I have a 70 lb staffy who barrels in and out of the door constantly charging all fauna and sometimes mistakenly flora too regardless of rain, sleet, or snow so I can’t blame Andersen- she put it through the ringer for sure.Andersen only sells the entire unit at about 150 bucks, and all I needed was this flap- it’s perfect! That said, removing the little plastic piece that holds the rod was like HE double hockey sticks on Earth, and replacing it was even worse. I broke one plastic piece stub clean off which was fine because you only need to remove one.Hints that come from my trials and tribulations:1- don’t twist the little plastic piece that holds the rod haha2- Before you go to reassemble in the door, put the front and back pieces together firat- the little plastic piece end caps must line up in the correct position or it won’t go back together3- Two people for reinstallation is probs easiest, but I did it myself after much suffering so it can be doneAll in all, worth the pain for the gain of 100 bucks not spent and I’ll do it again in 3 more years if needed!

    Should be easy
This replacement fits great and does what it should. Wish I had it over the summer to keep the flies out. My only issue was the replacement wasn’t as smooth as I hoped. It sounded simple, pop the tabs out, slide the rod in and replace the tabs, then reinsert in the door. My issue was that the rod was difficult to line up on the other side but with a steady hand, I finally got it. The frustrating part was reinserting the tabs, I had to remove some of the plastic and sand it down to make the tabs reinsert. I thought, “it came out, should fit back in,” but it didn’t. I noted that the tabs had a flat side that needed lining up but they still wouldn’t budge. It may have just been my door but worth mentioning if anyone else has issues with their replacement.

Great replacement but read for tips
Okay so I have the smaller door for my cats, and the bottom flap fell off/the rubber seal that connects it to the middle piece finally tore. Many people say theirs have done that too, hence the replacement door. But these break in roughly a year, the replacement isn’t cheap!I actually took the plastic pieces apart on the new one apart and took the rubber seals out. Since you can remove the rubber pieces, you have two replacements instead of one 😊This also means you don’t have to take the entire door off too!To do this: there’s screws on the plastic window on both sides. You have to loosen those screws up on the side where the broken seal is, then gently separate the plastic with a flathead screw driver to allow you to slide the black rubber piece out. Since the flap already fell off, I tossed that part, and took the bottom flap off the new door leaving the seal/rubber on the bottom and the black piece on the top. Then take that new piece over to the door and slide it back in place 😊 obviously this will only work if one of the rubber seals is busted, but definitely saves money!Very happy since these doors aren’t cheap. The replacements are quality though, looks exactly like the original.

    Holds Up Under Heavy Use
We’ve been using this type of pet door for years now and I’ve ordered 2 replacements as needed. I have two dogs between 50-70 pounds and they both fit through the flap easily. The younger one seems to charge the flap as she bounds in and out of the house and it will hold up for about 2-3 years with that type of abuse. Eventually, the lower hinge starts to break apart and a replacement looms. No fault of the flap itself but more of a rambunctious 50 pound dog slapping it up against the door all day, every day. We live in South Texas and this is installed in a storm door between the house and a screened-in back patio so the exterior is exposed to extremely high temps during the summers. It does a decent job of keeping the heat out and the A/C in except when the German Shepard will lay in the house on the cool tile with her nose sticking out the lower flap. I didn’t notice a change in my electric bill once we installed the door. It’s easy to install/replace, easy to clean, and the flap swings back and forth easily without any noticeable drag, noise, or squeaking. It’s also light weight enough that it doesn’t cause any discomfort to the dogs as they learn how to use it. The fact that it’s clear is a great help so they can see the treat on the other side as I trained them to use the door.
