Didnt last one night for my dog. He chewed it to shreds. Did seem to work good and give off heat for the few hours it was outside with him.

Lifesaver! I should’ve bought this years ago!!
I bought one of these for the outdoor cats I care for who have grown to love and trust me, but still want nothing to do with the indoors or being picked up. The pad arrived just in time for the cold snap. The cats absolutely loved it, one cat clung to it from the very moment I plugged it in to check that it was working. I had to dump him off to set it up in the shelter, and he was back on the instant it was down again. The box indicates you cannot use this heated pad with an extension cord, which meant it couldn’t go in the greenhouse. So I build a platform on the patio using cinder blocks to raise the pad off the ground and keep it fully supported, left the shipping cardboard under the pad but on top of the cinder blocks, then surrounded that with upended cinderblocks to act as wall supports, and wrapped the outside with trash bags I split open flat. On top of the upended cinderblocks I placed a Maccourt Supertub, flipped over to act as a roof. It’s as if they were made for each other. Then I layered more bags over the top , hanging off the edges to protect against driving rain and act as a drip edge, and weighted that all down with found bricks. As it began to snow, I noticed the wind was blowing snow into the entrances and the heat of the blanket was melting it. So I used cardboard and planters to block off the entrances and make a sort of S shape exit for the cats but to block the snow blowing in. Eventually the falling snow would mostly block 2 of their 3 exits, which helped retain their body heat, and the hide started to look almost like an igloo.Even at 16 degrees F, minus wind chill, it was warm and cozy in their hide. If you stuck your hand in and touched a spot of the heated matt, you hand was immediately warmed. Instead of huddling together in a mass together looking miserable, the cats were visibly happy and actually went out to play a number of times.I was worried the cats would wind up melting so much snow they’d electrocute themselves, even though the packaging specifically mentions the device is intended for a wet dog to be safe, I didn’t know if I believed it or not. Thankfully, the promises were true, the pad really worked wonderfully!I liked this so well I bought another.–TLDR; They’re awesome just get it!

Tried to answer questions I had before purchasing
Just got ours two days ago tested it in the house with a pillow per instructions put it in her dog house and she loves it! Seems to be high quality works great . I built the dog house to fit the pad used R15 foam board as insulation seems warm in her house. She spends a lot of time in her house now and can still do her job of protecting our house and yard. We live in the country and also have free range chickens witch she protects from predators. So Iâm glad to make her life a little easier show her the love she shows us. This is rigid plastic not a lot of flex so keep that in mind. The cord is protected by a steel coil all the way to the plug. The fleece pad has elastic bands on corners like a fitted sheet. Our dog does chew things but I donât think thatâs going to be a problem due to the way this is made. She has chewed dog beds in the past but this is flat and she only seems to want to lay on it( sure it feels good in the cold weather. At this point Iâd highly recommend this for your pet. Sheâs a red healer and sheds too much to come inside and also tears up thing in the house. I feel good about her outside now. She also barks and alerts when people come up thatâs also her job so itâs a win win to have her out and happy!

Not weighted, continuously heats
Once plugged in, it continously heats. Not weighted. Top cover soft and nice, if your dog doesn’t chew it to shreds like mine did. I had to cover it with another thin blanket as it is hard plastic. Good so far. Fit my aussie shepard.

Outside Dog House
I have a dog who refuses to come in during the winter months and to keep her warm we have purchased this product. We had one previously that quit working before the end of the 2nd winter so hope this one lasts longer.

Provides warmth for my outdoor cat
I purchased this heating pad for our neighborhood cat that we started feeding and caring for. We had a cat house built and put the pad inside. The pad is VERY hard, and then it has a thin cover over the top of it. Even though it is hard, my cat seems to enjoy it. The pad does not seem to get hot….just warm. I tried to cover it with another thin blanket to make it a little more comfortable, however, it didn’t seem to provide much heat through the blanket. The heating pad did it’s job and the cat made it through winter. I will leave the heating pad in there year round to provide warmth on the cool nights.

Purchased/donated to someone who helps/rescues feral/abondoned residential neighbourhood cats. recommended by a kind woman who builds the wooden cat shelters for free labor/donated wood for our cold winters to help abandoned and feral cats and cat rescue societies and businesses who take care of no-owner cats.

This is the cornerstone of the cat shelter I built for my cat. The shelter is insulated, and designed to be draft-proof. It is a good size for one cat, not too big, not too small. In principle, it should be large enough for comfort, but small enough to build up heat quickly and retain it. The pad helps kitty achieve his heating requirements. He seems very well rested and cozy when he comes out of his shelter to eat or play.

Love this item. I use it in an enclosed dog kennel to keep my 3 barn cats warm. I covered it with straw, and they LOVE it!! Will be great for outdoor feral cat houses also!

I have owned this product for about 5 weeks. Like some other reviewers of this product elsewhere, at first my dog would not use this pad. It is hard and he preferred his old cushion even when I removed the cushion from the doghouse and left it outside. However with some time and encouragement he has now accepted the heated pad. He likes to lie with his backside on the heated pad and his front on his old cushion. This works well as he has an injured hip and the heat is very soothing. I have noticed a distinct improvement in that he no longer limps.
