Excellent for it’s price, additional tools required.
It worked out great for me provided during the install I already had* silicone calk* rivet gun / puller* drill* saw*relavent safety gear.I found out my door was aluminum! Please double check before starting as it requires different tools.With all that in hand, the install was super straight forward.Measure dogs height as pictured in the ad. ( Chest to top of head) added 3 inches to door. ( Should have been 5 for large breed dog but I already have a 2 inch step) taped template to one side of door.Re measured, took pics to make sure I liked the placement. Took door off hinges.Drilled in the indicated drill spots. Cut the indicated cut section ( not well lol but did).Removed left over bits, flipped, did the same on the back.Carefully made sure the insides fit one at a time. Then both.Used the caulking between the two sheets as instructed. Clamped all sides as instructed.Drilled holes for rivets. Inserted rivets. Left to dry ( sili cone) made sure flaps were even on magnets and not hanging or stuck on the clamps.After recomended time for my specific silicone ( 2 hrs) removed clamps re installed door. Realized I didn’t do the outer seam, applied silicone on outer edge ( where the edge of the product meets the door, as my door is not flat.)All in all took about 4 hrs ( about 1.5 of actual work) to do everything from opening the box to dogs walking threw.Currently been about 2- 3 months and no issues.

Good pet door
I really like how sturdy the door is the magnets are great. I like the design of the aluminum block off plat itâs much more sturdy that the plastic ones you get on others doors. The only complaint I have is in very cold weather â-10fâ the outside flap snapped in half. Itâs less than a month old. Replacement was easy to order from Amazon but price is half of what I paid for the whole door. That is why Iâm only giving it 3 stars.

Very sturdy pet door.
I never thought I’d pay $150 for a pet door, but after reading lots of reviews I bought this. It arrived very well packaged with no damage. The description says it fits doors up to 2.3″ thick. My back storm door is 3/4″ thick. I was impressed by the quality of the product so I accepted the challenge of making it fit. I used an angle grinder with a cut-off wheel to trim the inner frame on both halves. This gave me the correct thickness for my door. I put the halves together and drilled screw holes (there are not predrilled), then fit it in the door and drlled the attachment holes. I used bigger screws than those supplied. I cut the door hole using the template but the hole is bigger than necessary. If I did this again I’d set the pet door where I want it and trace around it to get a more accurate opening. Being a metal storm door, I removed it and set it on a work bench for easier access. I gave it 5 Stars bc I like the quality and I enjoyed the project. The frames are all metal so it appears to be intended for a door of 2.3″ thickness. IMO, if you have a door thinner than 2.3″ and you want it to fit flush, expect to do a little McGivering. I think it’s worth the effort but opinions might vary.

Good quality.
Very happy with this pet door. I have two labs that spend their days going in and out the door. I have had this for about a year and the flaps are still working great. I really like the dual flaps that both insulate the the opening and prevent wind from blowing the flaps open. The magnets on the sides of the flaps definitely help keep the flaps straight and sealed. The flush mounting is much more attractive than some of the bulky plastic framed pet doors I have had in the past. I used the provided Pop Rivets that are hidden to the inside edge of the pet door, making it a very secure and clean installation. No complaints from me or the dogs. Its a win

Dog door, poorly and flimsy. Do not buy
Flaps came off and the blockers that I put on the dogs opened theme right open. the blockers did not hold dogs in or out. There weren’t any protection plans to buy. Flimsy poorly made product. Do no buy. My 3 dogs can’t get outside which now I have to wake up in the middle of the night. I can not afford to buy another dog door and I own an acre I have to get up night and all through day. I purchased the dog door so when I leave the house I wouldn’t have to come home to accidents and not to get up all the time for 3 dogs.

Itâs so quiet compared to our last door, tedious install for our door but we love it so far!!Works great but my dog chewed a corner and I donât know how to get in contact with the seller about possible replacing one of the plastic doors

Update!Itâs now almost spring and itâs still a great door. I took one flap out while we trained which did the trick, then easily added it back. Still very pleased!Disclaimer: We’ve only had it installed for a day. I’ll try to remember to update next spring after we’ve had it through at least one cold season.I can’t speak much to installation since our handyman did it for us, but it didn’t take him long at all to install it. He’s familiar with how to do it though, so I’m not sure if it’s actually easy or that it was just easy for him.The door itself is very sturdy and the flaps secure very well to the magnets. He added some caulking to help seal it but I’m not sure that was even necessary. I was pleasantly surprised at how solid and secure it is with the locks on. Of course, just having a doggie door makes the door itself less secure, but I would feel comfortable here alone as long as it was locked.Overall, I’m so pleased and relieved that it’s such good quality. I’d spend quite a bit of time researching different doors and this was definitely the right decision. Now to train these cute little beasts to use it!
