Works great to keep dogs out – cats, not so much
I bought this to replace a plastic baby gate at the top of my stairs to that was really annoying to open and shut because of how narrow the space is.I hoped the gate would be effective to keep the dogs and cats separated while Iâm not home and it only half accomplishes that because my cats are still able to squeeze under the bottom of the mesh and get through even when the cat door is zippered shut. The button that keeps the cat door neatly open broke almost immediately but that doesnât prevent us from being able to use it.Installation was a breeze, and the latch is fairly easy to do single-handedly. I like the slim profile, its height, and the retractable design as well as the flexible panels that keep the mesh panels standing upright and not sagging.The material has also held up surprisingly well to lots of scratching.Overall, I still prefer this gate to others and think it was well worth the money, but would love it even more if they could figure out a design that allows the bottom to stay firmly down so my cats canât wiggle through it.

Cat/Small/medium dog can fit through hole! (But that probably means your baby can too)
I have a 57in cut out between the living room and kitchen that a regular baby/dog gate wouldn’t fit within reason. I found these retractable baby gates and I thought this was perfect because not only do we need to easily get in/out of the living room and kitchen we also have an elderly woman living with us (she’s 78 and still going!) I wanted her to have ease opening/closing the baby gate as well. We use the kitchen to feed our cat and our two dogs so they also needed to be able to easily get in/out of the kitchen to eat and I saw it had a pet door, though none of the reviews actually showed any pets going in/out the doors so I bought it in hopes they would fit. Turns out it’s perfect for our cat and 2 smallish dogs (chihuahua/pom mix and cockerspaniel/jack Russell mix) but that probably means my baby can fit through the hole as well, oh well. Maybe we won’t use the pet door but it’s nice to have the option!1. Great for larger openings/sturdy and easy to mount.2. Pet door is decent size and can fit cats/small/medium size dogs (but probably a baby too)3. Decently priced in comparison to other baby/pet gates and gives more of a seamless look.4. Easy to clean (probably shouldn’t have gotten white) breathable mesh.5. Comes with extra parts in case you break any like I did with the drywall anchors. (Drill through studs if you can)

Excellent for teen chickens
I was looking for a way to introduce the chicks that we were raising to the older chickens in our flock. This was perfect to install in our run to allow the big chickens to hear them and get used to them as well as allowing the little chickens to get used to be outside and be safe. There is a little zippered doorway at the bottom that can allow the chickens to come and go. When you donât need it anymore, you just retract it and leave it. I am so pleased with this purchase. It would also be good if you need to create a âhospitalâ are for an injured chicken to keep them safe but still with their flock near. Super easy to install and well made.

Poor quality
The gate is just cheaply made. The wall hooks are not made for this gate or something. No matter how back you off set them the gate will pop out from the slightest touch which happens when a cat/small day goes through the opening. I have other gates like this just not this brand & I have zero issues so it is just this gates really poor design. I wouldnât trust it on a large open space because if you forget to lock it and it get blown by the wind it will whip back into place and could seriously damage your house or hurt your pets.
