The plastic on the door is crystal clear.
So simple to install and the magnet on the bottom of the door is nice and strong and the dog flap is perfectly clear so pups can see thru it.

Perfect fit and easy to install
We were replacing an existing worn pet door, and this was the only one we found that looked similar to the one currently in the door and matched the measurements. We were pleasantly surprised that it fit perfectly and was easy to install.

Quality Door, Too Deep for Sliding Glass Patio Insert
I previously purchased a sliding glass patio door insert from ideal/perfect pet products, it has a pet door that required some old parts to be replaced. I bought this pet door thinking it would fit as a full replacement: this did not work. This pet door is made for a real door so its much deeper even at its lowest setting then the glass patio door, however, I was able to use the flap and slide (they seem to be interchangeable at the same size). For the cost to replace the old parts, this door was worth it. This product arrived very fast and well packaged.I also recommend calling ideal pet products if you have absolutely any questions about the fit of their products and parts, customer service is excellent.

Excellent Solution For Inside Basement Door
Installation was fairly straightforward. Easy to trace template when on a saw horse. To keep level – measure up from bottom of door with adjustable square and make a few pencil marks. Perfect size for cats that are medium size. As others have mentioned the hole will be slightly larger than is needed so you will have to be mindful to keep squaring up the door as you CAREFULLY tighten the screws. They are self threading and going into plastic. I went on the manufacturer’s website and found this model was the only one that would fit my overly thick door.

The new product has a weaker magnet
I have purchased several of these through the years as my dachshunds tend to beat them up! I just installed my new one however the magnet that holds the door shut is nowhere near as strong as the older ones and it doesn’t take much wind for it to blow back and forth. Also the door flat fitting is not as wide as it needs to be therefore let’s in some air from The Great Outdoors. Great for the money but not made like they used to be.

The door works great and was super easy to install, I added a decorative window film to the entry flap and it looks great.Make sure you have the proper saw for cutting through your door.

I had to replace an old small door for my two new larger dogs. For quality and ease of installation you canât beat this one. Also the flexible flap is nice and quiet compared to the clunky plastic rigid door of other brands. Very happy with purchase

Had to get a bigger dog door as my pet outgrew the smaller petsafe brand door. In my opinion this is a better quality door at a cheaper price. Satisfied customer for sure

Fit my needs, vinyl? door is a little stiff. Screws that secure sides together seem longer than necessary… Would buy again at same price.

I just finished installing it. It’s easy to install and looks good when complete.Tried cutting my steel exterior door with a jigsaw, but the blade was a bit short. Saber saw made short work of it. The cutting template was good (the cutting templated is the plastic slide door). It was pretty easy to install. The “middle screw” holes are not centered between the other screw holes, and if you aren’t careful you can install the exterior panel upside down. If employees from Perfect Pet read these reviews, I am going to suggest that centering that screw would reduce installation frustrations at no cost to Perfect Pet – sounds like an easy Christmas bonus to me :)My biggest complaint about the installed product is that the wind is holding the flap open, and there isn’t much wind. Even without the wind I’m skeptical it will close as the plastic is fairly stiff in the cold (-5C or 23F today). I suspect it is stiff enough to keep it from closing. It gets a lot colder here. So basically this door is going to be like leaving a window open. The plastic slide to close the door is well built and works well when I remove it from the box. However, it doesn’t slide very freely when installed on my steel door. I speculate that when I tightened the screws, that it likely slightly bent the plastic frame to match the door. I think my steel door is as flat as they come, but perhaps there is something unusual about my door. Again if the Perfect Pet folks read these reviews, they might want to look at increasing the tolerances on the slide. The instruction indicate not to place the bottom of the door less than 4″ from the ground. I bought it for a cat, and I feel that’s a bit high for some pets.I have no experience with other pet doors.
