More pieces to put together than I expected, but once you get started with a few it goes pretty quick. So far our older dog has used it a couple times after some treat training with it. Our bed is really tall and she was starting to struggle getting up and off of it so these stairs should really help. The ability to reconfigure it is a nice feature. All plastic but seems sturdy. Our dog is just about 60lbs.

Perfect for my chihuahua mix
I have a tall king size bed, and my smaller dog has trouble jumping high enough for it. Iâve tried other puppy steps, but they were either flimsy or not tall enough. This is perfect. It is versatile. There are multiple different ways to put it together. I choose to have it wrap around the end of my bed like the product photo. My dogs took to it immediately.There is one con. The instructions for assembly are a nightmare. Itâs not entirely clear what goes where. This is actually made worse by the multiple ways to put it together. It can be easy to lose your place and get the various instructions confused. On the other hand, if my mother and I can figure it out, anyone can.Overall, this has been an excellent product. Despite the assembly issues, having something that helps my dog get on the bed whenever he likes without lifting him up myself has been worth it.

A chihuahuaâs best gift
These stairs are fantastic. Weâve had them for 6 months now and the only issue was the carpet, but thatâs on my dogs not the manufacturer. They were exceptionally easy to assemble. Directions were clear. The carpets do come off and wash right up but ours only lasted from the teeth assault for about a month or so. You can see in the photos the height as compared to a kitchen countertop. This is perfect for our SleepNumber bed too. Almost even at the top. Our sight limited Chi (the chocolate) will not jump up on anything but these stairs and the top has to be almost even with the bed. He actually became more confident once I replaced the carpet – high contrast maybe? Idk. The other pic of the two Chiâs at the first step is for size comparison for a 5-5.5 lb Chi. We also purchased the 4 steps with the hole for the doggie house from this manufacturer. Same great quality. Overall Iâd rate this as one of the best doggie Amazon purchases all time. Do yourself a favor and get your chihuahua or dachshund one too!

Very Pricey Back Saver
My 60 lb. Bully is my constant companion. She’s slept on the foot of my bed since the very first night she came to me. At that time she was 30 lbs. and I could boost her bottom without issue. Due to excellent diet and proper exercise, she bulked up, doubled in weight, and became a strain to boost. I chose this model of pet steps due to their versatility despite the (holy cow!) cost. but it’s a good design, so I guess that’s why blown plastic can fetch a pretty penny. Now I gave it only four stars for two reasons; First, The two main components, after assembly are only held together by the long piece of carpet tread held on by velcro strips, which is not adequate support for any orientation. Second; Said velcro strips are mounted to the steps by small screws only, resulting in the carpet tread pulling away. My fix will require a bonding agent for the velcro to hold to the step. I would have given five stars if the company had not cheaped-out on these two points. At this price, it should not have to be tweaked by me, the customer. It is a good design and was the best choice for me with what’s on the market.***Update****Oct. 30, 2023After a couple of months use, I’ve machine washed the carpet treads with poor results. The carpet surface is fine, however the mesh backing is in tatters. There are strings hanging all over the place. I appreciate these light weight steps and my fat bully girl does too, but I’m frowning on how cheaply the finished product is and wondering how to compensate . It is white carpet and will need to be washed every couple of months.

Will not stay together.
Stairs require assembly. Assembly consists of inserting stair treads with round tenons into stair sides with round mortises. Plastic stair tread tenons are improperly manufactured so that they wonât fully seat into the mortises, which means they constantly fall apart. This means that anytime the dogs try to climb the stairs they collapse, scaring the crap out of the dog and pissing me off. Finally had to screw them together, but at this point Iâm not sure the dogs will ever go near them again. Save yourself and your dogs the headache buy something else.
