Went in smoothly
The directions were not straight forward as they were meant for multiple size doors but once we paired the size we had to the correct template it moved quickly. We didnt get a final picture but it set in the door nicely and is easy to use. This unit has the security door that slides in to lock it.

Works well and the dog loves it!
We bought a house and the door already had a dog door, but it was old and gross. So we bought this to put in place of the existing dog door. It’s sturdy and works well. Despite other reviews, the magnets on the door work well and always close. The plastic screws were silly, but we used them and they do work. I also like the cover – it slides on and off easily and securely “locks” in place to prevent it from being opened from the outside.The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars is because it was a little tough to install. Even after we cut the hole to the proper size, we had a hard time lining everything up and getting the screws to go in perfectly. The corners are a bit stretched, but we made it work. Overall, I would definitely recommend this door.

Purchased both the Extreme Weather Efficient Door (for exterior door from garage) and the Pet Safe Freedom Aluminum Pet Door (from laundry room into garage). Both have excellent and clear instructions. They are well made and fit tightly. And have a panel you can insert or snap on (depending on the door) if you want to block them. I was a little concerned about the nylon screws, but they didn’t strip. I did shear the head off one of the ones on the Freedom Door from over tightening, but I called PetSafe and they are sending a replacement. Highly recommended. I have installed a variety of pet door in other houses and these are the best I’ve seen. They nicely cover the core of the door too.Comment: When cutting your door, if it is not wood, use a long blade (for metal) in your jigsaw. My doors are fiberglass and insulation (one was a fire door, the other an exterior door). I melted my old wood blade half way through my first door and had to run to the hardware store where I found the Bosch T3218F3 T-shank blade. It worked a whole lot better. My doors are 1-3/4″ thick and the longer blade is needed. Probably available on Amazon too.

Easy to install
This is my second one. The first one lasted for a very long time but eventually with wear and tear and a friends larger dog going through it, the screw became stripped. I love the durability and the magnetic close feature. My dog will only use it on our screened in porch so he loves it.

Very nice pet door, easy to install
This is a pet door of very nice quality. Installation was easy, I did not even take the door down and just cut the hole and drilled while the door was vertical. Everyone freaking out about the nylon bolts just need to dial it down a notch. There are several advantages to the nylon bolts and I understand why they are spec’d: 1) they are slightly flexible and therefore make the job of aligning the front and rear sections easier since it is unlikely that anyone is drilling exactly perpendicular and there will be some offset between the front and back mounting holes, 2) they are not metal and therefore will not corrode when exposed to weather, and 3) their length can be trimmed to exactly the right length allowing for different door widths to be accommodated. They worked fine for me, if you are stripping the heads or the threads you are simply subjecting them to too much torque.

La puerta esta bien construida, cumple su funcion y el diseño es delgado y estetico. Tiene una guia para el tamaño de corte de la puerta y es facil de instalar ya teniendo el espacio donde irá.Los tornillos son de plastico para que facilmente puedas recortar el sobrante y no queden salidos, pero si tienes las herramientas de corte recomendaria comprar de metal para mayor soporte y durabilidad. A veces la solapa deja huecos pequeños por lo que buscaria otra opcion si vives en clima extremo y necesitas controlar la temperatura del hogar.
