    Basset Hound Ramp
I have a Basset Hound that my wife and I take with us almost everywhere we go. We purchased the Solvit Deluxe XL Pet Ramp to make it easier and safer for my Basset to get in and out of my SUV. The door will not open far enough to hold the complete top edge of the ramp, but with the addition of the Solvit Door Adapter, it works great! The seat holds the one side of the ramp and the adapter holds the other side. The adapter is very easy to use, just hook it to the top edge of the door and adjust the length of the strap to where it hooks on to the ramp. The ramp is adjustable in length which allows us to use it for my wife’s car or my SUV. My Basset Hound is a big dog and has short legs. This gives him a very stable ramp which he is not afraid to use.

Great solution for those with vehicle doors that don’t open all the way
I wanted to write a review because there are some who had difficulty with the instructions or how this works. I had no trouble getting it assembled, and once it is adjusted to the right size you can just keep it ready to go for the next time. Mine came with three ramp adapters for the different Solvit products. The one I have just locks onto the side ramp rail, and then connects with a sturdy strap to a rubber coated hook that goes over the truck door. Worked great in my case, especially with a tall truck that doesn’t have the giant crew cab. I just angle the ramp with as much on the seat as possible, and use this to support the part that hangs off. Perfect solution for people with a double cab truck like mine where the back doors don’t open 90 degrees.

DANGEROUS: Does not safely attach is a secure / fully locking manner.
Purchased for use with my new PetSafe telescoping compact ramp. This adapter does not attach in a secure locking manner to the ramp, so it can come off when under tension (i.e. when your pet is using it). It’s just made of cheap plastic that secures over the lip on the edge of the ramp. It also prevents the ramp from fully retracting, so you’ll have to remove it each time to lock and store the ramp itself. Totally impractical. Poor instructions for assembly as well.

Works OK but should include additional piece to secure on right side.
Use this with my solvit ramp I also purchased. At first it seems like you will break the plastic part that clips to the edge of the metal ramp but once you get the hang of it then it works great. However, it only takes care of the left side where the door is. It would be nice if this clamp/strap kit came with something for the right side where the back of the seat is for those of us who have to put the ramp all the way up to the seat and not just to the floor board. My dog can’t jump at all, so I must brace the ramp all the way to the back seat. I had to use a small bungie cord, wrapped around the back seat hinge and clipped to the ramp on the right side to prevent the ramp from sliding in either direction at all. With both sides secure then the ramp is very stable.

This strap does not work with all bifold pet ramps.
I like the idea but it does not connect to my bifold pet ramp?

    Good solution
It has to be positioned properly, but if done right very dependable.

    Stabilizer for Solvit Ramps
This adapter stabilizes my Solvit Ramp while using the side door of my SUV. Since the side door does not open fully to properly stabilize the ramp, this adapter when properly attached to the door, provides a secure surface for the dogs to use the ramp. The part that hangs from the door is a metal piece with rubber covering it so the paint on the vehicle is not scratched. Which type of Solvit Ramp you purchase determines which clip (good grade of plastic) you use in the adapter assembly. My dogs are under 50 lbs so I had no worry about the weight load of the adapter. I am so happy this product came on the market.

    Not steady, scratches paint
This review is about my attempt to use this on a 2013 LR4. You might get different results.Had high hopes for this item, but does not work well. There is no way to make is secure, so it swings back and forth several inches like a rope bridge. Attempting to lower it a bit so it rests on the wheel arch doesn’t steady it, but does cause significant scratches to your car paint where it moves back and forth. My dog is already skittish due to some hip pain, so there was no way he was going to walk on this swinging rope bridge contraption.

Sirve pero la rampa no queda del todo fija y mi perro no tuvo confianza oara usarla asi. Tal vez sea por el carro que es una camioneta pequeña.

Works well and makes the ramp much safer for bringing a dog into the back seat of a family sedan. It took me a few seconds to figure out that a number of parts are only included to fit different sized ramps. Also, it took a few seconds to figure out that the strap clip attaches to the ramp rail closest to the opened door. I thought the strap should run under the ramp and the clip attach to the side farthest from the opened door. But the intended assembly works fine and has been safe as long as the clip is carefully attached as designed.

Very helpful addition to the dog ramp

Bought this car ramp adapter along side the Streetwise folding car ramp on Amazon. It works a treat, really simple to fit on the car door & ramp and keeps it nice and sturdy for our 20kg dog. We now keep the adapter and ramp in the car boot for whenever we need it. We’ve used it on my Jeep Renegade and a Porsche 4×4 in photo. Would definitely recommend.

This works extremely well. I would not have been able to use my dog ramp without it. Great product.
