Golden labradoodle, good for touchups
For the money, I’m pretty happy with this set. For under $10, you get a sturdy pair of scissors, thinning sheers, and a tough metal comb. There’s no getting around it – these are a little on the smaller side, so if you’re looking for a portable kit that you can carry for quick touchups around the eyes and ears, then I think this set will do you nicely. The one thing I like the most about these sheers are the safety tips. I actually have another larger kit that I purchased on Amazon 2 years ago that work great, but I’m always a little nervous when I snip around the eyes. My pupper hates trims so its always a bit of a trick to get him to hold still long enough for me to get the snips done, and its always a little stressful because the ends come close to his eyes. I’m glad to not have to deal with it any more — I used these this morning to give him a quick touchup and it was much easier. It hadn’t occurred to me that a smaller set would be good for this but, here we are.Anyway, glad to have picked these up. If you have a bigger dog or one with tough hair, you might pass on these. But if you’re just looking for something smaller and safer that can do a more detailed job, then these will serve you well.

Nice for Quick Trims
These are good for trimming our dogs. Not too sharp however, but they still work well. The rounded scissors are good for trimming the pads of the feet and around the face.

Great trimming set
This trio of grooming items are perfect for grooming our small dog. The comb works wekl, she loves the feel of the teeth of the comb on her back. The scissors are sharp and are easy to use safely. Nice set.

Okay scissor set. Not super sharp.
The scissor set is okay for the price and would meet the needs of most people at home grooming their pets. I have two course haired dogs that I groom at home (bouvier des flandres and a giant schnauzer). The scissors don’t like my bouvs hair but work okay but were fine on the schnauzer’s silkier hair.If you have larger hands look for a different set. I have small hands and the scissors are almost too small for my hands. Otherwise they’re an okay set for someone looking to trim up their dogs hair.

FANTASTIC!
I used these to trim my dogs tonight, and oh -em-gee. LOVE this set! It’s really inexpensive (to me) for what you get – a zipper case, a pair of rounded-tip scissors, thinning shears, and a metal comb. I got my dogs all cleaned up with this set (and additionally I used a set of clippers which were not part of this set but I also got at Amazon).I’m VERY happy that the set included a storage solution, the black zippered case. THAT was an appreciated touch! The rounded tips of the scissors, of course, were quite helpful when I was trimming around my dog’s eyes so I could feel a little less terrified of having something near her eyes. The scissors and thinning shears were sharp and did the job I got them for. I was able to clean up my dog’s haircut without any mess-ups and they look great. And the price? YES, please! Highly recommend!

Decent Grooming Kit for the Pricepoint
This groomers set includes sissors with a blunt end (I guess that’d make them safety sissors?) so that it reduces the change of an injury with working with a skirmy dog reduces. The carrying/storage case is a nice touch and would recomend for the pricepoint ($7 at time of review).

Decent enough for home use.
These are decent enough for home use, but I wouldn’t recommend them for a professional salon. My pair needed adjustment before it could be used. The main scissors needed a fair amount of tightening because the two parts wobbled wildly. It took a pair of pliers to tighten them because the rubber grommet below the nut on the tension screw made it too stiff to turn by hand. That’s well enough, it means it won’t loosen on its own, and that part I like. Still, it would have been nice if they would have been properly adjusted before shipping. The scissors cut well enough. I love having the thinning shears in the kit, as that will come in handy in the spring when a certain golden retriever will need a good trim for the warmer weather.Once the scissors were tightened well enough to not wobble, they are stiff to open and close. That would make it quite tiring to do multiple animals in one day. One or two would probably be fine. I loosened mine up again just slightly to attempt to balance between stability and ease of use. When loosened, however, it does not cut as well towards the screw, but cut well enough the last inch-and-a-half towards the scissors tip.The comb is supposed to have rounded tips to make it more comfortable in combing, however, my comb has tips that are cut even straight across, like thin cylinders with flat ends. The edges aren’t sharp, however, and it’s quite smooth in use. It’s more comfortable than my personal comb that I use for myself, so it must be good enough for my pets. Nice to have one that’s so easy to clean.

Works well for home grooming
I have a cavapoo with fur that is more on the poodle side. She needs trimming regularly. First home grooming, I tried to use the scissors that came with the clipper kit. Those were so dull. This grooming scissor kit worked so much better for her latest trimming. The slightly curved scissors were sharp, cut smoothly and the blunted ends made me feel more confident to use around her face. I used the shears around the edges of where I changed blade lengths to smooth the change out vs being so noticeable. It definitely made this trim look much more “finished” than the previous one did. I also appreciate the zip up case to keep them in between uses. This one much better than the “mommy” cut she got last time thanks to having a decent scissor kit.
