I’ve got two dogs, one is a German Shepherd and the other is a smaller mutt with some GSD and Husky in him.The little guy has never had issues with stool consistency, but the GSD, as is known for her breed, has a sensitive stomach. This means that even foods labeled for sensitive stomachs are typically not going to do much to prevent a mushy pile.This food is great for keeping things consistent, so long as we’re not adding too many variables with table scraps or treats. Both of my dogs are healthy, fit, and shiny-coated with the help of this food as their nutritional foundation.Plus, the 35 pound bag fits perfectly into my 35 liter / 40 pound food container with a little wiggle room!

Our Family dog Mickey was brought to an Emergency Vet Clinic and diagnosed with IMHA. The Veterinarian in care of our dog asked what food she was on and at that time she had been put on a Vegan dog food as recommend with our family Vet. Only to rule out what could be the problem with her alway’s scratching her ear’s and other part’s. And to be Honest I don’t believe it was of any help to her. The Veterinarian then suggested to switch her food to the Purina Pro Plan for Sensitive Skin @ Stomach Salmon. This item also comes in a can which was perfect for me to put her medication into and hide it. So far so good not scratching her ear like she used to but now how a dog like’s to.

This food was a life saver for my goldendoodle with a sensitive tummy and chicken allergy. He’s been on it for almost year, perfect poos and good skin and fur. In the last couple of months the food was harder to access and when it came back on the shelves it said new formula and they had removed the probiotics. Within a couple of weeks my dog was itching and licking his paws constantly and his poops were getting loose and mushy, impossible to pick up. Also less interested in the kibble, sometimes not even finishing, which is bizarro world for my food motivated doggo. Tried adding a probiotic and that didn’t help. Finally made a food change and he’s already stopped chewing his paws and his poops are back to solid. Gobbling down his meals like usual. Why a company would make a formula change on a food made for a sensitive stomach is beyond me. So frustrating. Do not recommend.
