Well made and easy to install
I bought this to keep my two cats separated when I travel. They don’t always get along and it’s easier for the cat sitter. Once I found the instructions – they were in the box with the hardware – it was easy to follow. I did not screw it into the wall (didn’t want to damage the wallpaper) but you can adjust the tension enough that the cats can’t pull it down. If I was using it for a dog, I would probably screw it to the wall depending on the size of the dog, and I would definitely attach it to the wall with a young child. The gate comes with (2) 4-inch extensions that you can add to make it fit a wider area. These are never mentioned in the installation instructions, but it’s obvious how to put it on, so that wasn’t an issue. I did have to use one of the extensions.It is well-made. The gate and frame are all metal. There were no sloppy solder joints – it’s all smooth. I’m sure that the black rubber pieces that go against the wall will leave marks eventually but that’s a trade-off for having the security of the gate. The bars are vertical so they can’t be climbed. I like the 3-foot height which will keep my cats apart when necessary. Note that if someone else is thinking of using this for cats, or dogs, there would be two things to consider. A small cat, kitten or puppy might be able to fit through the gaps or get their head wedged between the bars which are spaced 2″ apart – plus there are over 2-1/2″ + gaps on either side by the wall (for my installation). A healthy cat or many dogs can easily jump 3 feet. (My cats have physical limitations.) This would be perfect for a small child. The latch requires a little bit of dexterity and strength to open – enough to deter a child.For the money, this is a great value!

Does the job
I got this for my porch at my apartment as a gate for my dogs. Iâve had it a few months. No rusting and it keeps my dogs on the porch. My only complaint is that that I had to extend the gate pretty far out on the screws theyâre mounted on. Used one extender piece, but both wouldnât fit. The gate feels a little wobbly extended that far. Iâve not had any issues but I feel like if I were to lean on it or fall on it it might not handle that very well. Overall looks nice and does the job just fine.

Super easy to build myself. No extra tools needed other than whatâs in the box. I purchased two, one for the hallway, and one for the stairs. The gate itself is very sturdy, even though itâs against the stair railing and not a wall on one side. My only complaint is that the latch is a little bit difficult to open and close with one hand in my opinion. But it looks great and works well. I recommend using with the rubber caps.

We had a need to block a stairwell to prevent our puppy from getting access to the upstairs carpet while training. Once constructed and installed, it took some time to adjust it to make it easy to open but not fall down.The assembly was pretty easy and instructions clear.I would recommend this gate for the price point and functionality. Looks pretty decent too.

Safety First Love tall Gate
What can I say when you get a puppy you need to keep your cats in a safe room so I found this extra tall gate that just does it. My cats have the front porch that is a four season. Are there stuff out there and they love it. I go out there. They come out here at night. Everybody is safe and thatâs what I love
