Absolutely nothing wrong with this dog door!
I just wish all our dogs agreed with me! We upgraded to this door from a smaller one when we looked for one our Bernese Mountain Dog could fit through. The rescued lab mix never flinched, sailed right through it, both directions, no problem. One of our two Shih-Tzus finally mustered enough muscle to make it through the double layer of flaps to come in, but not out, then after a few days she conquered both directions (it was a process). We have high hopes for the 9-pound Tzu, but she’s still a bit intimidated. Fortunately, when her sister makes it through, she comes to find me and let me know the little one is still out in the 23-degree weather. The BMD, however, has decided it’s beneath his dignity and he still enjoys the personal human touch to his comings and goings; hence, we remain his staff. But I repeat: There is absolutely nothing wrong with this dog door! It’s well made, sturdy, installed easily enough, looks nice. Even the grandkids love it.

    Nice looking but……
I bought this dog door to replace my Ruff Weather brand door. I bought the Cybergate door primarily because it was available in black and the design was more attractive. It is more attractive but the installation is more of a hassle than the Ruff Weather, requiring the use of rivets. But a big concern is that the extra-large replacement flaps (I will eventually need them) are not readily available. I have emailed the company hoping for a response. It does look nice but I’ve saved my old Ruff Weather just in case.UPDATE: Unlike the Ruff Weather door, the Cybergate door can only be closed off from the OUTSIDE, using the panel provided. So, if you need to keep your dog INSIDE, you have to find a way to put a barrier in front of the dog door. This is a very inconvenient design flaw! If I had to do it again, I would sacrifice appearance for the better designed and easier installation of the Ruff Weather dog door. Live and learn!UPDATE 2: The company has been quite responsive to my inquiries; a real plus. They say the extra large flaps are out of stock but will inform me when available. They suggested that I installed the door in reverse which is why I can’t close my dog inside. It’s true that I could have installed the door in reverse but that still limits me to only one direction that can be blocked. Ideally, the design should have permitted blocking the opening from either direction. So far, I really like how the door looks and how well the flaps close and seal, thanks to the multiple magnets. I’ve upgraded my rating to 4 stars.

Easy to install and very durable
We installed this on our 8×10 heated dog houseIt was easy to install and is holding up to our 240 pound puppies who go in and out constantly! The magnets hold it closed so the heat stays in! Great product!

    Very well made!!!
I’ve never used a doggy door before this. I just had a screened in porch build and I wanted the dogs to be able to come and go as they please. We put the door into our screen with a frame. I’ve seen cheap plastic ones before but this is so well made. It is made of heavy duty aluminum with a black finish. There are two flaps and they seal very well. Im in the training process with the dogs and they are starting to get the hang of it. At night I can slide the solid black piece to keep out other critters. It’s adjustable for different thickness of walls. I ordered the large and my 95 lb German shepherd gets through just fine along with my 60lb husky mix. I would highly recommend this. I’m glad I didn’t buy the cheaper versions. This should last a very long time. I wanted something that would keep the bugs and water out the patio and this works great.

    Strong magnets
We bought this for a temporary rental (trailer) while we’re building our house. This came with rivets but since it was a trailer door we were able to secure it with door caulk. It actually worked out well. The magnets are strong and when the dog goes through it is pretty loud so if this is by a bedroom it may not be ideal. Other than that it’s a great door and doesn’t allow a to come draft in.

    Dude. Rivet gun required.
Solid product, good quality, but they don’t send you screws, they send you rivets. If you happen to have a rivet gun, way to go bob the builder. For the rest of us, buy some extra screws. Otherwise, good product, no complaints.

  7. johnny davis

You will need a rivet gun! Otherwise it’s perfect.
Extremely easy to install. You will need a jigsaw, drill with 5/32 bit and a rivet gun to complete the job. Instructions are very clear and it looks great on completion.
