This is a repeat purchase, which probably says it all.
I had been reading reviews and looking for a carrier when a vet emergency mandated an immediate local purchase. I found this carrier in a local feed store, and it was the only one that had the features I was looking for–manageable size (big enough for cats, small enough to carry), structured enough to not envelope an animal, but with the flexibility to get squished a bit to fit in unyielding spaces.I bought this (for substantially more than they sell on Amazon) and have been happy with the purchase. More to the point, the cats are happy with the carrier. I leave it open in the living room in a place they associate with play, and I often find them resting or sleeping in the carriers.I have three cats, and the two smaller (10 lbs each) cats have made vet trips in one carrier. The sturdy clip-on strap hooks over the headrest in the car, and I clip the seat belt around the strap (not the carrier body). The base has a velcro’d-in, removable fabric-covered board that can be taken out to clean, and a soft sherpa-covered removable pad for washing. I bought a two-pack of spare pads. These are machine washable, but come out a bit roughened up–I’d recommend giving them a hand wash unless they get dire. And the replacements are inexpensive enough to dispose of a badly-soiled pad if that seems necessary. These collapse flat for storage if desired. I’m just leaving them out for the girls to hang in so that a trip is less traumatic. Seems to work. I didn’t hear a peep out of them during the last trip in. (Getting two cats in one carrier, however, was a bit of a clown act. I recommend getting both cats and the carrier in a small room with doors shut before you begin.I think my earlier shopping difficulty was trying to find something that would meet all my possible carrier needs, trying to find something convenience for a vet run AND comfortable for international travel with long layovers. Necessity taught me that the reality is we’ll need this for short local runs much more often than longer trips, and if I need to, I can get something different. For today, this ticks all the boxes. If you’re in the same quandary I was in, I can tell you that these are well-made, seem very affordable, and the cats are so comfortable in them they hang out there. Seemingly no negative associations. I have different colors in the event that I have to travel with three cats, so I can sort out who is where at a glance.

The best cat carrier!
This is my second carrier, bought for my second cat. My other Sherpa carrier is still going strong after nearly 4 years! This carrier is so attractive and full of useful features! You can load your pet through the top or the front, which is definitely helpful. One of my cats prefers the front, while the other has to be lowered in through the top.I also love the base. There is a hard board so that you get a solid bottom, but there’s a washable Sherpa cover so your cat stays cozy.I recommend purchasing a small pad/bed for the carrier, as my cat would dig her nails into the sherpa layer and it made it difficult to remove her at vet appointments. With a pad or bed, you can slide them right out. There’s a top handle that snaps shut for carrying, or the adjustable shoulder strap. Both are very sturdy and plenty big enough to get the job done. There are enough mesh areas around the carrier for ventilation, but not so many that your cat could shred their way out like with a cardboard carrier. The holes are also small enough that they’re not easy to see through, so your cat can have privacy at the vet. These bags are DURABLE. My older Sherpa bag is still in like-new condition, despite monthly vet visits. The mesh holds up extremely well, despite my cat clawing at it. I absolutely love this bag and highly recommend it to any pet lover!

A Great Pet Carrier!
This is a well-designed pet carrier! I bought the medium sized one for my cat, Willow, and it is so much better than the hard plastic carrier I had used for years. It easily folds away for storage, it is very sturdy yet lighter than the old carrier, it is very comfy for my cat with its washable fluffy mat and she can easily peer out of the 3 sides of its strong mesh material. I love the zippered storage pocket that I use to store collapsible travel bowls and treats. It has sturdy handles and a detachable shoulder strap that make it easy to carry Willow. It has a zippered top and a zippered front opening that make it much easier to put my cat inside it plus I know that it is more difficult for her to possibly escape from, unlike the fear I always had that the front grill on her old carrier could pop off. I also like the instructions on how to board an airplane with Willow in her carrier too. It is thoughtfully designed too, especially with the strong velcro strips that securely hold both the bottom board and the fluffy mat in place so Willow isn’t sliding around inside her carrier. You will not regret buying this pet carrier!

Puppy was very comfortable
I flew to Kentucky from Colorado to pick up my puppy. This bag was awesome. I could it stuff it into my suitcase because it condensed so easily. But when I took it out in Kentucky to bring her back to Colorado it was large. She had plenty of room, and it was very durable. She was biting at it and it never ripped or broke. And the Sherpa padding below was comfortable so she could sleep during the flight. It looked nice, and it came with several pockets which was great for her water, pool, dog bags, food, and a toy. There was a removable shoulder strap, so there were multiple ways to hold her going through the airport. I would definitely recommend this product

Great carrier, large cats happy
My cats (14+lbs) cannot fully stand in these, but still are able to comfortably maneuver around and settle in various positions. The mesh allows visibility and airflow while still making them feel hidden. Zip pocket is ideal for vet visits – papers, meds, etc.The straps are very sturdy, carrying is stable for a soft sided carrier.I will add, I have the same carrier from maybe 5-10 years ago, and this one is significantly more lightweight – hopefully the new materials hold up just as well.

Llevamos a nuestro chihuahua en un vuelo de Alaska Airlines a Los Ãngeles, sin problemas. El tamaño âpequeñoâ le queda adecuado al chihuahua.

I’ve had another Sherpa travel bag for 10 years and it just started to fall apart so I bought this carrier.Delighted that it was much easier to carry, lighter in weight and solid quality I bought two, one for each pup. After less than a handful of uses, the wire rod in the bag pierced through the bag and is now broken. It’s just over a month. I love this brand and product but sad the quality was poor. Is there an option to replace?

I know how difficult it is to figure out whether bags fit airline guidelines so I just wanted to leave a review here that it fit my 6kilo pug on swiss air economy. It is quite a tight fit but they are able to turn around and airlines donât test this out anyway. The one downside is that the bottom of the bag doesnât have a hard backing so thereâs almost no suppprt when carrying the bag but i suppose this was to make the bag lighter.
