Weak seams- but great customer service
UPDATE: I called the company because the dummies come with a 1-yr warranty. Their customer service was excellent. They said its unacceptable and unusual for their dummies to come apart that quickly. They sent two replacement dummies even though only 1 of the two I ordered here had ripped. In the future, I’d be more inclined to order directly from the company.Original review: The dummy arrived on Dec 29 and the seam split on Jan 7. We have a bird hunting dog, so we use the 2 dummies we purchased on a daily basis for training. We toss, he retrieves, and barring his learning curve of how to carry it properly, he never plays with it or chews on it. (He’s 3 now, so he knows how to carry it properly with the occasional playful toss in the air when his puppyness bubbles up. He’s quickly corrected and does it right.) He carries it to us, drops on command (never any tugging), and never has access to it unless he’s training. Other dummies we’ve had from this company have lasted for years with that type of use. I’ve stitched it with high quality thread, but 10 days of use as it was intended before needing a repair is not acceptable.

    Best retrieval toy I’ve used
I have a lab. When the weather cooperates, she loves nothing more than to retrieve from the water. This is the only toy that has not fallen apart. Very durable. Everything sewn together, not glued. Heavy duty canvas

Lasted 20 minutes, but my animals are ANIMALS!!!
The puppy weight is great, color is awesome! I bought this size and a bigger one for later. I have 2 puppies, one malinois and one labrabull, both 4 months. The cord was done immediately upon retrieval (I’m assuming the lab/bull) and was brought back cordless, found chewed in half. I still use it, but I’m really unimpressed with the fabric and stitching. I guess I expected this to be more durable for puppies.Being fair, these dogs are young, insane chewers and things get ruined instantly. We live in a wooded area and I cannot always keep up with them before finding them. This is a training tool and not a chew toy despite their telling me it’s the opposite. I think I’ll wait before I open the bigger one.So in my opinion, if you have not so insane dogs, I think these will be great and I’m looking forward to using the larger one when I can get these jerks under better control, as they only are bringing back 50% of the time, spending the other trying to destroy it in privacy. Maybe they hate me? Off to spend $$$$ to save my sanity.

    Fantastic customer support.
My 9 month old Golden Retriever decided to make a dinner out of this dummy. She managed to destroy the end. This is not meant to be a chew toy, but a retrieving dummy. I contacted the company regarding what she did. They replaced it! I really wasn’t expecting that because she destroyed it. I’ll definitely use them for future purchases.

    great
my dog loves these. pretty durable too.

    Didn’t last a month
This didn’t last a month in our home. Our GSP only played with it a few times and it ripped open. Disappointed in the quality that it couldn’t withstand a puppy. No way to fix it either.

  7. ckamp

    Do not last.
My dog loves chasing these. I like the weight, and size. However, the eyelet lets go and becomes loose, within the first week. Has to be cut off or it will cut you throwing it, or cut the dogs mouth. The canvas usually rips at the top or the sand blows out of the bottom. I’ve bought 5-6 of these. Don’t last longer than a month.Searching for a stronger product.

  8. Pappy

    Great training bumper
It’s a great size for puppy and younger dog training when starting out. The canvas is durable and I haven’t had any issues after a few months. Great product and value, would recommend.

  9. Grey Goose

There are some reviews stating they were chewed apart. Bumpers are for supervised training. They are not chew toys. If used for their proper purpose they will last for decades.

  10. Amazon Customer

Nice and heavy to teach the dog the true weight of a medium-sized bird. The canvas can withstand falls on any surface, as well as any mouthing from the dog. The thick long cord allows for a wide swing and long distance.

  11. John David Wilson

The product is good, the name needs a little work. It is not Jumbo it is a small size, if I would have checked the specs I would have known that. It works perfectly for my 2 dogs (65 & 70 lbs). The price was very reasonable.

  12. Kathy

Very good small dog/puppy training retrieve article.

  13. Bill Bradimore

Perfect for blind retrieves for my duck dog, great size, weight, & durable!
