Life with a dog can—and should—bring companionship, fun, and joy! But life with a badly behaved dog can bring frustration and heartbreak.

Behavior problems are often cited as the main reason for owners’ abandoning their dogs to shelters and surrendering them to rescues. But many of a dog’s problems can be resolved by a caring owner who’s willing to devote a little time to positive training. If you’re concerned about your dog’s behavior, what you need is reliable help, and fast!

In The Dog Behavior Problem Solver, dog-behavior expert and certified trainer Teoti Anderson shares her knowledge and experience with dog owners, offering insight into why dogs do what they do while showing caregivers how to implement reward-based methods with their dogs in clear, easy-to-follow steps, to begin the process of eliminating unwanted behaviors.

  1. teach your kids well

    Good information to know
I have had dogs my whole life and thought I knew a lot about their body language. However, our current dogs, while very sweet, are not always well-behaved. This book is helping me correct MY behavior which is also helping me correct theirs. Good purchase with lots of useful information!

  2. Fuzzy

    Informative/Great book
Very informative book about dogs and training

  3. S. E. ONEIL

    Four Stars
Have to admit, I’ve read it but need to start training.

  4. Kasey Dog Trainer

    Great Reference Tool
I’m getting a few copies of this to keep on hand to give to clients. I am a professional dog trainer and this is a great reference source for any level dog owner/guardian to help resolve some classic behavioral issues.

  5. CAS

    Adolesence
The sample provided led me to believe this would be a generalized training book or manual. There seemed to be too much leaning on the clicker method, which I don’t particularly care for. I did find some of her advice helpful and appropriate for modification from the clicker method. I liked the philosophy of always keeping the best interest of the dog in mind. This was definitely not an alpha control situation which is too harsh, I think, for dogs these days. I have an adolescent 74# dog, who is big but sensitive, wants to sometimes do it his way but is always nice about it, and has a delightful personality I wouldn’t want to alter in any way. Neither would this author.

    This book is a 10.
I’m starting to be a dog trainer, so this book is a great informative tool.

  7. DCH

Real educational on what my buddies are thinking & trying to say!
    Well written and clear guidelines

  8. Cindy squires

    Hire a trainer
I had high hopes for this book in helping me deal with my dogs aggression towards other dogs. I have a jack Russell, and probably was swayed by the one on the cover of the book! Unfortunately, most of the recommendations are to hire a trainer.
