Great For The Price
Fits an 11lb cat with room to spare, This door is made for a very thin surface. It worked great in my steel garage door but would not work on an entry door. There is no cover for the inside and if rain blows it will probably leak, again fine for my garage. I would recommend it for the right place to install.

Cutting hole hardest part – WORKED GREAT!
Have outside cat – Kolchak. Has heated house near my back door, so i added this cat door to my shed, and provided a larger heated house for him. Out of direct weather. Hardest part was cutting the hole itself, however install was easy and it works great! Kolchak loves it and is very thankful. Uses Shed all the time now. Only had to show hime entry ONCE! Easy to use Kolchak says.

Solved our problem
TLDR: Doors work great in a window for my 9 cats, the locks work about as well as scotch tape on a piece of cardboard.Let me start by saying I have 9 cats ranging in age from 9 years to 1 year old and weights from a heckin’ chonker of 15 lbs to a pack of paper towels weight more at 5 lbs . When we moved into our new home we put our cats litter boxes on our enclosed porch off the living room. We them wanted to use the window in the living room to come and go as they pleased. This was fine during the warmer months but when it started to get cold we needed a way to keep the cooler air from the porch from coming inside but also still allow the cats access (it’s heated out there but not as warm as the main part of the house). So, we bought 2 of these doors and used the cardboard that they came in to frame them in the window.*Sidenote: If you’re someone who appreciates a good cardboard box, the cardboard these were delivered in was amazing. It’s about a quarter inch thick and sturdy as hell. I love it. A piece of plywood would probably work better but I didn’t have that.As I said, I have 9 cats, some of them caught on to it super fast and had no issues going through the doors at all. For the ones that were convinced the doors were an obvious death trap set by satan himself to snatch feline souls we propped the doors open for a few days and lowered it slightly day by day after we confirmed almost everyone was going through the wide open door. We only had 1 cat that, even using that approach, was still convinced the doors were Satan’s crafty was of attempting to snatch her tiny kitty soul. For her we had to remove the magnet from one door, put her favorite canned food on the opposite side of the door, swing the door a few times so she could see it wasn’t the devils guillotine, and the only way to get the food she so desperately pined for was to suck it up and just plow on through. It worked. After that it took her a few more trips through the door after watching one of the others go through and come out on the other side, alive with their soul still intact, and she’s a pro at it now.The lock on these doors are pretty much useless. My father in law is allergic to cats and I’m pretty sure they can tell. So, when he comes over we wanted a way to be able to deny their access while he was here. It took all of 2 minutes for one of my cats to figure out if she pushed hard enough she could force her way in. She promptly went back out and held an instructional /demonstration meeting for everyone else so now they all know how to get through the door if it’s “locked”. We just take the doors out and close the window if we need to keep them out there for any reason. All in all, I love these doors.

Swings nicely
I installed this on a thin aluminum knee wall on my screen porch. Because it’s installed on a sheet of aluminum I had to caulk around the outside of it. It worked out perfectly. My cat uses it all day BUT, he’s learned how to slide the little locks open and closed. Instead of using his head to open the door he uses his paws. He’s about 10 lbs and skinny. So he fits thru it well.

needed magnetic adjustment.
It was a perfect fit for my old one. BUT, it was slopy made in the respect that the magnet on bottom that supposed to keep the flip door down, was inserted apparently at manufacture to “repel” each other, hence the door would always remain an inch “open ” in or out. Had to remove the magnet by drilling from back side, tapping it out gently because it was cemented in place, then rotating magnet so it was in the “attracting” position to keep the door down when not in use, and re-glueing it to place. ALSO, the seam around the outter edge, the fuzzy part on outer edge, was coming off, so also had to “re-cement” with a glue to keep it attached. The price was right but you better be mechanically inclined and have some extra time and patience to make everything “work as it should.”

God quality, locks
I have these installed on the dog houses out in my yard, for feral cats. I also have one in our bathroom window so that my team cats can come inside. We have no complaints. We have four of these all together. They are a strong product and very well made very easy to install. You will need a jigsaw or Dremel

Good Pet Door
Great little pet door. I bought a PetSafe door locally before this and didn’t realize it was designed for indoor use only. This one was able to be put into the same opening and is essentially the same design but with the little fuzzy weather stripping around the outside of the door flap to seal it, and a weather seal between the frame and the door. It also has the magnetic catch to keep it from blowing in and out with the wind like the other one did, and it has multiple in/out locking options so we can keep the cat out or in to our liking, whereas the other one was just either locked or unlocked in both directions. Best of all it was much less expensive. My only complaint is that the hinge area of the door flap still doesn’t have any weather stripping, and there’s about an eighth inch gap there that still allows air to flow through (see photo), which I think will become a problem in the coldest months of the winter and hottest months of the summer. I didn’t knock a star off for that because it’s a vast improvement on the brand name product for half the price, but figured I would mention it for people who want something with 100% seal. This one will not do that without modification. I think what I’ll do is carefully cut a piece of gorilla tape and apply it along the top once the cat gets used to it.
