    Very informative!!
There’s nothing more loving than a dog. The problem comes if you can’t train them. This just happened to me. I couldn’t potty train her and I couldn’t get her to stop chewing everything in sight. Wish I had read this book before I gave away the puppy. I especially enjoyed the chapters on canine communication and how dogs communicate without words and their complex interplay of emotions, bodily changes, surroundings, and multiple other factors. The book has a lot to offer and there is so much I didn’t know.

If you want to better understand your four-legged friend and improve his behavior, this book will be a great help!

    Informative Plus Interesting
Transforming Your Dog’s Behavior has a lot of information like other dog training books such as positive reinforcement techniques to training strategies. What really stood out to me was the section on understanding the psychology behind the aggression. I think of all the dogs that have been part of my life from when I was a small child to now where some were bought in a pet shop and others rescued from a shelter, their behavior makes a lot mor sense to me now. Great read.

    Awesome!
Body language for dogs? Silent communication? Science behind positive reinforcement? This book has it and more! This was such a quick read, but chockful of so much good information. I really liked the chapter on implementing training strategies. There was some really great and helpful advice in there. That’s been something I’ve struggled with with my own dogs. I also really LOVED the chapter on reactivity. My Healer started out totally normal but then became more reactive because one of my other dogs was. I’ve been struggling to help him with that, but there are some great tools in here to do so. Anyway, I’ll be revisiting this a lot over the next few weeks because there’s so much in here that’s so helpful. Will definitely recommend.

Great Book for Training the Humans
Our current pack of three mutts have some behavioral issues. They were all born on the streets and we didn’t get them until they were adults, so they have been harder to train. This book has been very helpful in identifying root causes and finding solutions to problems such as food aggression and separation anxiety. This is a must have reference guide.

    Watching for signs of aggression
I loved the whole book. Nothing I disliked. We have a lab rescue that had some aggression with the other lab and sometimes with her food. The book was very informative and helpful or what signs to look for. Our dog has gotten much better over time.Another successful book in my opinion

How to raise a very good boy
As the dad to a “pretty good boy,” I wanted to learn more about techniques to limit his reactive side, particularly around other dogs. I found the most helpful sections of this book to be in understanding dog body language and the things that they reflect in my own reactions. Certainly, treats help with training and reinforcement, but my own consistency is the biggest lesson here. Well-organized and clear description of techniques.

This book will help with puppies and older dogs alike! Lots of information on how to know what your dog is thinking and how to deal with bad behavior. Definitely recommend to anyone with a dog.

  10. Signore

As someone who’s had dogs throughout my life, I never truly delved into the psychology behind their actions until now. This book opened my eyes to understanding what drives aggression and other behaviors, especially for dogs with challenging backgrounds. The section on body language and positive reinforcement was so helpful, and the step-by-step guidance makes training feel manageable. Highly recommend for anyone looking to build a stronger, more positive bond with their furry friend.

  11. Hélène

I’ve always had dogs, but never really focused on the theory behind their behavior. This book is really helpful in understanding our furry friends and gives practical tips to improve bonding. Especially useful if you’re adopting a dog with a tough past.

  12. Kirsten Kohler

Again a good written guide, to give you good advice on how to manage unwanted behaviours in your fury companion, can recommend this author

  13. Gadzooks!

3.5 stars. I was surprised to find no credentials for the author other than: “spent time studying and working closely with dogs of all breeds and temperaments”. I expected actual training in the field, especially when it comes to dealing with animals and their sometimes aggressive behaviour. With this in mind, while the book has a lot of information, I am hesitant to recommend over books written by others with professional dog behaviour training.
